no topic locking without the consent of the author

Recommended Posts

When a topic gets closed, why keep blaming others? Like seriously, take a look at yourself first.

Not trying to come off as rude, but people like that obviously got no respect for the forums and other forum users

if they say things that they can't even say with their own face by hiding behind a Mult.

I'm going to try to address the different thoughts and opinions voiced here as best as I can. But before I do, on behalf of the Forum Moderation team I can assure you that Moderators never lock a topic "for no reason." When a topic is locked, it usually is provocative, violates the rules, or has little purpose that could bring out valid discussion. We take this forum very personally. It is our job and above that our home, so we do our best to keep it clean. Y'all know that one can't have a neat and tidy home if there are clothes haphazardly strewn about and pointless trinkets littering the shelves. The forum functions the same way. One can't have a productive forum if it's cluttered with topics that are pointless or contrary to the rules.

Oh, and speaking of rules, we're sure that you took ten minutes to study them when you first signed up. Which means you had to have seen this clause:

3.16. The Administration shall be entitled, upon its own discretion, to delete any information or message; delete/move the topic created in the wrong Forum's section, without notification.

There are others like that in the rules, but that's a biggy. But since y'all read that I don't need to elaborate  .

Now for quotes:

its really strange that tanki staff lock topic without the satistaction of the author.........atleast if they want to lock the there must be a way for author of the topic to try to convince the tanki staff regarding his topic in private message.......or  in some other way ........

many times topic gets locked without permission of author.......wth

By "satisfaction" you mean permission? If we had to ask permission to close a topic, what point would there be in us even existing? Y'all would be the forum moderators. While I personally believe in democracy to a certain extent, that would be taking it a tad bit to far wouldn't ya say? However, if you feel your topic has been closed unfairly, PLEASE  feel more than free to contact any of us. I'll be the first to admit that I've incorrectly closed a topic before and been set straight by the owner. We're only human, so we do make mistakes. I shan't quote the Christina Perri song, but ya get my point. So keep that in mind and know that we're always open to suggestions/feedback.

yeah thts gud that mod or admin must notify the author of the topic before closing the topic....

Need I quote that clause about Moderations and members of the Administration being allowed to remove topics without notification? Tell me if I do and I shall :tank: .

ok just make it sure when topic is closed at the same time ....u must pm author about it........even if it is formality in some cases.........

Same thing as above.

I so agree this section is for ideas and suggestions and yet the mods always lock it without even leaving a warning on the page, i view the pages but i dont reply to all of the posts because they consider of the same thing.

Can you show me one locked topic that was closed without a post from a moderator at the end. I will say we do close some topics without an explanation when it is clearly not needed, as in "MOD'S SUCK" topics or things of that nature, but in general we always make a post explaining as to why we are closing the topic.

i thought u r some old guy who always in serious mood ......but sometimes u r very funny and react without thinking ......am saying that if u wanna lock topic its ok ,,,but at the same time u must send pm to that author that ur topic is going to be closed ....if u have some better reason to reopen it then pm me back......am not talkin about that rubbish topics of hi , hello etc .....of course without any doubt these topics get closed by mods the momemt they saw it...........

I didn't even understand that completely, but I believe my above posts amply explain whatever your issue was.

I'm going to leave this topic open for you and others to provide constructive feedback as to how you would like us to better serve you. However feedback is not "You suck" or anything of that nature. If things get out of hand this topic will be closed (with a note at the end of course :) ). I hope I've helped answer some of your questions and clear up any misunderstandings.

Cheers!

I got an idea about this suggestion!

- make a mult

- make a topic with a single 'hi'

- watch how moderators polity asking you to give them permission to lock your flood topic

- ?????????

- PROFIT!

To make it even more cruel I would make the author of this suggestion the only moderator on the forum.

Oh if only I wasn't a mod......

I'd totally do that......

ok all mods i think got upset except that micah.....watever........i just want the mods to make it sure that if the topic is genuine and author of the topic not happy with the closed topic........topic has to reopen on his request......then if mod feel nothing is coming out of that topic then they can again close the topic..........

3.16. The Administration shall be entitled, upon its own discretion, to delete any information or message; delete/move the topic created in the wrong Forum's section, without notification.

You can still PM a moderator, asking to re-open a closed topic and the topic will be open again if you provide a valid reason.

Closed.
