Smoky's barrel

Recommended Posts

Could the barrel of smoky be enlongated? Similar to the hammer design change? It would be much easier to aim with it like thunder if the barrel was longer. I find the barrel too short. Thanks

Having a short barrel does not seam to prevent it from scoring hits at very long range against an almost totally hidden shaft and taking it out.  This happened on long bridges I think it is called.  It could never have happened in the past.  It is due to enhanced auto aim which appears to make the most impossible shots seam quite ordinary.  It is thought that too much assistance is given to some turrets in correcting poor aim.

I do find it difficult to aim at long ranges, but Smoky does better at medium ranges in that aspect.

But, it does MAX. damage at long ranges, so, if you got dem skillz...... B)

Correct me if I'm wrong , but I was under the impression that the auto aim was an up and down thing , not a side to side thing . If your aim is off to the left or right you will miss  , that's how mine works . I miss regularly , well , sometimes ....

If you elongate the turret, you slow down turret rotation speed. Smoky's fast turret rotation, critical hits, and faster reload time are what set it apart from Thunder; by lengthening the turret, you take away one of Smoky's best assets.

very true, most slow turning turrets have quite long barrels, but smoky is not suited for short-mid range, at mid range is where it is safe, long range damage and impact is pathetic, longer barrel=better aiming, most of the time i only see the barrel's tip if my camera view low, making it hard to aim, either longer barrel or make damage more at short range, smoky isnt as common as other mid range turrets, and most popular paints have 'some' smoky protection i hope it gets a slight buff

auto aim also facilitates sideways striking when off target.  i have most weapons and have demonstrated this also some time ago a developer admitted this.  It is very very difficult to take long way shot and hit even with shaft yet some cowboy comes out from behind a shed fires from the hip and takes down a minuscule target with hardly any aiming well on approximate aiming yet scores a hit.. I have done this with auto aim my self even with shaft I switched to arcade to make a hit I could not make and yet hit on arcade auto aim.  Railgun is very obvious.  Most weapons fir a shot their is a cone of predictability if a target is within that cone it will hit the target even if the aim was inaccurate.  It is their to flatter, to make people feel good to keep them playing.
