Auto Aim feature

Auto Aim is an abomination, designed to flatter.  It facilitates players who can not aim properly by allowing them just to point in more or less the general direction of the enemy and score a hit.   When in reality they would have missed by a very long way indeed.  Each turret when firing a shot has a cone of inevitability.  I think it is about 27 - 30 degrees for Rail Gun and probably similar for other weapons.  Shaft being the exception except on Arcade.  Auto Aim works both Vertically and horizontally, as a cone might suggest.  I believe that the game would be very much enhanced if Auto Aim was abandoned altogether.  Certainly its demise would demand far more attention to accuracy.  I would accept it as a bonus even if it was only discontinued in the horizontal plain and left those players who can not aim up and down, the large assistance that Auto Aim facilitates them.  Certainly I do not see why a player should be awarded a hit when missing left or right by a very large margin!

You rotate your turret left and right using your keyboard and when you shoot directly at the tank (not slightly to the side), the game automatically changes the tilt of your shot to hit the enemy tank. If you shoot at the enemy and they are slightly above/below you, then the shot will still hit the enemy tank provided that you aimed well horizontally and the angle is not beyond the maximum angle of your gun's depression/elevation, i.e. how far up/down the shot can go. This is what auto-aim does.

The new auto-aim mechanism is now set to hit the turret as well as the hull, whereas before the turret was only visual and no gun, except for Shaft, was able to hit it. With this change guns with high knockback, such as Railgun, easily flipped light hulls over with a shot to the side, so players became annoyed at the fact that after getting hit with Railgun they often had to self-destruct. Today's update changed the knockback (impact) force of Railgun and Smoky, so that you have a lower chance of getting flipped when getting hit by one of these guns.

In the future please ask questions about the game in the official topic: Questions and Answers.
