Paints with Hammer protection!

Im sure a "premium" paint like clay or zeus is coming our way with 50% off hammer, 30% off vulcan and 20% for another turret (hopefully not thunder or railgun...)

There are too many turrets with protection against Railgun, I hope that, that premium paint will have protection against Hammer, Freeze, and Twins.

The reason why is, the "premium" paint will be mostly based on close combat, so adding protection to weapons that attack from Short-Mid would be a great idea :3

Well its good to have paint against hammer, but that wouldn't be enough. Hammer needs to be rebalanced. In Big maps games, I always select the paint with protection against most of players, i can't go buy TIGER Paint with 175000 crystals, against only one hammer. ( which is needed to win the game) Any team who has Hammer m3 wins the battle easily. Please do something about that.

For example: most polygone CP games have 8-8 players, each team has at least 3 Thunders, 1 railgun, 2 smokey, 1 Isida, and 1 Freeze. In this case the best paint is Prodigi, Clay, or Picasso.

and if that team had: 4 Thunders, 1 isida, 1 freeze, 1 smoky, and one hammer. Best paint would be Tiger.

So thunders will win round easily. The best way to deal with a hammer when he joins the battle is to leave the battle, and loose your well earned battle funds, that's the way i see it.

This player has some logic.

Why is there a paint called Atom but not a paint called Molecule? Imagine your whole team has the paint Atom in a XP or whatever. All together is a molecule :c how simple, so add a paint called molecule. Would be nice eh -.-

Not a review or anything but just some quick personal thoughts of the top 4 new hammer paints.

Atom_preview.pngAtom

Firebird (15%→26%)  - Twins (10%→15%)  - Freeze (10%→15%) - Hammer (35%→50%)

A max of 15% against twins and Freeze will give you a second or two longer against m4 turrets but defenseless against the big guns of smoky, rail and thunder so not so good for attacking bases or traveling over open ground. Better to use this in an close or urban setting where there is cover from enemy fire. Best thing about this is its early availability from Colonel so I'd definitely buy it at that rank.

Mars_preview.pngMars

Firebird (27%→41%) - Isida (18%→27%) - Hammer (33%→50%)

Decent base and MU protection for 3 out of the 11 turrets. 2 short range and 1 short to medium range. Nothing for the popular big guns of Smoky, thunder, rail and freeze. Available at Major General so those ranks might be tempted to buy this but to be named after the Roman God of War, I would have expected more. Not for me though at generalissimo.

Tigr_preview.pngTiger

Smoky (30%→50%) - Railgun (15%→28%)  - Hammer (40%→50%)

As a Generalissimo, I'm tempted by this paint more than others because it suits my playing style and has excellent protection against 3 of the popular strong guns. I could see me using this to attack a base but I'd probably need an Isida to help due to the number of guns available in the game now. 11 guns (including vulcan), means there are more ways for you to be destroyed and while this paint has protection against 3 strong guns I fear that when you enter an enclosed area, you might find yourself worn down by short range weapons like Freeze, Isida and Firebird or picked off by Thunder.  This paint is very similar to the cheaper Savanna paint which is superior against railguns and it has Rico protection not to be sniffed at. Buy them both if you're flush but I'd be sticking to Savanna for now until I see what is available after Vulcan's release. ps, best looking paint!

Nano_preview.pngNano

Smoky (20%→30%) - Firebird (10%→15%) - Ricochet (28%→42%) - Hammer (30%→45%)

This is supposed to be the top Hammer paint (to date) due to it's price but I'm not that excited about it. Swap Rico for Thunder I'd buy it in a heartbeat. Again I'll wait for Vulcan to be delivered before making any decisions and prepare to just dodge the Hammers for now until then. I'd prefer Atom to this which is a lot cheaper and available a whole lot earlier. Not so much thought gone into this one.

Due to the number of guns available now, paints on their own will only do so much for the individual. Teamwork and a variety of turrets on the teams you play in will be just as important, if not more so, to ensure you're on the winning sides more often than not. Having a garage full of m4's helps but isn't enough anymore.

Hi Semyon,

Great about the new paints, it's good to have hammer protection, however, the higher rank paints are disappointing. Please see my comments below under each high rank paint type for feedback which I think many tankers may agree on:

Hello tankers!

As of today, the game features the long-awaited paints with Hammer protection! We have added 7 all-new paints. You can find their detailed descriptions below.

magma_preview.png

“Magma”

Available from: Staff Sergeant

Price: 3 000 crystals

Protection:

20% against Hammer

kolchuga_preview.png

“Chainmail”

Available from: Warrant Officer 1

Price: 23 000 crystals

Protection:

18% against Hammer

10% against Isida

6% against Railgun

pixel_preview.png

“Pixel”

Available from: Warrant Officer 3

Price: 29 000 crystals

Protection:

30% against Hammer

10% against Ricochet ---> 30% on Hammer yet only 10% on Rico... why? It makes no sense.

atom_preview.png

“Atom”

Available from: Colonel

Price: 138 000 crystals

Protection:

35% against Hammer --->35% great starting point, but the rest are useless.

15% against Firebird ---> 15% only... why? It makes no sense.

10% against Freeze ---> 10% only... why? It makes no sense.

10% against Twins ---> 10% only... why? It makes no sense.

mars_preview.png

“Mars”

Available from: Major General

Price: 143 500 crystals

Protection:

33% against Hammer

27% against Firebird

18% against Isida

OK - so Mars - it looks great, Hammer and Firebird resistance starting points are good, but why such a low starting resistance against ISIDA? There are 8 other turrets that can destroy you easily now, mind you... so giving more resistance to ISIDA here will be helpful. Or even adding a 4th resistance is practical.

tigr_preview.png

“Tiger”

Available from: General

Price: 175 000 crystals

Protection:

40% against Hammer

30% against Smoky

15% against Railgun

Again, very nice but again same problem... you only give reasonable starting protection to two of the three resistances. Why so low on Railgun? Why not boost it a bit and add a 4th resistance here? You've added two more turrets. 4 resistances seems appropriate now.

nano_preview.png

“Nano”

Available from: Marshal

Price: 231 000 crystals

Protection:

30% against Hammer

28% against Ricochet

20% against Smoky

10% against Firebird

I would buy this paint straight away, 4 resistances is great, however again, why such a hold back on Firebird and Smoky at this level?? 10% and 20% only to start? For the price it costs, it's not a fair deal at all.  At higher ranks, the turrets would make a meal out of your tank at such low resistances, even if upgraded at those starting points. AND why Smoky again!? It's already on Tiger. Thunder would have been a good option instead of Smoky on this. You now have at least two Hammer paints with to many similar resistances. More than 1 similarity on paint resistances isn't helpful.

Protection against the shotgun turret has also been added to several existing paints. In their case, the Hammer protection is an additional one, so their prices, and the ranks at which they become available, have remained the same.

“Storm”: 5% against Hammer added

“Desert”: 10% against Hammer added

“Roger”: 15% against Hammer added

“Jade”: 15% against Hammer added  ---> Again, why oh why so low at this level and cost?? It's almost a useless level of starting protection!

“Rock”: 10% against Hammer added  ---> Same as above... not cost effective at such a low starting point, which means it will not upgrade that much.

In the near future, we will also introduce paints offering protection from both Hammer and Vulcan. They will be added to the game with the release of the machine gun turret.

Finally, some maps have received additional drop zones for gold boxes. A while ago, we made the drop points for gold boxes less predictable on the most popular arenas. Now it's time to extend this to all the remaining maps.

That’s all for now. Enter the game and check out how the new paints look on your battle machine. And make sure you share your impressions about them in the forum and via the poll!

---> There will now be 11 Turrets in the game once machine gun is introduced. High ranking Paints with less than 4 types of protection are essentially now more useless. Tankers do not like to be destroyed so frequently. I think that higher ranking paints (for their costs) should ALL have at least 4 to 5 protections for the 11 turrets. And the protections should all START at around at least 27% with a range of up to 50% protection. For the amount of crystals it costs to buy and then fully upgrade a paint, it's not worth it unless you get significant protection.

Getting destroyed by a one shot wonder isn't fun! :P

An example of current "to be more useless" high rank paint is ---- Prodigi which cost a good amount to buy and upgrade, yet Firebird resistance can only reach a max of 10 at full MU! Why? This is a perfect example of a high rank paint that has a useless resistance feature on it. 10 against any level Firebird is not any help.

Other examples of this are already present in your new Hammer resistant paints and add-ons for Hammer to existing paints. (comments made above) It's just a useless spend of crystals for relatively low protection in most cases. Tankers want to feel they get their money's worth (for buyers); and for collectors to feel they didnt just lose all their hard earned crystals which may take weeks/months to collect in most cases.

Also, My opinion is there are now way too many paints in the game. It's getting confusing what is best to use and especially mid-battle changes. Can Tanki developers consider to shrink the selection of paints and just add more resistances to a smaller selection of favourite paints?

OR - maybe change the entire dynamic of paints where you can sell back lower rank paints you no longer use.

***OR - make paint work like this:

Take away set resistances assigned to each paint type. Allow user to select any paint style they want to use and they can add, remove, mix and match any resistances they wish to that paint style, up to 4 or 5 types of resistance.

As you rank up you can upgrade the paint resistances further. (Level unlocks). So maybe a list of the 11 turret resistances. You can upgrade those resistances as you rank up. Perhaps at Generallisimo, you can upgrade to 50% on all paints, but you can only assign up to 4 or 5 resistances to any PAINT STYLE depending on rank.

This way you can get rid of the confusing paint assigned styles and allow user to assign what they wish to the way they want their tank to look. Also, because currently, you have many paints that are only different because of one resistance type, but the other 2 are the same! Like Rock and Irbis: They both have FREEZE and ISIDA resistance, only different by one resistance... until Hammer was added to Rock.

Maybe it is good to separate resistances from paint style assignments and keep them separated so Tankers can assign whatever they feel is necessary for their particular battle scenario. Hope maybe it is a good idea.

Tanki is usually good at listening to Tanker feedback, so I hope you listen to this feedback and it helps you.

Thank you Semyon :)

Pardon me for being a bit crude here but its about time. why didnt you just release these with hammer? Like really? How does tanki still have people playing it?

They need a lot of time for these paints...

12 paints is SURE much more work than 1 turret.

I love the protection of tiger paint but that is one ugly paint with no camouflage .that paint should have been the lowest with magma being the highest it looks good.

nano has an awesome look, reminds me of the crysis serie. unlucky the protection wasted against ricochet makes me prefer tiger as a better price-quality product
