I kinda disagree. It would be like for CP and TDM. "More teams, less players!"

Yeah that's what I mean! It will/would add reality to the game...

It is way too complicated to play. It would end strategies in almost all maps and every map will be 'massacre'. Almost All maps have been designed keeping in mind bases for two teams.

There are 3 and 4 team CTF games in Xonotic (3d FPS based on ioQuake), but it is done on the map level not on the game engine level.  Well, minor changes in game engine, maybe.

 

But with the right number of players, it can be pure fun mayhem, since each team not only has 3 targets to attack, but they have to defend from the other 3 teams as well.  Imagine red team having blue's flag, but can't capture because green has the red flag?  Very fun game mode.
