Why people delay to take the flag?

I'm old and probably don't get the point...

...but why a consistent number of players when getting the flag intentionally go around without conquering it??

What's the advantage??

They delay in taking the deserved points and reduce the possibility to the other players of the team to score with the flag.

Moreover they risk to be hit by the opposite team and lose the flag (and the points).

Some of them go back in the battle carring the enemy flag risking even more!

Is there some "selfish" or "team" tactics behind this, to me weird (if not kiddish...), behaviour??

I honestly don't get it: can someone explain if this is beyond human stupidity or just confined in it???

Thank you!

Hum, let me tell you an example. Let's say you're playing a 100 flags match, and your team is winning 99-2, and there's only 1 person on the other team. Someone will take the flag, and might not capture it so you get bored and leave, and he gets more fund. If he's pushing you and trying to flip you, he wants you to self-destruct so you lose points, and he gets A BIT more of fund. It's such a waste of time, not only for you but for him too.

Yes, people is selfish like you said. I even did that once, and I see how if I capped I could've gotten time to play another battle, and get even more crystals.

Sometimes people don't capture as a courtesy to the other team, when there are less players on the other team and the game is unfair. On larger and more rare maps, it's totally possible that the person with the flag got lost  :P

If it's last flag they are probably either waiting for a Gold Box or to rise the fund more.
If they just aren't capturing nor letting other capture, they are most definitely mults and saboteurs which you can report to be banned here :

Game violators section and report there.  But please, make sure you read the section rules before posting.

I am with you though your rank suggests more understanding to game.

Many times hiding the flag is to prevent the opposite side from making even more captures in a sudden united frenzy which may occur. I hate hiding flag but often it is because our flag has already been stolen but still on its way so I cannot get it done. Now that you said it, somehow my D "drop flag" has not operated so teammates think I am an ***** who awaits to die before giving it up
