First Gold Box

This is where you can describe how you caught your first gold box.  My first gold box was an 100 crystal gold box several years ago on my other account (currently W01).  It was pretty exhilarating.  It was on moon silence and the gold box was right by the building on the mid level near the ramp to the lower level.  I was by the pipes when it fell.  I was mammoth and thunder.  There was this wasp who went up the ramp and just missed the gold box.  I shot him in the air and destroyed him.  I rushed and was able to collect the gold box.

 

My first 1000 crystal gold box I just captured yesterday on this account.  It was on cross with only 5 players.  Only me and another wasp were going after the gold box.  I was able to easily destroy the wasp with my freeze, and no one was even close to getting it.  I thought I was due for one, and I finally got one. :)

 

So, what was your experience with catching your first gold box?

Map called Bridges. This was still back when the gold box fell at every 700 fund (=7000 nowadays). My friend  was on hornet + twins and I was hornet + rico, somewhere around Third Lieutenant. It was a fairly long battle and most people left, so the two of us went to the centre and started placing mines and occupying the spot. No-one really bothered us and my friend already got the first gold at 700 (this one was at 1400), so the box just fell on top of me and I got it  :)

The only map i played on in my lower rank days was silence and moon silence, i remember catching my gold on the balcony, that's all i can say :D felt good, but they are really hard to catch

The only good battles available back when moon silence came out were moon silence. There were so many moon silence and none of any other battle.  I was there before the era of moon silence, but it came out about when I became a First sergeant.

BTW, is Bridges still around?  It was my favourite map when I had thunder and mammoth as my main combo several years ago, but I haven't seen a battle with that map for a long time.

Don't remember... only caught 2 pathetic gold boxes through my tanki career. First was long time ago.

hey wait, getting some memories back...it was...it was...uhh sigh forgot it....

 

just kidding...it was in silence (back in 2011, not on this account). second round just started and most of the players left

i was using viking+something and was going to red base then saw something golden coloured, i went to it and caught it. it was the first and probably the easiest gold of mine yet. as there were noone near me at all!

My first gold box was in Serpuhov and my sister was the one who got it as she used to sometimes play my account at that time. :lol: I think I was a Sergeant-Major or WO1 at the time and I recall it being long back in February 2013. Coincidentally, I got my second gold box the exact same day in Fort Knox.

I was in Sandbox, with my rl friends, then we see a "Gold box will be dropped soon" and we were like WTH and just continued the battle. But then I see a 1000 crystal box falling feom the sky, I rushed to it with my hornet freeze, and freezed my friends :P

they got so mad at me :lol:

LOL, none of you?  I had never heard of gold until First sergeant when I saw my first gold ever.  The yellow notification came on and said gold will drop soon.  Everyone was so excited in chat, and I didn't understand.  I saw it fall but was quite a distance away from the landing point.

 

Back in the days of ol' when there was only smoky and rail available to me.  Didn't catch a gold until after update 1.1.

Wow, same map as me.  But I got it several ranks earlier.  Hmm...I was a drugging mammoth whenever gold boxes fell.  Hopefully you didn't take it from me. :P  You were just like this account of mine though.  Got my first gold box 2 hits before I became a WO5
