Do You Feel Discriminated Against Because You Are "A Buyer?"

As the title suggests, buyers should not feel discriminated. Nice work @felony_1 for making them truly feel as part of everyone else.

I don't see why buyers would get discriminated against. The only issue I can recall seeing often on the forum and in battles is normal players either complaining that buyers shouldn't get privileges (which they don't) or that buying crystals is a "noob" thing to do and people only buy crystals to compensate for their lack of skill. Well, most of the time that's not true and the main reason why people buy crystals is to make their gameplay easier, more relaxing and comfortable. I've come here to PLAY and spend my free time taking a break from work, whereas other seem to come here to WORK and earn crystals by playing 24/7. I don't see the point in playing the game if you spend most of the time struggling to battle against stronger players and trying to earn enough crystals for the next update.

 

If someone were to accuse me of buying in a battle, I would just laugh at them. I mean - they are the ones playing the game for free and complaining, while I actually support the developers to help the future of my favourite game.

We are discriminated for not living in Russia too,

$40 = 2999 rubles, we get 130k with dcc, Russians get 330k with dcc for same money, this is outrageous

Would buy, but I don't have PayPal or a Credit Card, and SMS isn't worth it. I personally have nothing against buyers, Tanki needs buyers to stay alive, but what I do hate is druggers.

It's not their fault for such a poor power distribution based on crystal purchasing. It's Tanki's fault.

Tanki is to blame for the existence of such an OP dominating the battles. Tanki gave buyers the right to buy both upgraded combos, MUs, top paints and supplies. Think; four power parameters, all  for sale.

 

So, this topic doesn't even have a reason to be.

Iam lazer1786, Iam proud to be a buyer, i bought over 1500 USD (long time ago when there was drugs in all battles and not just smart supplies but the lovely 234 :D) we buyers supporting the game more then other people, we giving real money so tanki can pay their developers who realy have as job working for tanki (like semyon kirov) withous us they couldnt pay those people who are scripting and making tanki and give updates.

But anyways, buying giving you not realy much more power then other players, non-buyers can to get m3 m3, but they only get have mostly when they generalismo like 2 m3 hulls and 3 m3 turrents, we buyers have mostly like 5 m3 hulls and 5 m3 turrents (i got all m3+ but iam playing already for over 3 years) the non-buyers just got less choise what they equip, i think its fair, because then they maybe buy 10,- or 20,- so tanki can get money, and non-buyers dont cry, Tanki Online is a free game without adds, thx to so many buyers :D

I could answer your argument but it would be complicated with numbers and examples, so I have only one observation and a suggestion to offer.

 

Observation:  Things are not what they used to be after (1) supplies kits, (2) smart cooldown and (3) indroduction of hammer, vulkan, a dozen new paints (at the same time) and (4) rebalancing.

 

Suggestion:  Why don't you try to create a new account but without spending any real money? You would still have the advantage of experience over newbies. Try that for a couple of months* and then come here and say that it is still possible for the average player to advance normally without invesrting any real money, and therefore prooving that "buying giving you not realy much more power then other players".

People often call me a buyer , but

 

1. They usually say something like "gt out u noob kerved buyer", and it's hard to get offended by non-words.

2. The game is meant for buyers. Its really just the proportions that make it seem like buying is unethical. If 90% of players were buyers and the rest were not, I'm sure that we'd see "gt out noob u bad equip u no money" in the chats instead, and everyone would laugh at you.

OK OK, I don't mind the people who buy a little here and a little there, but seriously, if you have all the required M3's for your rank (except Generalissimo), then YES, I get a little annoyed. I can name a few people who I bet have spent over 1000$ USD on this game..

Although I agree that "donators" are an important part to why Tanki Online is running, and still developing new updates for the community to enjoy, I disagree that you are the ONLY reason why Tanki Online is running. Without both non-buyers and buyers, the community would not be like how it is today, and it would not be very large if only buyers stayed, and every non-buyer left. Would it make buying worth it, if you gain no real advantage if everyone were buyers? Hmmm.

 

I still feel like the biggest problem is how drugs are way too powerful. Take a tanker without drugs, and play it against a tanker with drugs, 1v1.

Same modification, same or different combination. The drugger will most likely win unless he either lags and disconnects, flipped over, or is incredibly stupid.

And Buyers would have easier access to kits, and would most likely have higher grade equipment, and paint. Though that I don't mind. (Though I was very bothered by the earlier kits that handed out Prodigi/Emerald/Inferno paints to Captain ranks, or lower with Inferno, and were very expensive which made it most commonly an item for buyers.)

 

And since they buffed health kit (which was unnecessary IMO), and weakened guns like Freeze, they further increased the gap between buyers and non-buyers by decreasing standard turret stats and buffing boosts. They returned Firebird to its original version pretty much, but before the burning time was cut in half, you could see how weakened Firebird had become, on top of drugs.

 

Though the above two sections would be only aimed at buyers who buy drugs. Buyers that buy only turrets/hulls/paints, I think it's not a big deal.

 

And if you play it out with drugged team vs. non drugged team, it's too sad/painful to look at. So it's the scenario of hop on the same team, or get destroyed. And then you'll have to basically pay 5,000 crystals a month to play fair games, for all ranks.

 

So yes, I think that's why people think of buyers as "no skill noobs." Simply put, the drugs overshadow their skills even if they do have skill. So it's not shown.

The non-drugged knows they have no chance on killing him/her unless they are wounded/flipped over. Lol. Not a display of skill vs. skill.

 

Though I have drugged back against druggers, won, and they started to call me noob even though they started drugging. . . . What a drag.

again, i agree - drugs = bad, but that's not the point.  it sounds like you are cool with rank appropriate buying of hulls/turrets.

 

i have a thousand or so of each drug - i hate using them, but if the other team is a "drug team," you do what you have to do.  all i can say in my defense is i don't ever draw first blood when it comes to drugging.

 

would you ever consider buying turrets/hulls, say, one rank lower if you had the opportunity - obviously not something ludicrous like 2 ranks or more - but, say, one rank?

if i COULD buy kits (meaning if my parents would buy me crys :)), i'd get boar, firewall, vesuvius, drug kits (you heard me :P), and soo much more :).

Off-the-cuff musing: I wonder if some of the frustratuon people feel or the pressure to create new accounts would cease if there was an option, free from crystal expenditure, to create and join drug-free and/or MU-free rooms. Then everybody wins. People would still buy to have the "best" equipment possible, the devs keep their income stream, and ALL players are happy and better matched with one another.

 

What do you guys think, and do you think if enough people are behind this idea, the devs would apply such a patch?

Supplies are precious for the shaking of an otherwise stable / flat battle.

Overuse is problematic though.

 

So, instead of a supplies' free mode, I think that a very positive step would be the following:

supply drops as usual but not garage supplies. MUs are not bad, especially after the last update that makes transision through Ms more smooth.

My dear kid, it makes you lots of things. Among them, insecure. Maybe of low performance in Tanki... if your income is not more than 2000 euros per month tit also makes you kina sucker (too much money to spend in a game that tommorrow may not exist and all your money become smoke)... it also idicates - but not for sure - that you are indifferent to what others can do or how they can compete with what you now have.

Last but not least, it makes you a person of low calculative power, sinse you give that money in this rank, you should know that when - and if - you become generalissimo you would have spend X 20, 30 or 50 today's amount.

All this for what? What do you really need all those drugs? Don't you get enough respect or friendship without them?

You may feel a bit provocative with what you say, but you should know, all I feel in responce is sorry for you. I hope someday soon you discover what can really give you joy in life. Certainly, not what you now think it does.

and yes i am fairly wealthy

 

as i say i can and will continue to buy in this game

because as i say i can

thats the way life is i am afraid to say

their are haves and have nots in this world

 

their are far more people in this world far richer than me

I am glad you are wealthy and that's the one thing that can justify the drugs you bought.

As for the rest, I 'm afraid that what I said is still valid.

 

Even if I could buy lots of supplies I wouldn't. Overuse is really bad for the game, except maybe for generalissimos, for reasons exposed in other similar topics. If you need them in order to proceed through ranks, well, something's wrong.

 

As for meeting me in battle, I have no objection, although I consider a bit childish this kind of "competition". What, we play a duel and the winner is the one that is right in the discussion? Primitive way of thinking.

 

Anyway... I wouldn't want to aquire an opinion about anyone that I can't see face to face.. Internet based opinions are not worth much.
