Do You Feel Discriminated Against Because You Are "A Buyer?"

Suggestion:  Why don't you try to create a new account but without spending any real money? You would still have the advantage of experience over newbies. Try that for a couple of months* and then come here and say that it is still possible for the average player to advance normally without invesrting any real money, and therefore prooving that "buying giving you not realy much more power then other players".

I and a few of my friends have done this very thing. I agree with you 100%. Skill becomes secondary within the first 10 ranks. The massive advantage given to those that buy the kits is almost overwhelming.  Can everyone buy these kits? YES, but non-buyers will have to wait a much longer time to earn enough crystals to buy the kits. Meanwhile, buyers can buy an endless supply of supplies, and kits. They soon become overpowered. To me this has got to be a huge discouragement to new players. I have a real hard time, and I have the skill new players haven't developed yet.

 

Don't misunderstand me. I'm a buyer as well or at least I used to be. I stopped buying for a few different reasons that I will not get into here. I appreciate those that want to support Tanki. However, I disagree with the massive power imbalance that buyers have. I didn't see it until I stopped buying. Having better equipment then everyone else lead me to believe I had more skill then I really did. When I stopped buying and the the advantages of being a buyer disappeared I realized I really was unskilled compared to many people I had beaten in the past. It took a long time to get my skills where they should be.

 

Being a buyer should mean that you get special perks that non-buyer don't get. These things should not give you a huge advantage on the battle field. They could be things like private chat rooms, flags and stickers for your tanks, custom avatars for the forum, and maybe even add-ons like the XT kits they tried but without adding any improvements. I saw people who already had what the XT kit offered buy them just for the cool look.

That's true; depending on the person really. I'll give the example of myself. Usually when I buy crystals, it's never really a "huge" amount. I buy that $10.47 package every time- 20k without DCC and 40k with it obviously. Also I'm rather limited as I use my secondary money supply which I only throw 20 bucks in 2 times a month; which is usually spent on other materialistic things I can actually benefit from. Back to my point, when I do buy that many crystals, I'd generally either save it if I wish, spend a few on supplies)(when I say a few I mean like 1k crystals per supply except repair, which adds to the number of supplies I do have which is again, limited), do some MUs, or focus on a new paint, or something like that. Kits on the other hand... I don't intending on grabbing any of those except ONE; Eyjafjallajökull(Just for Mammoth M3, don't really care for Vulcan M3).

I will say the "diehard" buyers do have more "power" than the occasional(like myself, I only buy every other month)or non-buyer has. I remember times where I'd "struggle" trying to combat someone who buys ALOT, and I still hit stalemates with certain players. I rely on my own power a lot of the time and I usually get by pretty damn good. But on the other side of the coin, I will start a drug war, just for the fun of it and see who gets who ya know?

I sat around for a long time with "mediocre" equipment, and to be honest I still think I do. I even tell people who think I'm a "skilled" player when they wanna battle with me, "I'm not all that good" and most of them take that. But really I'm in that "If I tell you I'm good, you might say I'm boasting. But if I tell you I'm no good, then you'd know I'm lying" situation. Honestly whether I use supplies or not, have decent MU on my Tank and Gun or not, I still try improving myself every time I play.

I went through a "dry" period where I wasn't buying for a LONG time(I'm talking months), and it was almost like survival ya know? I still go through those periods where I don't spend any money at all and just "survive" off of what I have available. There was time where I actually was one of those "mindless" druggers, it was like a freaking offense if someone killed me, then I'd just drug to screw them over. I don't do that now because I've come to understand that you can't use the supplies to bully on people. Even though that may seem fun to some people, you're hurting yourself really. I've come to respect the fact that someone's going to catch you off guard and destroy your tank, and you just have to learn how to take it and move on. Don't be that guy that gets pissed off when everything doesn't go the way YOU want it to go. "A quick temper will make a fool of you soon enough."

One of the reasons I'd like kits to be completely removed, ESPECIALLY for ranks where you know damn good and well you're not supposed to have an M3 Tank, Gun, and top quality paint. That makes me so sick and it needs to stop. It infuriates me to see something like a Colonel with M3 Hornet, Emerald, and M3 Thunder. Then it becomes like... my main objective to get rid of that specific player. So I batter the hell out of them to see if he can take it. If he can't, he'll bail out. And if he's got the guts, he'll fight back.

Hmm... I actually like this idea... the idea of XT being made available to me though... I'd rather not see it. OR maybe if they made XT versions of some of the OTHER equipment we have(Not just hornet and rail <_<)I'd probably like that

Yes I do I often get abused and made to feel bad in game because I have a tank kit but when I point out they should thank me as its players like me who keep the game going as without buyers the Admins and Mods would not pay for all this they go silent.

I am new and saving up is far to difficult I finish top 3 in most games but get very little reward I could not imagine life in this game without my credit card I really feel sorry for those who cant spend it must be awful and no wonder you are annoyed and hate spenders so much.  You really need to aim te anger on who makes it so difficult for you the spenders are not the bad guys we are just doing it because we have no choice the game would be awful without the money we spend because the rewards are simply not big enough to save 100k how long would that take you? I imagine a good year.

I don't know anything in regard to players actually discriminate or hate buyers.

Do you? I mean, do you actually know? Or is it that you have heard someone else saying that somebody else did discriminate against him?

I see people getting frustrated with druggers, with raiders and mults, but not buyers in general.

 

Secondly, you are right that the one to blame is Tanki itself for making the game so competitive. Under such stress, buyers try to exploitate every single opportunity for those precious crystals! And it's Tanki itself that must find a solution and restore balance and more crystals to the players.

The definition of the word "abuse" IS the improper treatment of an entity. Of course someone is going to whine about that. Why do you think there's hotlines for ___ abuse and ___ abuse, and any other hotline that involves abuse. And turning off the chat does nothing, you can still see the most recent messages for about 30 frames or so. If anything, the people are whining because they feel the game is unfair but are ignorant to the point where they just blame the person. 

 

Who goes to the internet to become a jerk? srsly tell me when going on the internet on your free time has made you feel worse and makes you more inclined to be a worse person. You shoudn't even be acting differently on the internet, it's not as if you decide to change your personality when you get on the internet.

 

Although I will just expect "oh why did you take so long to type this"
