D/L statistics in teammode - count point/Loss instead

For Teammodes only:

 

In Short:

cancel Death-to-Loss coutner

replace by Points-per-Loss counter

 

 

Explainiation:

In teammode some tanks have a real devestated death/loss count - some of them because they are supporters or flagrunners, which by nature make less kills. But they score a lots of points.

 

As in teammode the thing is about to help your team to win - and your benefit is measured in points - it would make sense to have no D/L but points/Loss.

 

If I can see how much points I count per Loss, then I know how effective I am.

Would the points be "Average Point score per kill"?

 

The advantages I see are:

  • Isidas will have a better score average in team battles, because some tankers I know get more points by healing team mates than by kills.
  • Kill stealing won't be as much of a problem, the points multiple tankers receive from 1 kill will be counted on all those players' score.

The only problems I see are:

  • The programming would be lengthy, I'd rather see Unity come out first.
  • This idea won't work for DM, because the point system in that mode revolves around kills.

Ehmm.. maybe I expressed myself unprecise:

- today we all earn points in team modes. When you press the TAB key you can see the points you have scored in this battle.

- the idea is to display the "points earned in this battle"-divided by-"number of deaths in this batle"

 

So then you have something you can really compare to your mates to see who was more efficient in respect to his lost tanks ;)

 

 

 

Agreed on the advantages.

 

To your spotted disadvantages:

- there is no programming effort. Today they divide two values, after the update they divide two values.

 You just have to go to the code and access another variable as source for the division..

- idea _would_ work in DM as well, cause there you get each time 10 points per kill (although there I would rather like to see a normal D/L counter)

Agreed. I always measure the effectiveness of players in team battles by the amount of points they have divided by 10, versus the deaths they have. Although that's not the most accurate measurement, it's still a lot more accurate than the D/L counter.

yes.. I judge them similar.

And I really think that the implementation is such a minor thing, as just another value (which is available) has to be divided.. and the same output mask could be used (and change the header from "D/L" to "P/L").
