Has anyone else noticed...

I've been slowly building up the micro stats on my Thunder turret, but have noticed that the area of impact / blast radius is less than minimal:

the "advertising" for this turret claims "damages everything within the blast radius"... well, the so-called blast radius is no bigger than a shot from a Smokey! I've repeatedly shot at someone who was hiding just around the edge of a parapet (wall): I could just see the corner of their tank tread, but repeated shots from Thunder had NO effect.

The distance was less than (in real life terms) 100 feet, and area of impact was the equivalent of shooting a round less than 2 feet from the edge of their tank. All that to say, the "blast radius" of Thunder SUCKS.

Also, as you upgrade, the stats for blast radius DON'T CHANGE... To my way of thinking, when you upgrade, it's for BIGGER AND BETTER... If I'm gonna spend $$/crystals/time to upgrade, I expect something for my time/$$/crystals.

Ok here are my opinions,

1)Never micro upgrade your till you reach m3 modifications. Micro upgrading lower modifications (M's) is a total waste if crystals since when buying the next M your MU s will be simply removed. This is even worse for a turret like thunder because higher modifications unlock at smaller gaps of ranks.

2) The blast radius or the area of damage of thunder is 10m. This id the exact same from M0 to M3. The problem you might be facing here would be that amount of damage you deal through splash damage is extremely low. This can be easily explained through the splash damage percentage. The lower M s of thunder can only deal a maximum of 35% damage as splash while higher end thunders can deal an impressive amount of 50%. It will be wise for you to try and make direct shots as possible rather than trying to cause damage through splash damage.

3) It's considered by many that thunder M1 is really powerful around the rank of WO 4. So don't just give up your dreams on thunder yet....

That's not how it works with MUs. The more you invest, the less you will get per crystal spent, which is why investing a lot into micro-upgrades on low ranks is a complete waste of crystals. As for your actual issue - you should test the splash damage with a friend in controlled conditions, where you can see for yourself how much damage you do at different distances of the explosion from the tank (get them to tell you in chat or over skype). You will very rarely be able to kill a tank with splash damage on M0 Thunder. It's basically just bonus damage for hitting groups of tanks or for when you miss slightly and hit the wall next to the enemy tank.

I don't have problems with Thunder M0. I guess it's because of Internet problems. If not, then it is because only the first few steps of micros are cost-effective. After those few steps, micros hardly have any effect. By the way, were you playing with high ranks?

It isn't a mistake if you MU your M1 Wasp just a tiny bit, so it can survive Railgun :)

I MU'd my M1 Wasp and M1 Smoky a tiny bit, because it's M2 modification are far away

Remember That MUs Are Removed After You Buy The Next M Of The Thing Except M3s As It Is The End .
So Its Best To MU at M3 Stage .
As For You , If Thunder Is Bad In Your Opinion , There Are Still 9 Turrets To Try Out .
Choose Which One Suits You And You'll Be Fine Then .
