Reduce power of garage supplies

Maybe it's time for some real thoughts and not just superficial repetitions of nonsense.

 

Let's compare the situation before SCD and after SCD.

 

Before RUSTY BARELLS II (that's the true moment of change) most players did not use supplies except from special occasions, i.e. around the flag or when the difference in score became a problem. CTF battles were evolving without many supplies involved.

Druggers before the SCD were few, basically using all three power ups when attacking.

 

Then came the RUSTY BARRELS II, the "mistake" of giving away tons of supplies to all the players and then, all of a sudden more players appeared with two or three supplies on.

That was the beggining of complains for druggers.

 

Tanki's respond to the complains was SCD. Theoretically to prevent 2-3-4 phenomenon. Most players believed it.

One could immediately after SCD notice that while before, certain people only were on drugs, after, the situation changed. Most people had one or two active drugs.

 

That is, while before only a small percentage was using drugs as standard, afterwards, that percentage grew rapidly!

(why? it's obvious. Since SCD did not allow the activation of a supply for some seconds after another one was activated, most people activated one supply as precautionary measure even before they need it. Just so that if needed, a second one could be activated)

 

For a while, one could see that only rarely did a player have all three supplies activated, but most players did use - as a precaution - one or even two supplies. So, in reality, SCD increased the use of supplies. Some of us said it at that time, but who listened...

After a while, when drop points where located and filed by everybody, one could see all three supplies quite often, thus the new druggers complains started.

 

But now, it's not 3 supplies vs none, but 3 supplies vs 1 or 2. (that's a fact, not an opinion)

That is, for all that can afford to buy supplies kits.

(supplies kits are the other half of the story. Lots of supplies make the drug-frenzy reality and thus it is true that Tanki did aim in promoting the supplies use, even when hypocritically it said that SCD was for the common good and against druggers - what a bold lie!)

 

So, start to think for your self and stop eating without chewing what they serve you.

Problem is not about druggers total amount. Problem is how much can a drugger break the balance.

One 234+1 is a lot worse full of one-drug team. 

 

Also, now also non-buyers are also have a small chance to drug back, because you don't need to use them together.

Tanki Devs, the following series of pictures show clearly and without any doubt that SCD was a joke and today druggers not only ruin the game for many of us that keep the use of supplies in a reasonable flow, but slowly ruining Tanki as well, since they turn battles into one sided slaughter. 


 


This will only lead people away and send Tanki to the list of once-great-games-that-now-are-forgotten.


Take this into consideration and know that a Unity-based Tanki that has not reduced the power of top buyers to make this game a private and sadistic playground will mean Tanki's undoing.


For the last time, I protest not as a non buyer but as a small buyer that feels really frustrated and dissapointed by the way you treat people that have given you money.

I hope that Tanki Administration will acknowledge the issue and act as a responsible management.

Problem is not about druggers total amount. Problem is how much can a drugger break the balance.

Also, now also non-buyers are also have a small chance to drug back, because you don't need to use them together.

I have to say though, I don't agree with the last sentence of yours. Drugging back can not - should not - be the anti drugging measure. There's no such thing as fight fire with fire here... it's more a case of violence generates violence.

 

Anti drugging measures should involve less use of supplies, not more. A transfer of income from supplies kits to another item or facility maybe.... that's for Tanki Administration to find out, in the comming future.

 

It already has increased the excpected income of MUs after the last update. But, more MUs + all the previous power ups for top buyers will only make the issue worse.

Soon a new group of Godmode_on will appear, raiders with fully MUed combos. I already have felt the "touch" of a M4 thunder with DD..

One shot kill even while using rustle.  :blink:

Wait, you haven't MUed your hornet? MU are a must after unlock rank for m3 imho... At least they give a chance to survive normal m2-3 druggers

I haven't MUed all parameters of my hornet. It costs a lot of crystals to do so. And untill recent update, a lot of time too. But since now an item can be used while is being MUing, then all that have the crystals (=money= top buyers) can fully MU their favourite combo within a couple of weeks.

That's why I said that soon a new wave of super combos will appear and raid normal battles.

After this Tanki birthday set of upgrades and MU's - I can see some tankers are in for a shock - I've noticed even my own setup (M2 Wasp and M2 Rico) is getting as bad as an M2 Thunder and M2 Hammer - and this is annoying people by it's sheer 'knock out' power.

I even managed to get 2nd spot in a relatively benign 15 min game (low garage drug use) against higher ranked players (6 ranks above me on Temple) - I used zero garage drugs.

I suspect all this will cause greater imbalance in most  matches, i.e. putting on DD is so much more OP - there is simply no sport in using this every time I spawn.

Could you please explain me what it exactly means? „copy and paste this into a series of updates“ Should I copy your questionnaire or yellow message and copy to ?? what is series of updates? Sorry I’m not a native EN speaker but I would like to support each activity to split the usual players and the drugers. Thanks for the explanation.

Very few of my ideas go any further than a single post.

but I do like the idea of having a poll to get an idea of the strength of feeling.

and as I point out Tanki appears to be fearful of publishing the results of a Poll on the over use of drugs - so we have to invent are own method.

So yes - just copy and paste my list of questions from the person before you and add 1 to each Vote count.  Then the next person does the same.

This way each idea gets more votes or not (best not to do any 'down' votes).

 

Here is my list with one more vote added to get the ball rolling.

(Maybe someone has a better idea for counting votes?)

 

Please feel free to add new options if you wish.

You may add a 'vote' to any item you wish (no minus votes).

1.         I want Tanki to do something about the over use of Supplies in 'standard mode'                            Vote Count:2

2.         I want Tanki to help make Pro Mode more popular (cheaper) (so we can make us of it)                    Vote Count:2

3.         Because Pro Mode is not popular - I would like Tanki to provide 2 modes in standard mode - 'Sport More' with 'less drugs' and 'Supplies Mode' (as is) = tanker choice                        Vote Count:2

            (The 'less drugs' option could be done simply by extending the smart cooldown time - or limiting garage drugs use to say Max 3 of each kind per 15 minutes.)

4.         I would like 2 special paints (no protection) - 1 for people who are 'Sport Mode' Players and 1 for people who are 'Supplies Mode' Players               Vote Count:2

            (This will allow 'grudge' matches from the two opposing camps to be played on each others 'home ground' ('Sport Mode' or 'Supplies Mode'.)

5.         I would like Tanki to try a one day experiment where the 'leading side' gets longer smart cooldown times the more they go into the lead - this could be a Pro Mode option.            Vote Count:2

            (Aim to help balance the matches the longer the battle goes on - effectively make the weaker side stronger the more they go behind.)

6.         I would like Tanki to try a one day experiment where only 1 garage drug can be activated at a time (including dropped supplies)      Vote Count:2

7.         After each 'experiment' listed above - Tanki should do a poll to see what Tankers think (and ideally act on the results).            Vote Count:2

8.         I'm happy with Tanki 'standard mode' as it is           Vote Count:0

9.         I think all the people who want reduced drugs in 'standard mode' are old farts                   Vote Count:0

10.       I don't have time to read this thread and I think all tankers should just pay up and use Pro Mode              Vote Count:0

11.       If Tanki can sell me non performance related items (T-shirts, special markers ('bling') on my tank) then I will be a buyer   Vote Count:2

 

on Point 2 - I'm happy if Tanki adjust the price of Pro Mode each month to prevent it being too popular - i.e. no more than approx 50% of battles at each rank (500 crystals for Pro Mode is a starting point).

Point 4 could lead to more drugs being bought and used! (Tanki take note.)  I for one would love a chance to blast all those druggers off the map and would pay money to do it!

people were complaining about druggers before smart cool downs, tanki Nerfed them hugely and players are still complaining . man is never happy with something until it is gone

 

It amazes me that bravo30 seems to be accept the current situation.

 

None of us are asking for drugs to be removed - we're just asking for the number of garage drugs to be reduced (one way or other) because we see too many battles 'ruined' by the imbalance caused by the over use of garage drugs by a few tankers which then causes the losing team to quit - which is bad for all of us.

 

Imbalanced matches are no fun whichever side you're on - unless you have a personality that considers it fair to pulverise other people for your own personal gain (and we know we have quite a number of those!)

 

When Tanki set the smart cool down (SMD) parameters - they did so based on internal testing with testers who had 'unlimited drugs'.

Hence, they got the balance wrong - they simply need to set the SMD parameters longer to prevent a small percentage of tankers over using garage drugs and ruining the game quality.

 

Another way would be for Tanki to allow the 'Sportsman players' to be kept separate from the Druggers.

This can be done in Pro Mode - however, we can't use Pro Mode because very few buy access to it.  I buy Pro Mode access every Month - but I mostly can't find any suitable big battles - so it's a waste of crystals for me.

 

 

A 'helper' has explained to us that less than 10% of tankers actually pay for drugs - i.e. this is roughly 1 tank per side (10 tanks per side).

However, random selection means we will get 2 or 3 'fully drugged' on one side from time to time - I find about 2 in 5 battles are ruined by 2 or 3 druggers.

This leaves 2 in 5 that are ruined because some tankers lack the skills of the others - this causes the same imbalance (we can't fix this until we can measure the skill level of each tanker and use this to control the 'make up' of the teams).

1 in 5 are "good" balanced battles for me (entertaining win or lose)  = close matches - this ratio gets a bit worse on my highest ranked accounts (Captain and above).

 

(We do note that some Gizmo's have nothing to spend crystals on and so will drug to a higher percentage and many of their battles are ruined by the imbalance caused by the simple fact that a skilled tanker with full drugs will more easily outperform a less skilled person with full drugs.)

Because of daily drops and some 'kits' - some Free to Play tanks will be able to go 'fully drugged' for a few matches.

 

Surely bravo30 has witnessed many of these 'ruined' battles same as the rest of us?

All we're trying to do is reduce the number of times this happens and we have noticed that when less garage drugs are used, the 'quality' of most battles goes up.

 

Just by reducing the number health packs used will make a big improvement - simply make the smart cool down time longer for garage health packs.

I would suggest increasing the SMD for all garage drugs - say twice as long - Tanki can just experiment with this or better still allow us to choose this parameter in some simple way on battle setup (say 5 settings from 1 to 5) - then we get to choose the 'balance' and Tanki don't have to bother.

I do like RustyNail's proposal for reducing the effectiveness of drugs (by percentage effect) i.e. the more you have on board the less powerful they become.

It is unacceptable  to me that the team who is drugging the most and has gained a comfortably lead - then continues to use garage drugs and destroy the few players that remain.  They seem unaware that human players are on the receiving end!  Some have said that's because they want as many crystals as they can get.  I.e. they don't really care if all the losing side quits.

 

Hence, I see two 'main' types of player - those who want a 'sport' and those that set their goal to get as many crystals as possible to gain advancement in the game - and don't care if by the over use of garage drugs they have gained an unfair advantage.

It is my belief that these two sides should not be mixed and we should be allowed to choose to keep both side apart using 2 game modes:

1. "Sport Mode": this one will have the most balanced battles because of the 'reduced' garage supplies (longer Smart Cool Down times).

2. "Supplies Mode": this one probably gets the most crystals because of higher killing rate (and so will remain popular) (although will still cause the losing side to quit)!  I predict most players will avoid this mode - even the children!

 

Because Tanki refuses to do anything about the over use of drugs and refuses to make Pro Mode more popular at all ranks(cheaper).

(Please note - even in Pro Mode it's not possible to have a 'reduced drugs' mode as we have been requesting, all you have is:

1.         No garage drugs and no air drops (skills only - can get too 'tedious', by repeating the same attack over and over.)

2.         No garage drugs and air drops (quite a good mode, however, sadly prevents the use of mines and prevents the use of health packs at gold box time!)

3.         Smart cooldowns and airdrops (same as Standard Mode - gets abused by the druggers - causing imbalance and the losing team to quit.)

4.         Full drugs (only druggers can afford to use this and results in badly imbalanced matches in which the losing team quits.)

It is to be noted that the recent Helpers v Player competition did NOT allow garage drugs (only air drops) - is this an admission by Tanki that too much drug use causes the matches to be 'unsporting' = too one sided and is therefore poor entertainment.)

 

What can be done without the co-operation of Tanki?

 

We tried the use of Pro Mode on EN3 - but sadly this did not take off - very few tankers have bought a Pro Mode pass.

 

This is what I'm doing:

I'm now wearing 'red paint' on all my tanks to show that that I'm a 'Sport Player' = reduced garage drug user.

1.          I use no drugs when my side is leading except for the odd mine.

2.         I only use drugs when I try to catch gold boxes or if I'm in my base holding the flag.

3.         Sometimes I use drugs when on the losing side in order to counter act druggers on the leading side.

4.         Air drops are fine to use - although I think the leading team needs to take care not to 'abuse' them too much - i.e. try to keep a sense of sportsmanship.

 

How many people will join me in promoting the use of 'red paint' as a way to identify all the sportsmen?

This way we can 'gang up' and use our collective skills to beat the druggers.

If you see anyone wearing red paint and is not showing 'sportsman' like behaviour - tell them the paint is no longer allowed for them.

 

Please promote the use of red paint for sportsmen at every opportunity you can.

Together we can make a move on this.

I.e. all the red players join the same side and leave the druggers on the other side.

 

We may have to make a battle by battle judgement on what we must do to beat the drugging side (this could mean we can agree to put our full paint protection back on and even drug full time!)

The point being that we can try and 'stuff' the druggers at every opportunity we can.  If we do this well enough the druggers will not even want to play Tanki! or Tanki will be forced to provide a way to keep the sportsmen and druggers apart (except when we choose to prove who is best = 'grudge' matches sportsmen v druggers.)  In my other recent contribution I proposed ways to do this.

 

Sadly in practice by using red paint I get no protection from rail guns who one shot kill me (= no fun) and so sooner or later I have to put on Forester or Tundra etc.

However, my first battle of the day is always with red paint to show my protest and help spread the message! :0)

Hands up if are you a Sportsman or are you a Drugger?

I want to see MANY red tanks out there.

I have been a a non-drugger for a part of this account's history, and now I'm a massive drugger, drugging always when I can, but before, it sucked, I know that, but at the present, it isn't any different.

At low ranks, druggers are something annoying, mainly because of the drugs they use, because a lot of low ranks cannot afford, but focus on other combos instead. But then, drugs are not that much of a problem, it depends mostly on combos, because at the middle ranks, people play with others with higher modifications, mostly because of product kits. And then, at very high ranks (From my experience on my high account), you cannot survive without drugs, like, at all.. You will find every single combo strong, this is why everyone drugs at high ranks, and this is why PRO battles are popular there, you either fight or go play without supplies, which are usually long battles.

Also, buyers deserve an advantage, this is why they buy crystals, for example, on game consoles, you buy a map in a game which hardly anyone has, this is an advantage over other players, the same goes here, if they play a balanced game, it wouldn't urge them to purchase more.

The point is, I know you did the math and everything, and found that drugs make the turrets much, much stronger, but they're part of the game, and it works the same for everyone, every modification gets the same damage increase.

The only thing I think should be done, however, is do something about supplies in low ranks, because low players become hopeless quickly, because they have to face druggers, even if they can afford PRO battle passes, which is rare, these battles are not popular, but for higher ranks, drugs are a must to have.

I have a great idea for anyone seeking to get drugs, first of all, save for a good product kit with above 600 supplies each, or buy them in a discount, then only use them when necessary, when you have a high score in a battle you have a chance of winning, and collect daily gifts everyday, believe me, your drugs will only increase this way, and you'll have thousands of drugs later, I did this and never ran out of drugs (Except repair kits, of course, that's why you shouldn't use them often), despite I drug every time I can.

But in your rank, it's a hopeless case without drugs, so you should get some, in case of emergency, at least, so good luck with that.

Instead of that, play DM and get the highest score after druggers, then get crystals as a short team games winners.

This is more profitable anyway.

Unless double fund days, drugs never gives what have been spent. 50 crystal is way too much.

Not playing is more efficient than playing wtih drugs, unless as I said, ıIf you use them on x2 days, and especially DM games.

I play drug battles and battles with limited drugs - and I always buy my pro pass (which I can't use most days).

I simply find the battles with limited drug use are the best.

I have thousands of drugs that I don't use (apart from Health packs and mines) - so that's not the problem.

 

The 'unlimited drug' day proved that giving unlimted drugs to both sides does not work -

the reason is the imablance gets worse - bad players can't use them and so the strong simply wipe the other side away.

 

I find ways to play even 'as is' and get many good results - it's just sad to see so many battles ending in the losing side quiting - limited drug use improves on this situation and it's sad that Tanki will not try it, even for one day - all they have to do is simply extend the Smart cool down time to twice or 3 times the current parameters and you will see the improvement in the 'quality' of many battles.

I would agree totally with you, but for two small details.

 

One, massive supplies usage, gives players only higher speed, nothing more. Unbalanced use on the other hand, which is really the case as you can see in all of my footages, makes for an extremely unbalanced battle (which usually ends very soon and produces only low funds, let along players' rage).

 

Two, your advice to players is they sould buy supplies for an emergency. Have you considered the possibility that some players can't afford to buy supplies? If you wonder why I say this, just remember that it's a global game played by many different monetary systems... Not all are wealthy as a british or a german may be. And then, do the maths. You'll find out that most of the cases one player can invest either to upgrades / paints or to supplies, not both.

 

If you take those two details into consideration, you will most probably end in our shoes. :)

People say just drug against a buyer, but they have more repair kits and drugs than you. Conclusion: Don't drug much against a buyer or you will loose supplies FAST.

i don't know about you guys, but i feel that it would be best to summarize your opinions down to 2 paragraphs, because it is becoming increasingly difficult to read everyone's rants and suggestions on how to better the game because it is an essay length! there are probably great ideas which are lost because it is covered up with 1 page long responses and rants....

Hey guys, don't worry. The sum up is ready and will be published today. It contains no "rants", or unnecessary repetitions.

It took us a while to construct it, because what we did I think is a good document.

It has the form of single sentences that represent an aspect of the problem or a proposal for the solution. All documentary is included in spoilers so that it does not weary those who are not familiar with long text.

I ask you to upvote the sum up and the original (#1) post if you appreciate the time it took us to deliver such a documentation of one of the major issues that endanger the game.

Tanki Devs, the following series of pictures show clearly and without any doubt that SCD was a joke and today druggers not only ruin the game for many of us that keep the use of supplies in a reasonable flow, but slowly ruining Tanki as well, since they turn battles into one sided slaughter. 

 

This will only lead people away and send Tanki to the list of once-great-games-that-now-are-forgotten.

Take this into consideration and know that a Unity-based Tanki that has not reduced the power of top buyers to make this game a private and sadistic playground will mean Tanki's undoing.

For the last time, I protest not as a non buyer but as a small buyer that feels really frustrated and dissapointed by the way you treat people that have given you money.

Today we have completed the sum up of this topic and will present you a list of all the problems that are related to supplies' excessive use as well as a list of all the possible solutions that have been proposed by certain players. I hope that Tanki Administration will acknowledge the issue and act as a responsible management.

 

Tanki should remove supplies and let go of the elite who will refuse to spend on the game without them

 

And make gameplay more dynamic in all ranks and attract new buyers who do not have to rely on supplies to win the game

I swear every marshal game i have joined yesterday had hardcore druggers in it, and it got so boring i decided to do it myself just to save the team from being completely obliterated, game is getting very unbalanced if not unbalanced already, in terms of map popularity, map variation and weapon advantage, take all into consideration and i'd be right :D

 

Promoting drug kits, and increasing the power rather than effectiveness of the supplies has now ruined the game for supply matches almost indefinitely, and its quite sad to see
