Advice for lower ranks

Im not as experienced as a lot of you guys commenting who have all m3's or whatever but for anyother lower ranks like me that are reading this I have some go to m2/hgh MU'd m1 loadouts I use but feel free to completely ignore any you don't like :)

Dictator and Rail - Sandstone. Great for wiping out shafts and rail because the shafts don't really damage you with the very good health of dictator and 15 protection from shaft on paint and decent rail protection too it often take 3 hits from rail to kill you but you can get an almost guaranteed 1 shot a slightly damaged wasp/hunter that most other railers use. Good all rounder, can defend and snipe but have enough health and speed to capture flags.

Hornet/Wasp and Rail  - Tundra. No explanation needed really :D  can work well with Smoky too if your rail skills are poor although your time to kill will rise considerably unless that critical comes at the perfect time and mastering rail early will make you a stronger player with the other weapons too.

Mammoth and Thunder - and decent thunder protection paint (I use Sandstone because thunder protection as well as shaft and rail who will try and take you down most). Good for being a defensive fortress (fortress kit?? :D ) good at range and thunder-proof paint helps protect against self damage if someone rushes you and you have to kill them up close. You can also try doing this with Vulcan - Storm. this is very powerful but take time to get used to so if you want to pick up a gun and do well with it straight away it might not be for you, put in some hours and tanks won't get within a mile of the flag.

Hunter/Viking and Hammer/Firebird - Storm/Atom. Use any of these interchangeably and you will have a close range monster. With hammer make sure to find good cover or keep moving after the 3 shot clip reloads or a rail/thunder will start eyeballing you. Learn how long it take to kill certain tanks with the firebird and you can drive off before they die because you can leave them on a bit of health and let them die on burn time. This saves your ammo and decreases the time you sit out of cover shooting.

Hornet and Freeze - Storm/Atom. A unique loadout that takes time to master. Works well on small maps like polygon although you can ambush people on larger maps if your smart and pick your kills. Come from behind and freeze them solid before they can shoot you back or circle them and get handy with your z/x keys to dodge there shots while they fail at trying to turn and hit you. DON'T TRY AND KILL TANKS HEAD ON - YOU WILL LOSE.  :D

Mammoth/Titan and Twins - Storm/Atom. A loadout built for polygon cp. sit in the middle capping the point and spraying people down. Not very skillful but very good for grinding xp and crystals fast as the battle fund and score get riduculous. We've all wanted that one last push to get a new turret or rank and this works brilliantly and polygon cp is probably the most popular map/game mode in tanki for this reason.

Hunter/Viking and Smoky/Thunder - Best all-rounder paint you have. Good midrange combo's as you have probably already realised. Use the versatility to your advantage and do whatever your team needs as you can be mobile and attack and defend quickly. Keep your head up and try not to take to much damage in one go and save your health for when your team needs it (caping or defending the flag/clearing out a mammoth spawn camping your team etc)

Hope this helps, just my pennies' worth but don't take it as absloute truth because i'm no generalissimo or anything just only personal experience and observation. Try these out and modify them and see if you like one. Good luck.

I started in August of last year and was enamored with the Railgun so much (camped with it on a Viking hull) that I had ignored the other turrets and my driving skills became stale. About a week before Thanksgiving, I decided to try out the Firefly Kit. Man was that fun! But I needed something a little more robust for a hull. Hornet was not as fast and a bit more hard to handle. Still fun, but not to my liking when the other side DDs their turrets. So I went back to my trusty Viking. Was not as fast but it could take punishment. Also, I was helped by the MU update - my Firebird had three parameters maxed: Damage, Firing Time and Afterburn. My Viking only had HP maxed. The MU upgrade gave my M1 hull and turret M2 specs. So since WO2 I've been running wild with this combo. And now recently at 2LT I have obtained a Firebird-M2 and with the help of the Women's Day discount, I just might be able to get it up to M3 specs. This combo (Viking/Firebird) has taught me how to turn my turret while moving. It's not perfect, but it is better than making myself a stationary target while firing. It has also helped me to anticipate better angles against the opponents since it is not a fast hull. And yes, in Massacre and Esplanade I WILL go for the flag even though my combo is slow as molasses. That is where the challenge is. Thank goodness for Spark paint. I found it to be most useful in close quarters of Esplanade. I will switch to Sakura paint in Massacre because I do see a lot of Isidas and Vulcans on that map. My Viking hull has enough HP to take enough damage from other turrets not to be one-shotted - except maybe for a Shaft with DD.

Viking/Firebird is not meant for every map, but it is going to be fun to see how far this can take me.

Average Tanki day for Mammoth Vulcan user:

1. Log in to Tanki

2. Check missions

3. Join battle that is even in score, numbers and having a rank advantage against most players.

4. Be Aggressive, wind up and shoot!

5. Watch everything die.

6. Realize that you lost some health.

7. Suddenly one or two Isidas show up, give you some good heals, and start to follow you like a celebrity.

8. Be MORE aggressive, wind up and shoot!

9. Watch everything die.

10. At the same time, protect your Fanclub of Isidas, so you can be invincible.

11. WIN!

12. Smile about all those crystals you just won.

13. Rinse and repeat as desired.

14. Log out and do stuff IRL.

I like Isida but which light hull should I use with it? Please reply!

Hornet in low to mid ranks, Viking as soon as you can snag Medic kit. SERIOUSLY you do not want to be driving a light hull north of Brigadier.

Hey there tankers I want to tell you about turrets and hulls (NOTE: this is only for players that don't know about turrets in tanki ) let's talk smoky it is a fast reloading turret it lets you take advantage of other players that are using the equipments hornet or wasp what happens is if they are coming straight for you shoot them in the front area they will lose control or they wheel get knocked of a bridge if you manage to make it possible now let's talk about THUNDER!! Thunder is a strong turret in the game it really does damage if you use double damage with thunder you might be able to one shot a wasp or hornet but the disadvantage is if they have a defensive paint than idk but this turret is pretty strong and does damage that is an advantage but the disadvantage is if an enemy comes close to you like on you and if you shoot them you will do damage to them and yourself that is one issue now let's talk railgun a pro weapon that is used by really skilled players and sometimes not used by skilled players but in many ways this gun gives you advantage of players all of them would be one shoting players (sometimes) and flipping players and knocking they're aim off that is one but a disadvantage is if you are going to use it in cp you will die a lot of times because of the slow reload time. And now let's discuss twins if you want more xp and bp in battles get a really heavy hull and Twins you will be alive for a long time and getting more kills this turrets advantages are knocking aim off other players and making enemy lose health faster remember this is a close range turret. Now ricochet this turret has bouncy bullets and does damage but reload time is slow that is a disadvantage but the few advantages of this turret is it knocks aim off of enemy tanks hard to control when rotating sometimes. Now Vulcan this is a turret that is made for distance but what is the advantages it slows down enemy tanks when you shoot at them head first and if they are running away from you and if you shoot them they won't be able to steer their hull properly. Now firebird this is a close range weapon it heats up enemy tanks when you are close to them this turret is best used in cp because everyone is busy getting to point. Now freeze this is another one a close range turret that uses a freezing effect when you use it the advantages are it slows down enemy tanks and prevents them from rotating hull or turret but just like firebird the disadvantage is reload time. Now finally shaft how do you use this turret go hide somewhere where players won't see you don't park up close next to a enemy tank and wait for the relaid bar to go down to kill them with more force but seriously no this is not a close range turret don't go close to some tank and kill him like that it is the worst idea this goes to low ranks the advantage is it does one shot this turret only for far range just remember that it is best suited for ctf and that was it for the turrets topic

If you wanted to discuss hulls and turrets you could have simply posted this in the "Let's Discuss Equipment Combos" Topic.

Good idea :)

Freeze+Mammoth M2 with nearly Fully-Mu'ed Storm is excellent for defending the blue base in Noise during CTF battles.

At high rank almost everything is mounted on Viking. Large maps disappear, so light hulls do too. Titan also shows up a lot on Polygon CP.

Isida is everywhere. Firebird is common although less common than at M2 and low M3 ranks. Smoky also makes a comeback at high ranks.

There are also usurpers. These are the players who show up in a turret like Hammer Freeze or Vulcan, drug double damage, and clean house because no one wears protective paint from these weapons - too busy guarding against Fire and Rail
