Reminiscing on M3 Light Kit

Lots of us who are of higher ranks will certainly remember the M3 Light Kit. A large majority of players (especially buyers) were able to purchase this kit at a decent price at the rank of just brigadier. For those of you who aren't familiar with the M3 Light Kit, it contained M3 Railgun, M3 Hornet, Needle and Spark. More can be found here: M3 Light Kit This was an easy way for newly ranked players to get M3 equipment at a good price and dominate in battles against brigadiers and lower. Most of the equipment available in this kit was only available until 1-3 ranks later, for a much higher price.

Many things have been attributed to this kit, primarily the popularity of the XP combo. The rise of XP can be linked to the kit coming out, and increased sales in it lead to increased XP battles (many brigadiers played XP with their M3 combos as if to 'show off'. This kit, nearly single-handedly started a revolution in Tanki battles, which was transferred to StarLadder and Clan Championships. It became an excellent skill to master this combination, and many tankers flaunted their success in being able to duel to a high standard.

Obviously, the kit and its contents haven't gone without their criticisms. Many medium rankers ( to ) were unhappy with how 'over-powered' the kit was. It meant that brigadiers increased the experience gap even further and left their lower ranked friends behind. Furthermore, it was seen that this combination was a must have, but for tankers who didn't want to have to wait until it came available normally, they would have to buy in order to have a chance of doing well. Even now, there have been criticisms of this combination by lower ranks. A prime was: Hornet and Failgun. This article was heavily criticised by the higher ranks, showing how the M3 Light Kit had boosted the popularity of this combination.

Unfortunately, it was removed when the wave of new kits were introduced. This induced annoyance in a lot of tankers, who had either long been saving up for this kit, or were going to get it when they ranked. It was replaced by temporary kits, none of which have matched the popularity of the M3 Light Kit. It appears, that in the foreseeable future, it will have no equal or better replacement. I am just thankful that I got it when I could.

ugh, please no. Making a completely overused combination even more overused. If Prodigi was 1.5m cry it'd still be better than ANY other paint if this kit was popular again

RIP Light Kit M3 .......... The Best Kit That Tanki Ever Had.......

Nope: the Medium M2 kit IMO was the best deal.

Mostly because it contained three great paints:

- Prodigi was the real deal here. No need to explain

- Sandstone was a nice bonus, because I still use it nowadays in

XP/BP on my M2 Hornet which needs a 20% Railpaint in those battles

- Emerald is a great Thunder paint but besides a decent Twins protection

it 's like the Spark paint in the light M3 kit (read "Spark" below)

The Thunder M2 was ok, but you would get it just one Rank earlier.

No, the other great benefit of the medium M2 kit was that the Viking M2

already got avaible at First LT.

That was a lot better than the Hornet M3 of the light M3 kit that

only needed one more regular Rank (MJ General) to become available.

The Rail M3 that already became available at Brigadier instead of General was

the real deal of the Light M3 kit. (like the Viking M2 in the Medium M2 kit)

The paints of the Light M3 kit were not that impressive in my view:

Spark is a great Rico paint, but that 's all it has to offer.

Needle is ok, but I would even prefer a cheaper Smoky paint like Savanna:

I would rather have Rail than Shaft protection.

That Rail M3 though...

But you can't use med med m2 kit in XP battles or starladder :P

Light M3 kit is a starladder made combo :33

From an EN standpoint this game is quite unpopular...There's also low traffic for starladder from the USA or Canada. There's also a low chance you're going to get there, or any tournament for that matter.

Starladder combo is interesting but I agree with @Loackie here.

But, you are right that having a M3 Rail in XP/BP 's already at Brigadier

is a huge advantage at that levelled playfield.

One more point added to the light M3 kit.

Ok..ok... :P

I always wanted M3 heavy kit, which was the most OP kit in the game.

M3 Mammoth, M3 twins, Progidi, Taiga.

All of these I want to buy!

This is about m3 Light kit and not M3 heavy kit, mate.
