Anti-Hack

Recommended Posts

Hello.

I am here to suggest that Tanki Online put more anti-hacking mechanics into the game. First of all, there should be a button making it so that only your IP address can log into your account (this button should be able to be toggled on and off so when you're on vacation using another IP address you can still access your account). There should also be an option to have secondary passwords. And, just to be even more secure, there should be an option that you must include your email address as well as your username (with your password(s), of course) when you log in.

Thank you.

Pointless, when you get hacked and you mail tanki online team, they could already toggle your i.p address to give you back your account... Well they should be able to do that, on other games they had that capability

Might take too long to log in, and what if your IP changes??

If you use a proxy, if you travel a lot, or if you have DHCP you should turn the IP security feature off.

I don't like this idea because it would take too long to log in, IP address could change if moving, if you use tanki correctly, your account should never be hacked.

If you use a proxy, if you travel a lot, or if you have DHCP you should turn the IP security feature off.

Also, if you think it would take too long, then don't turn on the security systems for yourself.

That wasn't the case of my friends that got hacked.

It's funny, since a guy just lost his account.

Poor chap. He didn't get any emails from TO either.

I agree with this idea, but only if it is to come out last. Other things deserve to happen, such as the new Machine gun turret (hopefully that comes packaged with a paint against it), and the Unity version.

The best anti-hack system out there is one that requires a code automatically sent to your cell phone when you log in.  It's pretty simple.  I have that option on other on line programs I use.  You don't have to enable it.  (I have no reason to worry on Tanki.  I have nothing worth stealing.)

If your friend had a strong pass and didn’t share any details with anyone and had an email connected to his/her account; and/or was not logged in to any shared computers others might have used and/or have tried to use cheats, then it is very unlikely your friend was hacked, and I can guarantee 99% of players who claim to have been hacked have failed to meet the one of the following I mentioned above and their accounts instead became compromised.

The word hacked ticks me off, because it’s highly unlikely to do so, in order for someone to be ‘hacked’ one must find the email (which is hidden) so the only way to do that would be to hijack the email which is locked away in the database tanki stores every accounts information, again very unlikely, and then one would have to hack the email and then change the details, tanki runs its own encryption meaning that the only way somone could do this is by breaching the system, and its just not possible

On the other hand, if your friend had a weak pass the account could have been breached once someone has guessed the password, that does not make them a hacker, because it takes little effort to guess the password if it is weak, what you are suggesting is that tanki encrypted database is easy to breach, again its just not possible and/or probabilities of that would be extremely low.

In these circumstances, the i.p would get compromised anyway, so i know where you are coming from, but i do not believe people get hacked, their accounts were comprimised through faults of their own

Nice ideas to prevent hacking, but players who are really secure and they DON'T give away their password to people who PROMISE to buy crystals for them, they won't get hacked.

I think the email feature should be optional and should only come on after you already have an account. I don't have an email and having to have an email would require me to hack an email. :) I'm not allowed to have an email, and I'm not the only Tanki Player who has that problem. The email idea is fine, as long as it is not forced. Just my opinion.

Yeah, I like not forcing an E-mail because for about half of my Tanki career, I didn't have one, and if they had forced it, I wouldn't be playing it at all. :)

Keep in mind all of my ideas should be able to be toggled on and off so people who travel a lot, use public Wi-Fi a lot, use a DHCP, a proxy, or people who don't want to put their email address and secondary passwords don't get mad :D.

That is great! Just so long as you don't have to have an email to register. Here, I'll smile back. :D
