Well i live in a military country thats constantly under attack.

the reason why you dont beleive me is for the same reason you think druggers are skill less.... you live in sterile world and not reality.

im not warrior.... im a special ops communications technician.... I have 400 radios to deal with..

18h a day.

phones are available and i take a few minutes every now and then to counter the viruses of the game that i love to play on weekends. (We get released on weekends)

Well, you have proven me wrong on that, I take my words back. Kudos for serving your country (I still doubt it a bit since people can be anything they want to be on the internet). Would you believe me if I told you I was a renowned wrestler in my country with many titles and wins and an inpending contract with NXT? Or if I was working in the Sea Shepherd organisation to save the local british wildlife? I don't think so.

The reason why people won't believe you is the way you act here, they make assumptions off your posts, you shouldn't wonder why they do it. Judging by how many posts you make I doubt it is only a few minutes but anyway. There is a huge difference between arrogance, snobiness and rudeness. I may be a bit rude (a lot to some) but I don't consider my posts very arrogant and snobbish. The fact that you work as a technician still doesn't dispute the way you act here on the forums and in the game, people have different professions. Does that protect them from being argued with and called out based on their posts in the forum? I don't think so.

I actually doubt that (sorry if I'm wrong), since when you quote the post, the time it shows is in your time zone. When you quoted his post, it was in UTC-4, which is the East Coast of America. See what happens when I quote his post:

 

 

 

Let me clear up something for you sunshine, most militaries have averagely up to 12 hour shifts, depending on the unit itself, which country they are in, what they do and etc. If you are in regular service (not deployed, not battle-ready) they wouldn't keep you awake for such long hours since they need you  to be fresh, it would be pointless in having 18+ hours per day. 18 hours are possible if one is in active duty, they can last weeks. But I doubt your case is such, if you are combat deployed arguing with people on the internet wouldn't be your biggest concern. Aand unless your country's military is in some country that wants its soldiers to be like zombies when staying up to 18 hours isn't required. Stop acting smart and whatever else you are trying to achieve. I won't waste my time arguing with such a person again, don't expect me to reply to your mind farts.

PS. I am not supporting insults against people that didn't deserve them, some people just have to be told to the face what they are. Would I yell at an old lady that didn't do nothing, would I support such behavior? Nope. Would I yell at someone who yells at the old lady? Yes I would. Hope you get it. So I agree that drugs do take some amount of skill to use. However, people who have drugs are generally going to win battles, even if they are less skilled. Drugs can be obtained through buying, therefore buyers are in general stronger than free players. This is how it should be, but many people consider (big-time) buyers to a point at which it is unacceptable.

While it's impossible to get a number on how many players like or dislike drugs, it's easy to see that the majority of Tanki players (I'd estimate somewhere between 70% and 80%) are low to mid-high ranks (Recruit-Colonel), while the other 20%-30% or so are in the high ranks (Brigadier-Generalissimo). Again, I haven't the exact stats on this (and if you do, I'd like to see them), but this is a pretty realistic estimate.

 

From my experience playing Tanki for the past two and a half years, I've noticed that any time there's a drugger in any low to mid-high ranked battle, there's always some form of animosity. I realize that it's usually only one or two people saying "stop drugging you noob", but I can assure you that a lot of the players who dislike drugs aren't vocal about it (mainly because of people like you). Just because someone isn't vocal about their opinion doesn't mean their opinion doesn't count.

 

Furthermore, there have been many, many drug poll topics that have been either locked down or merged with the "Let's Discuss Supplies!" topic (which has no poll). Again, I can't tell for sure, but it's a very safe bet that the reason for this was because most players dislike drugs, and someone at Tanki HQ decided "hey, we can't have them dislike our #1 moneymaker", so they kill all drug polls.

 

Heck, go to any topic discussing balance, supplies, or "what makes you mad in Tanki?", and scroll through the posts. A generous portion of posts are about nerfing drugs, how the players dislike drugs, why drugs are overpowered, etc.

 

My point is this -- while there's no way to prove one way or another if the majority of players like drugs, there is proof that a HUGE amount of players dislike drugs. The fact that this topic is one of the oldest and most active topics on the forum also speaks volumes to this statement.

I'd prefer there to be a limit on how many garage supplies you can use in a battle -- say, 10 Nitro, DD, and DA and 5 RK per 15 minute match. Mines should have no such limit since they're not overpowered, however there are people who spam mines constantly, so a limit of 5 mines active at the same time (per player) should be enacted as well.

 

I think that'd make games a lot more balanced.

I seriously don't have a problem with druggers. I drug, BUT, I only drug when I'm playing with Gissmos (you literally have no choice) and when I play Polygon CPs. Everyone thinks druggers are bad, but if anyone in the forum recognizes me from one of those battles, I'm what you could call a "nice" drugged (well not for the other team I guess). This is because my absolute favorite thing to do is join the losing team (in Poly CP), and perform a takeover.

 

I don't think drugs should be nerfed at all. The cooldowns inbetween drugs needs to be increased, that would definitely help the "problem" out. And/Or, price of PRO battles should be a set price PER RANK, so low rankers can enjoy them.

 

I also find people that complain and whine about druggers and calling people out on how many drugs they use quite ignorant. The person who created this topic I highly respect, because of creating a Topic specifically for people to rant about, he/she created one where people could help try and solve the issue.

I'm sure a lot of people you play against get very upset when you perform your "takeover", especially if nobody was drugging to begin with. I can understand you drugging when you're playing against high ranks... it's players who are high-ranked and/or experienced drugging to kill lower ranks for fun that I have beef with.

The biggest problem I see with the current "smart cooldowns" is the fact that you can use a DD/DA and then a Repair Kit immediately afterwards, with no cooldown at all. This has led to people using DA/RK upon entering battle (the "DARK" combo), which increases your tank's effective health by 400%.

 

You cannot convince me or any sane person that a health boost of 400% is not overpowered.

Yes, there are the "nice druggers" (i.e. flag stealers) as it is necessary sometimes - especially when a Rail or Thunder take a big chunk out of your health when you are more than halfway home. But I never understood drugging (specifically RK) in Poly CP. Seems like a waste. But hey, If I see that green wrench, it's only a reminder for me to hit '3' as well.  :)

See, if a team is winning 153-12, and there are 11 minutes left, and they end up losing, they usually end up being angrier with themselves, rather than the person who started drugging. And in a Polygon CP, there is ALWAYS someone drugging when you join. The funds usually are quite high, which is why people do it. People don't get mad in Polygon CPs because of druggers, because it's just a part of the game; Poly CP is a drugger heaven. And your "beef" that you have with high rankers drugging against low rankers, I mean yes, it is a little obnoxious, but again, it's something you have to deal with that shouldn't and won't be changed.

 

EDIT: Also, I don't like it when people complain about Tanki trying to make money. Welcome to the real world, they NEED money to keep developing the game and supporting it (as well as supporting themselves). They do need a source of income from supplies so of course they have an extremely low chance of being removed. I think Tanki currently are doing an amazing job of balancing buyers from non-buyers. Back in 2012-2013 People could have Emerald paint 2-3 ranks BELOW yours, as well as having all 3 supplies active at once. People honestly should not be complaining about buyers/druggers.

I made a topic and put some ideas out there. It's not really that highly-regarded, more of a place for people to share better ideas than granting buyers tons of gear and powerups that make gameplay for free players a living hell...

I think drugs should be nerfed, either with a longer cool-down or a limit on drugs per battle. This would further prevent excessive drugging and I feel like it would be a better compromise.

The only thing you can say with certainty is that there a number of players who don't like drugs. You cannot put a number on it. You can't even make a guess without data.

 

This topic is not proof of anything. I myself have studied the posters in this topic and ran a report and I found that it only took 12 people to post more than 50% of the content and 41 people to post more than 75%

Again, I'd very much like to open a poll and let the numbers decide what should happen to drugs, but Tanki has made very clear that they don't want that to happen. Probably because they can forsee the results.

 

And yes, I can accept the fact that I have no proof and may be wrong. But you must realize that I also could be right. We just have no way of telling yet (again, I want an open poll).

 

(Also, if it's possible, could you avoid posting memes? I find them more annoying than funny.)

Ah yes, I do remember reading that topic. I understand the reasoning for your ideas, but the motive for buyers to even spend money in the game is to have an advantage over other players, so most of them don't work.

 

Also about your point for the majority of players dislike drugs... AZ and Arakelyn are right here. What people don't like, are players that constantly drug, all the time, no matter what battle or circumstances.

Primary example:

"No need for skill in twins, just place brick on key board and your done."

You happen to be too ignorant to try and think outside if stereotype. Place brick on space bar for:

Rico, rail, smoky, hammer and thunder

And you will be set, no need for skill.

 

See? You players totally ignore the concept "innovation and creativity" and think flattly just because it defeats them
