Pinned Topic Problems

Ok now I understand why admins would want to pin topics that are important and helpful for players but do we really need that many? I mean seriously. Some of the pinned topics are things we could easily find, if we really cared enough, in our garages. For example, a new item was just pinned on the gameplay section. Each page can show around 29 topics, and on the front page, 15 of those topics are pinned. New posts deserve to have some chance being seen by the general public on the forum. However, all these pinned items just make it look messy and cluttered. If you look on any of the other foreign servers, you can see that at most, only 3-4 topics are pinned. If we really need these pinned topics, can't we just make another category for them?

Maybe. . . . But unpinning them and allowing them to be buried with other topics? No thanks.

 

Not many people are too keen on using the search bar to dig in the forums.

They'll just make a bunch of new topics on small questions, as shown before.

I understand but topics like "advice to lower ranks" "Total costs of each Weapons/Hulls" "Advantages and Disadvantages of Turrets/Hulls" "Beginner's Guide" don't really need to be pinned. And the "Let's Discuss" topics could be put in their own categories the same way how the "Let Discuss turrets/hulls" were.

You can use the "View New Content" option at the top right corner of the page to find new information. I do not think many people would want to search topics they frequently use. Searching would be disturbing as they want the job to be done quick.

I've suggested it to the other moderators before, but we need to inform administrators first and they, in turn, need to discuss it with the developers. I think it's really necessary to create a new sub-forum for all the "Let's discuss" topics in Gameplay to help bring out the newer topics. The RU gameplay section, on the other hand, has only 5 pinned topics and 3 of those are rules and official info.
