Damage indicators - see exactly how much damage you inflict

Recommended Posts

Are you kidding me? 90% of forums cant read correctly? The worst forum ive ever seen.
About idea, i like it. All those who disagree, give me reason? Anything about health bars? Just go and die ok?
Quote this and post down below where you saw him talking about health bar?
Its just simple -45hp
-50hp
-2hp and so on. No health bars. Only numbers without showing current hp left!

It's fun when you have litterally 1hp left and people don't aim at you. :D

ikr . Happens a lot especially when I use mammoth and people don't bother trying to face me head on cause they don't realize they could kill me with a M0 Smoky :D

The idea is not a visible enemy health bar, the idea is that WHEN you damage an enemy tank YOU (not anyone else) are shown how much damage your one hit has done. I personally think this is a great idea, since guns most of the guns have fluctuating damage rates and it would be fun to know if you're hitting near your max.

(For example: 44.0-69.9 for Thunder M2.)

This would also be nice to see when you are hit, so you could know if your enemy is micro upgraded, but again, you and the tank who hit you would only be able to see this, not every tank nearby.

+1 for this idea, I hope something like this is implemented.

Why don't you show the damage as-is? its not a damage indicator anymore, for example Railgun deals -100HP damage , the damage indicator will show -7496309^444HP , How is this damage indicator now????? FYI we are not SuperComputers

Whaatt are you talking about??

If a railgun will do -100HP damage, it will just show as -100HP, not -7496309^444HP

It will be multiplied by 10, This is not how a damn Damage Indicator works , it MUST show the damage dealt As-DAMN-IS

I Suggest you re-watch the VLOG

Well, if the damage by guns will be multiplied x10 and armor of tanks x10, what is problem?

^^^^^^^^^^ stupid, Railgun deals 100HP , then it will be multiplied by 10 which means = 1000HP but it still deals 100HP , this is simply to confuse players

Eh.. No. Everything multiplied by 10 means railgun will deal 1000 HP damage. The hull protection will also, obviously, be ×10. This has been done only to avoid decimal point confusion.

wth why

Well, because if twins deals a damage of 15.9 and railgun deals a damage of 159, those two numbers can be confusing at a distance.. If you multiply it by 10, you'll get 159 and 1590 damage respectively. That will be much easier to read.

k that seems to be more comprehensive

If people need the Damage Indicator (DI) then it is good that They (the developers) are working on it. ;)

My main request is to have a switching option mode to put it on and off, so tanker can choose to have it or not.

It could be added in the setting windows Settings_icon.jpg, it is a quick and agile system, if you quickly change your mind in the middle of the battle (or concerned about lag).

DI would have some pros and cons.

Pros:

* can clearly see damage to opponent (you can compare your guess work against real value)

* it is a way to better catch cheater (you would see if something normal or out of ordinary - and actually record it on video) :D

Cons:
* risk of crowding the screen more especially in fierce battle around a CP.

* it still doesn't tell the enemy health status (full, half, nearly dead,...)

* the mutiplicating factor will create confusion in the current proposal (it's already happening in this topic) - You sell hull on one value, but then you have to multiply by 10 in the battle, you also loose all your benchmark you have learn during playing the game. You can't call HP in the garage and HP in the game as they both have different value. 157 HP in garage will become 1570 HP in battle. either your change  the name of HP in Battle or multiply by 10 all the HP in garage. Same for the damage value for turret.

Couple of questions:

For far away tank, will the DI be displayed? how big?
For Vulcan, freeze and Firebird, how it would be displayed?

For Firebird, does the after-burn would be displayed?

For Vulcan, when they over heat, will other player see how much HP they lose?

For the mine, will we see the DI too? as they variea from 120-240 hp (or should I say 1,200 - 2,400 HP)

^ it needs quick swich too. Sometimes when you are in middle of battle and you wonder if you even deal damage to someone it can be too long to enable it or disable it if u use shaft.

True, the other option would be a letter from the keyboard that could do that. But I'm not in the favor of this option as my experience with the V key. I already can't block the V key. We should not have to hold it to see or not see. Just press it one time, ON, press a second time OFF.

What would be your preferred letter?

For me it would be "I" for indicator. And it's far from other command or the key "6".

I still prefer the the setting windows Settings_icon.jpg as it will remember your preference when you start a new session.

I'm skeptical about this one. As said earlier it might crowd the screen.. I believe it's mainly a feature for newbies, because people like us already roughly know what damage our turret deals and we can use the wiki for accurate details of such parameters. As Hazel said, sometimes enemies can be 2-shot instead of 1-shot at times if turret doesn't deal max damage, but I think we can let the luck factor stay in such cases.. and the point about protection that he made is obviously ruled out since we can now clearly see what protection the enemies have by pressing R

I think this should be implemented for lower ranks
