Reduce power of garage supplies

Recommended Posts

Squeeeeeeee!!! :D

I got to play with I-N-S-T-I-N-C-T! Well, okay... I got to play with him on his alternate account, but still. We did a 1v1 (he creamed me, 7:1), and then a few 2v2's with random players, and won every time! Mostly due to him. XD

And I really, really suck at Rail, apparently. I need to practice it a lot more.

But still... that guy's a-freaking-mazing! :D I am soooooo humbled!

Good for you, but I'm unfamiliar with INSTINCT.

AlphaNinjaGirl, are you sure that your drugs-per-hour estimates are accurate?

Is there anyway we can meet up on the battlefield so that you can publicly shame me after?  I'd like to get it over with...  I'm in US Central Standard Time Zone.

Also, I have a question: are mines drugs or not?  I love mines and I would be happy to field a hull that has no turret at all because I prefer to use mines.  I drive around a map observing the places where almost any tank has to drive and place mines accordingly.  I love getting on top of another tank and dropping a mine on it more than anything in the game!  I think a mine is like a shot from a gun but at the same time mines are supplies.  I mostly buy them with my winnings I buy them with real money once in a while...

Cheers,  Nrvus.

I wouldn't really consider mines to be a drug. If you use them effectively, they can be very fun and strategic to use especially if the enemy team doesn't know you have them. I would consider them to be drugs fi a player just randomly plops one down out of nowhere in a completely random spot then constantly drugs to stay alive to make sure that mine gets put to use. Unlike the other supplies, mine takes a while to master. You need to be familiar with where the mine will be dropped, a good time to drop it, and getting the mine drop-to-activation timing correct. :)

Exactly. They can register on the forum (if they haven't already) and defend themselves, but they choose not to. See how everything works out in the end?

Ahhh. But do they kniw about these posts on the forum?

So am I, but... apparently he's a 4-year ESports player. I forgot which team he plays for, need to ask him again. But I did some 2v2's with him... he's really, really good.

And he seems to think I'm good, even though I know I suck with Rail... *shrugs*

AlphaNinjaGirl, are you sure that your drugs-per-hour estimates are accurate?

Yep! Since the update didn't carry over drugs used or hours played, it started counting drugs per hour after the update went into effect (which is why I have like 25 gameplay hours at 2nd Lieutenant). If you add up all the drugs they've used, and divide it by all the hours they've played, you get drugs/hour. ;)

Is there anyway we can meet up on the battlefield so that you can publicly shame me after?  I'd like to get it over with...  I'm in US Central Standard Time Zone.

Oh, um... are you asking for a 1v1, or are you just upset that I'm calling out druggers for being druggers? I honestly can't tell.

The only reason I really say "hey, this guy's a drugger" is so that if anyone here runs into them, they know to avoid them. Also, on the off chance that any Tanki devs look at this topic, I'm giving them plenty of proof that drugs are imbalanced. I'm not trying to make anyone upset, and I'm really sorry if that's what I'm doing, but they're kinda shaming themselves by being drug addicts.

If they're blatant with their drugging in the game, they should have no problem with me being just as blatant about them here in the chat.

Just like if someone said "AlphaNinjaGirl is addicted to nitro because she thinks her tank is too slow!" Yeah, I might be upset, but I can't blame them for saying that. It's true.

Also, I have a question: are mines drugs or not?

Yeah dude, I checked your profile. 2K mines used? You must really like 'em! XD

I don't think mines qualify as drugs, so long as you're not CONSTANTLY using them to get an edge over the enemy team. If you're a sniper and you wanna protect your butt from my flamethrower, then I understand. But if you're a Mammoth/Twins with a pocket medic trying to protect the flag and your mines are as dense as crap on a cow ranch, we need to have a talk.

Also spawnkilling with mines is kinda mean. Spawnkilling one guy once with a mine is okay. Spawnkilling the same guy twice with mines is annoying. After the third time I think it becomes a problem.

The funny thing about spawn killing is that it never has to happen.  You can [and should] start moving before your tank fully spawns.  Some people think they have to sit still until their tank is opaque.  All I can do is try to help them see the light by laying a mine in their tank...

In any case it might be fun to 1v1, but I can't behave as badly in a 1v1 battle as I can in something bigger.. maybe I just hope that I'll get noticed and be worth writing about for my small kill to loss ratio or my arrogant health kit use or my shameless drug and kit buying.

In any case your dishonorable mentions have become something I look forward to reading every day...

They probably don't but they can expect them. If i'm calling them out in battle and complaining about them they can expect to hear me ranting about them elsewhere as well. They just gotta look for it. Like you said, they can look for it, but they choose not to. ;)

Or they just can't find it, which is too bad for them, just like their attitude is "Oh you can't drug/fight back? That's too bad for you."

Still, everything's fair ;)

Well i come back and i find you noobs still fighting over something that tanki will never change xD

So if we're all unknowledgeable noobs then why are you still here reading our "nonsense" if it's "stupid"?

If you don't want to help or contribute, then go away; don't even think about replying to this if you don't want to get involved. Seriously, I never understood why people write "Who the hell cares" if they don't care about it. If they don't care about it then they shouldn't even get involved in it. -_- So simple and easy to do, yet it seems so hard for them to do...

So for the last time, leave. Any further post you make insulting us or flooding or not contributing can and will be reported.

I see no contribution made by you. If you think this is worthless, then don't come back. I think it's of value and if you don't, cool. Don't come back to this topic then.

I quite agree that a good percentage of revenues come from drugs ... the point is that we are not talking about a close-to-zero balance but million dollars earnings. I made some estimations from their published data to work that out. So I think they could "reduce" those huge earnings for the game balance and satisfaction sake. And they could rise revenues up with alternative earning ways like billboards or cosmetics selling.

On Tanki-X I am not sure how someone here discovered that Tanki is doing something about drugs. Anyway I hope they are doing something!

Maybe (I hope) Tanki devs realised the economic efficiency of what someone here called "cosmetics" (RustyNail did), and I stretch the word to every non-power item they can sell (like gifts for example).

Actually it was not me the one that talked about cosmetics.

I don't remember who it was, but it was in a topic about power selling. It was there, a suggestion for Tanki to reduce power selling and replenish it partly with cosmetics selling or facilities selling.... which, btw, I find a great idea.

What I did was to present the four elements of power that all are provided to players through sales.

1. Superior modifications and wider range of combos (buyers aquire them way before non buyers)

2. More paints (buyers purchace a wider range of paints than non buyers)

3. More MUs (buyers can afford them while non buyers can't)

4. Unlimited supplies through supplies kits (buyers can have much more than non buyers)

It would be a good thing that at least one of those elements would be out of the sales area. The easiest thing to do is get supplies out of selling ( and provide them as drops only, or special bonus for missions) so that at least this element is left to skill and luck and not to money.

Back from more intense Rail/Hornet-ing with I.iLLuZioN. I swear I feel really crappy when it comes to that gamemode, but... eh, he seems to think I'm okay. We took on a Lieutenant General and Colonel and won 3 out of 4 rounds, so I think we did okay.

...Sorry, that doesn't have anything to do with drugs, does it? Well ahh... I know I might get a lot of backlash for this, but I'mma say it.

The PRO pass is actually really awesome. It takes some smart battle-hunting (and a LOT of battle promotion), but once you're in a battle, you can play for hours and hours and hours without drugs. It's like heaven...

To be honest, I was super skeptical about it, but I've only had the pass for 2 days and I've already gained more than enough crystals to buy three of them. I realize it's not the answer to solving the drugging problem in the WO or lower ranks, since in those ranks you're more focused on buying other stuff (like M1's), but if you've 5K and are willing to try something new, give it a shot. At the very least you'll play with it long enough to regain your 5K.

-

That being said, apparently a lot of higher-ranked players are really, really... mean. They're great on the battlefield, but in chat they're shoddy at best. I was the only one saying "gg" at the end of the matches, and I kinda felt like I was the only one having fun. Everyone else was in it to "prove how nooby I am" (and that's not really necessary since... y'know, I'm a 2nd Lt fighting Colonels).

If any of you super hardcore guys are reading this, my message to you is to lighten up. Remember that it's a game, and the goal is to have fun. Yeah, you should try to win, but don't let a loss stop you from having fun. The real winners are the people who have the most fun, are polite enough to say "gg", and don't hold grudges. Can we all do that? M'kay? M'kay.

Peace. ;)

@mines = drugs?

Actually... I don't care :)  Why? Simply because for me it is about having fun by a "almost equal" gameplay -vs- (ab)using things.

usually:

If you use mines defensively, you have to keep yourself alive by hiding. So you do less harm by shooting others.. and that levels out.

defensive abuse:

I've seen some Titans that plant a whole minefield around the flag.. 20 mines at least. And then they moved into some hiding point (no access, as mined as well) and waited for 200xp to come.

For the other team a game like this is totally boring.. even if they cleared out the enemy base their tanks where weakend and the did not make it through the minefield.

offensive:

Using them clever in close combat or dropping them down from heaven is awesome funny - for _both_ parties IMHO.

@NinjaG, offtopic

If you like to continue with the Hornet/Rail, you should consider to save up for the Mosquito Kit (about 195k cr) + Forrester Paint (500cr) and use Wasp/Rail instead of Hornet/Rail.

This Kit is the quickest access to Wasp M2 (benefits you Wasp/Fire combo as well), it includes Rail M2 (burner!), and you will drive one hull mainly. So you don't need to swap between Hornet and Wasp timing all the time, and become really awesome in one hull, instead of just good in two hulls.

Honoustly, nrvus is right ur publically shaming people without them knowing, or being able to respond or fight back,

But that "public shame" is already public ... it is on the profile info ... so AlphaNinjaGirl did not publish anything that was not public yet!

What is all of this "public shame" nonsense?

If nobody comes here but us, how is it public?

Even IF they came, which they never do, they wouldn't care because we're simply telling each other about users we found.

I've found that lately every single battle I join winds up lopsided because one side uses more drugs than the other. Sometimes I'm on the team with the druggers, sometimes I'm not. Either way, it's no fun. Either my team is destroyed, or there's nothing for me to do because the druggers do everything.

There are clearly hundreds of people who would prefer drug-free play (not supply-free, just drug-free). This seems to be the most divisive issue in Tanki, and I constantly see arguments breaking out in battles.

If the developers would just let the players choose whether they wanted to play drug-free battles or drugging battles, players could divide themselves into the different groups themselves, and everything would resolve itself.

The players who don't want to drug aren't buying drugs anyway, so there's no loss to income.

The players who do want to drug will continue to do so, so there's no loss to income.
