What about that:

 

Just in team battles, you can't use your equipment if any other player can join your equipments higher version.

 

For example: 

Colonel rank battle.

Twins M2 unlocks previous rank

So Twins M1/M0 can't join

I am m1 but I easily fend off players above major general..... I like playing with high rankers so.....

I fully support this, I really think most mults would be blocked, and a lot of team gameplay unbalance issues would be solved.

 

Here is my opinion/addition to this idea:

 

From to are considered the M0 ranks,

From to are considered the M1 ranks,

From to are considered the M2 ranks, and

From to are considered the M3 ranks.

 

So, if you are a certain rank, you are only allowed to enter a battle with certain modifications.

For example, I am a Major, so I would only be allowed to enter a battle with M2 equipment.

(Of course, if a player does not have a M2, he is allowed to use M1.)

 

Same goes for any other rank, if you are a , then you are only allowed to use M3 equipment, and M2 ONLY if there are NO M3 Turrets/Hulls in your garage.

m0/m0 combos are very rare once above warrant 4, the worse u will see is m1/m0 combo, by major, most would have m1/m1 combo, maybe have no m0 equipment above warrant 4, and no m1 equipment above major and no m2 at gissmo
