Leaving Tanki? Get your money back!

This ain't a joke, folks. It ain't a scam, either. For a limited time only, you can quite Tanki Online and get back money you've spent on it!

It all has to do with the new End User License Agreement (EULA). In case you haven't logged in for a while, I'll tell you what's up: When a person logs in, a box pops up asking you to read and agree to a new EULA. Now, I'm sure that many of you didn't read it, but I did, and what I found was interesting.

In section 5, Tanki Online said that it can (and will) change the EULA when it wants to. However, if someone does not agree to this new contract, Tanki is guaranteeing to "reimburse payments".

This is huge. If you've spent loads  of money on this game, but are really angry at how it has evolved, you can object to the new EULA, have your account taken from you, and your money returned. I'm not going to guarantee it will be easy and painless, but the option is there.

HOWEVER, the EULA also states that all complaints about the new EULA must be done within 10 days. Afterwards, sorry, you're out of luck.

All this is found from here: http://tankionline.com/en/eula/

(If I spent money on this game, I would do this.)

Upon your request we will reimburse payments for purchased Crystals which by the time the termination comes into effect have (i) been purchased and applied to the account and (ii) have not been redeemed in the Game already.

"Have not been redeemed in the Game already" limits this to the tiny amount of crystals you possess in your garage since your previous purchase, that have not yet been spent on items.

Highly unlikely that anyone who wants to leave the game would have spent any amount of money on crystals and still have them in their garage.

Absolute rubbish!  I still have 3/4 of a million crystals left and am on the verge of leaving.  I will not sign the new UULA.  I am unhappy with its wording and having looked up these agreements have seen that they can often involve incorporated spyware.  I have no positive proof that Tank does but it would not surprise me.  I am extremely unhappy with the game,  the way it has gone, the way it is heading the behavior, intransigence and provocative speech of certain developer and the heavy handedness of some moderators.  I am also very unhappy by the stance about allowing dating on chat.  I object to paying with real money for a product only to see it devalued and made less effective with appalling answers by developers as to why this is so.

I also know that their are many others who feel the same and they have spoken with me.

I believe that is only if Tanki online decides to cancell your account.

And then within 14 days they will refund any money that was spent on buying crystals.

But not any money that was spent during the time you were playing the game.

Just the money still in your account at the time tanki online cancelled it.

never mind , I was reading the wrong paragraph.

And how do we go about rejecting the EULA

You accept the EULA as long as you're playing the game or using the site. There's no way to reject it besides not using the site.

they can often involve incorporated spyware.

Tanki is a Flash game. You don't download anything by playing it, so it's impossible for Tanki to spy on your computer. They can see what game information is sent to the servers (that's why we can have multiplayer), but nothing else.

Good catch, though as Ilia said, if you're buying crystals, you're likely spending them right off, not stalk piling them up (... excluding that one guy who has a TWR of over 5 million crystals...). Anyway, seeing as how the ten days after publishing the new EULA, I think we're done here.
