Ideas for Supplies and Drones!

Some of these are cool, but there are currently no plans to add new supplies, nor to bring back the "test box" series in the V-log.

Why not activate drones/batteries in a similar way as other supplies. In battle, if a user feels the need to use a drone, they can activate the battery and the equipped drone becomes activated. I realise there will be issues with drones that are defense drones which activate supplies on spawn, but still, something like this will ensure battery supply lasts longer than it currently does.

Not every player has a good PC/GPU to switch on the smoke effect.  Your idea could be useless if everyone switches off the smoke option in "Graphics" after the introduction of smoke grenades. ???

 

It would be better if there is a new supply which can give the user a radar-absorbing ability for 20-30 seconds.  Other players can still see the tank on screen, but it disappears on the small radar and hide from Hornet's OD (deal damage if get hit, thus not invincible).  This could be a tactical supply for both close and long range players.

But still vulcan and twins are still in the game (though, they make my FPS crash HARD). I think a smoke effect is just as easy/difficult to process the firebird shot animation. And, I completely forgot about the smoke option (that shouldn't effect this suply).

 

What you are proposing is sort of like a personal counter-UAV. I myself don't really use the radar much to be honest (i only use it like the heartbeat censor in MW2 if I'm in a tunnel or something like that) and I don't see how big of a change that would be.

I only wish to use it as a counter to Hornet's OD. ?

Many rely on the OD to see through walls and buildings (ya, I am talking about Magnums) in low-mid rank battles.

This is a supply that appears only on maps as a box.

This box pops ups at random places on the map during a battle and waits until its picked up. And the more boxes, the more fun even simultaneously. 

Boxes are neither announced (as gold boxes are) nor parachuted. they silently pop up. The reason for this is that else more players will see it in the sky and rush to it, which, IMO, would disturb the game.

A player picks it up exactly like it happens with double speed boxes and others. 

This box contains a surprise supply or effect. 

 

For example: 

- it can have the effect of a repair kit, double damage, dbl speed, dbl armor (or of a combination of them) for the player of for his team.

- it can eliminate the cool down

- it can make the overdrive instantly ready (finishing all cool down times & white star appears) for the player or for all its team mates

- it can heal the tank of the player, or it can heal the tanks of the whole team

- it can activate all three supplies (without using a player's supply) of the player, or of all the team mates

- it may contain a paint. The player or the whole team will then drive with that same paint until the end of the battle

- it may heal the player or the whole team

- Another option is, as battle parameter, to limit the amount of drugs a user can use in a battle. if used in battle config, then a surprise box can increase this limitation with a random amount like 10, 20 or so.

- it can change itself into a mine (not exploding the player who 'took' the box)

- it may activate a hornet-overdrive (showing all the tanks tot the team)

- or act as an overdrive of any hull or of several hulls  (like wasp-overdrive effect combined with dictator overdrive effect) (random number of overdrives of random hulls)

- it may activate all overdrives of all tanks of the team without altering the cool-down time. so the next overdrive will be available at same delay as if no activation happened.

- expanding battle time (with a few minutes)

- deactivating one, a few or all enemy's control points (to neutral) or changing them of color

- made all enemy mines to explode (clearing the place)

- deactivating enemy's supplies in use leaving them like 'naked', but then restoring their cool-down times (honestly, I wouldn't chose this effect)

- in your team, all activate supplies (speed, armor and damage) are reset to zero, so it is as if it has been reactivated again. But no new supplies are used (non are removed of the player's supply stock)

- temporarily changing the gravity, or changing other parameters.

 

There can easily be 5 boxes at the same time on a map and 20 or 30 appearing in a battle... 

 

Anything is possible. And the more boxes, the more fun.

I hope your imagination or the imagination of tankers can expand this with new effects.

Addition (30-01-2020)

The idea primarily aims to some elements of surprise in the battle itself, and not (or not so much) to get more rewards to take home.

Also the boxes should be in a rather neutral color, so they are only/more visible from a short distance. 

The objective is to avoid attracting tanks "from the other end of the battle field", which would disturb to objective of the battle (capturing flags, controlling points, ...). 

Also, it can be switched on/off as a battle parameter when creating the battle.

Sounds pretty cool I guess. Might be possible as a limited time thing for April Fools event, since it's similar to the effect of random gold boxes we've had for the past 3 years.

still sick and tired of all these all these alteration magnum hornet noobs with protection on from themselves shooting me at close range. its a medium/long range turret, not a short range turret.

they're starting to use defender drones now which means they take a maximum of 400-500 shooting me at point blank with hornet overdrive, and even if I survive, after they shoot me at 100% power, they poop out another shot on the ground at 0% power two seconds later near you. I saw a guass hornet the other day with a guass protection and defender drone and it would ram and get as close as it could to enemy tanks because it couldn't aim for the two second charge up time and it kept damaging itself, but it didn't matter because of the protection module/defender drone combo

 

give the noobs with poor aim using long range turrets with splash damage their own self damage module

 

if it were my game, double armor, protection modules, defender drone would not protect against self damage. I use defender drone to cancel out all the over buffed alterations (rapid fire and added firebird effect alterations) and viking overdrive (6x the damage for 7 seconds with no movement of turret penalty), along with all the invisible mine spam that still hasn't been nerfed. So when I accidentally shoot too close an enemy with the guass super shot and the edge of the massive splash damage bubble clips me, but the defender drone halves the damage when I actually deserved to self destruct.

 

I dont even like defender drone, it's too over buffed. 20 seconds of 200% double armor? why? it should be no more than 10 seconds, or bring back 5 seconds of 300% double armor to block out viking overdrive and rapid fire shaft garbage. it doesnt even matter though because lifeguard drone is even worse. brutus drone is a joke
