Is shaft now underpowered?

I was always using shaft from mo to m1 until the recent update which introduced the laser sight

into the game.

i always longed to reach major which would mean me able to purchase the m2 shaft

but found using shaft with the laser sight very annoying to me.

so in a change of tactics and at the christmas sales i decided to buy a hammer m2 instead

i also fully micro upgraded it

it has become a very serious weapon to use and is devastating at close range.

But i still wished i could use my trusty shaft.

so i then decided to give it a go again and purchased my m2 shaft when  i reached major.

i have used it in a few ctf matches

i love playing in serpuhov as i have my favourite sniping spots on both sides of the map.

what i have found is when using shaft you do become very vunerable

with other players knowing where you are.

one thing i would like to see is maybe an increase in the power of the one shot you have

if i miss my shot then its deffinetely the end of me

i have found that a least you should be able to one shot a hull maybe up too viking?

 

anyone have their opinion?

You have to adapt to the update to be less vulnerable. The easiest and most common tactic is to point the laser into a wall/tree in fromt of you, but be on the look out of the field, at least half of which should still be visible. When you see an enemy, point the gun at them and shoot. You will get the kill if you aim well enough since the laser will be exposed only for a split second so the enemy won't escape. After you shoot once or twice, change your sniping position so that the enemy you killed can't come back to where they saw the laser point from and kill you.

I agree - this method works fine. I think Shaft is underpowered now in comparison with Hammer though. Hammer delivers an almost equal amount of damage but can fire 3 times quickly without having to reload whereas Shaft has to wait to reload after only one shot. Most tanks can withstand one Shaft blast - so often you are killed during the Shaft reload period.

First, they made a game that unsitable for shaft, aftr they fixed it and make shaft worse, and after they give power to change the gun.

 

They still try to add the gun with a good way. This is not easy to add a gun that like shaft to tanki online. Laser spoiled shaft, but we have to accept, everythink was worse than today when 7-8 months ago.

Shaft would be more popular if there were more large map battles like Lost Temple, Highway, Massacre (if you're skilled), not so much stadium.

true but shaft can deliver a large amount of damage at almost any range versus Hammer which is only best at close range.

With the Prodigi and Picasso outbreak, yes, Shaft is now underpowered.

By that logic, Railgun is the weakest turret ingame. Only a select few do not have a high-end railgun protection paint.

Umm with M0 shaft, you can kill a wasp with a half power blast, a hornet with 3/4 and hunter with a full power blast so HALF of the tanks cannot withstand a shaft blast. Also m1 shaft can kill dictator and viking as well as hunter was and hornet with one shot.
