Reduce power of garage supplies

Recommended Posts

They need to create something called a "Creator's Pass" - this allows the person to create custom battles  with most of the same settings as a Pro Pass without requiring that every other participant also have the Pro Pass. This way you can create drug-free battles while allowing anyone to play.

That would mean people could truly play for free.  Won't happen. They want you to pay tp use supplies or pay to not use supplies. I do like the idea though.

Actually isn't this the way it used to be? I can't remember now.

Well I would be willing to pay 10,000 for such a pass if my friends could all join and we could play for a month without worrying about drug raids.

Yes, we used to get the ability to set all those parameters for free.

Notice too how the Tanker's Day sale discounts are lower now?

Thank goodness I am nearing the end - if I was much lower in rank I would quit right away.

My question is, why is it so hard to get people to play regular style battles but use a PRO pass? I'm not very good at XP so I don't get to play PRO battles much.

I would guess that the answer is that people don't like to wait for 10-20 minutes in order for their battle to "populate" so as to become a proper battle.

Whenever I created a drug free battle, I had to wait for an eternity of boredom (what to do when you 're the only one in the battlefield? How much time could you spend shooting the signs?)   until someone to ender and IF that someone was not under skilled and stayed, then there where hopes of turning this into a normal battle.

Long story short, people don't like to create battles, they like to participate in existing battles.

Also, I notice that even at top ranks where 5000 per month is a low price and most Gssimos have Pro pass, still one sees only standard battles or XP battles. Very seldom to find a non standard, non XP battle. It's amazing though, how people don't create drops-only battles. Lot's of fun and economical since no  stock supplies are being consumed, and really balanced since there's only limited amount of supplies, split between the teams.

I have been brought to sarcasm by someone else's arrogancy ... don't take it bad please!

To answer your questions, I am quite far from a pro or even someone who is used to play games, and on lower ranks I didn't even know what drugs were and how to use them!

On your other question (or assumption), I have abt. 2-3k of each drug, so it is not a matter "I don't have drugs to answer druggers".

The difference in our positions is that I don't think that a good paint and skill can overcome drugs, while you do.
In my little and non-PRO esperience, I always found that when there are 2-3 overdruggers in one 8 team, 90% of the times the battle is done (or gone to the dogs!). I shared this here and it appears to me that many other players have the same idea. Maybe we all haven't enough skills, which is quite possible, but maybe, or in addition to this, overdrugging is not that easy to face.

Finally, on pick ups, of course I have grabbed them like anyone else do. But there is a main difference in pick-up and garage: it is the moment that you have them available. Pressing 1 when running away after taking a flag is very different than picking up a health pack on your (maybe solitary) way.

Also, as you probably read on my posts, I proposed that drugs have to be reduced in their power increments, and I mean all drugs, making no difference between garage and pick-ups. Because I think that today's drugs give an unfair unbalance in the game that gives sadness and frustration. On the economy of crystals, a winning drugger spend about twice in drugs than what he earns in battle, so it is not economically sustainable.

Bigtimerush_bry ... I also respect any position, even if different than mine. Here everything can be said, every opinion can be expressed (politely and respectfully). Talking the way you are taking this last post, you are and will be always welcome to talk, discuss, contrast, agree or disagree ... and I (and I am sure all the readers here) will appreciate it! :)

First of notes; This is bigtime's ¨alt¨ (It actualy came first, I mismanaged cry ;)). Second, I am sorry for the delay. I have not been very active recently, and my parents have currently taken charge of my bigtime account, so this is the one that I use. Now, the the important stuff... (note, it is color coded, so that you know what I am referring to)

1.) I didn't take the sarcasm badly, I am very sarcastic myself. :P I just try not to seep into writings. As you noticed, the reply was sarcastic .

2.) The top tier paints in the game can counteract drugs. First and foremost, many if all of the 45ish% and up pretty much negate any damages. For example, Progidi can take a double damage rail on hornet like it was just a regular rail without protection. Maybe a tad more, since base is 46%, but it can go towards 50%. Zeus pretty much laughs at firebirds, even with damage, and paints like emerald, rock, cherry, ect. have protections against the turrets that makes turrets with damage easy to ignore/ deal with. Also, skills can still overcome drugs. A circling twins player can knock of the aim of anything. A hornet-twin will circle you forever and you can make a shot that the likelihood of you actually hitting them, rail, smoky, thunder, rico, twin, even firebird and freeze can't do a thing about it. Shafts and Vulcan have no chance, no amount of skill can avoid that, they have to take them out early. A turret with impact force can knock another's aim, most notably rail and shaft, right before firing, leaving a shot useless, waiting for reload. Freeze can freeze and not even get hit. The point here is, a double damage is worthless without hitting.

Nitros are easy, predict where they go, shot them their, or follow with rail, or just shoot im. If you use isida of firebird, find another target, freeze, freeze from the rear. Nitros are easily dealt with.

Armors: They usually have the flag, so most people are already shooting at them, they will die. If they aren't, ignore them, or wait for some damage to come their way, and then join in. Just shoot im. However, of all the supplies mentioned above, these are the hardest to deal with.

Repair Kits:  I got nothin, shoot im again and again. :(

So, there is how skills and paints protect against drugs, or my 2 cents at least.

3.) If drugs were reduced to just one power increment (that is, mo is m1), there is no real formula that I have figured out that can predict the change between the different tiers, however, it usually only goes up around 25-30% each time. Which means that a supply would not boost that much the turret. In fact, it would make it so that there was no point in them. People would just save up for a modification than use any drugs. Drugs last 1 min. a modification lasts forever. Drugs give a brief addition to power, making not just equal, but superior compared to the others. A reminder, it is brief, and once it runs out, they have to wait for one to recharge. Keeping it at double, and 30% for nitro, keep games interesting, and making decisive wins harder, and a way for tankers to stay competitive with higher ranked players and equipment.

4.) I will not deny, however, that overdruggers are hard to deal with. Skills and paints help, but inevitably the best way is to drug. IF one does not want to drug, they can definitely survive, as you, Brubrook are almost a gissimo, RusyNail is a Commander, and there are many other high ranked players who don't drug, hats off to you guys. Overdruggers are a pain in the rear end, and can change the tide of a game completely, especially if they buy. However, average drugging, and pickups are a part of the game, and the game would not be the same without them.

Brendantr1,

You present yourself well and your answers are concise and informative. The problem is, they do not apply to those of us who do not drug, are low income players and are so overwhelmed by heavy drugging in each battle that we win hardly anything. Can you see my point? I cannot afford these paints you pointed out. I can barely do one small mu on the only tank I have per week. It doesn't help to hear dozens of people saying over and over again just buy it. This is my, very real situation and I am not alone. There are many good tankers here who just want to play a fair game so they can use their skills and win their share. That hasn't been allowed to happen for a very long time.

I am definently not without skills and in the past, when good and fair battles were fought I would win my share. That time is gone.

The situation got so bad, that awhile back I just stopped playing period and said my goodbyes here. Now I mostly read the forum because I believe in this topic and the good people who are brainstorming it, and maybe...maybe fight 2 or 3 battles twice a week. Sad.

Those who don't drug are laughed at, called names and belittled continuously. It's everywhere and it's wrong! so, what should the non- duggers, whether they are low income or not do?

I f you ask the current(majority), of druglords that are running rampant through every battle, they will tell you, "If you don't like it leave. ' I hear it constantly. So, I thank you for your information. I found it interesting, but, it doesn't apply to me. It is out of reach. If I can't play fair battles, I can't win, I can't improve my tank and I can't rank. This is what overdrugging is and has done, I thank you for listening.         Peace

I actually played a round tonight where someone on my team got angry because people weren't drugging.

"If you aren't drugging please leave!"

Tell you what Chief - if you want me to drug then send me some money to buy supplies.

See what I play with?

I think when someone uses a healing kit, they should get -5 and the people who dealt damage in the last 10 seconds should get scored on it as if when they die. By the way, when someone self destructs, the people who dealt damage should be scored on the damage they dealt.

I am similar to you, I have a very small income. In my main, btrb, I have about 65.5k in crystals, but that was after playing a lot of poly CPs and other high crystal maps. I also usually don't mu, that much, so that part of my wallet stays there, I wait for sales. I believe that the game is fair, however, I will say that over drugging is definitely a problem. When I play, people will use supplies, but they will not over drug the way that you point it out. I remember awhile back, I was playing a polygon CTF, and this fresh M2 Boar kit comes in with Swash on, and drugs the entire match. That person nearly had a complete take over. The other players were nubs, so we just focused our attention on him. He also lagged, so he was hard to hit. I do think most games are fair, and in many of my battles, they are called drugging nubs, nubs, don't drug, leave, and, to my regret, gold admin. pls, sorry. Many of the games I play are fair for both teams. Maybe as I rank, I might change my mind, but right now, drugs are an integral part of the game. Yes, people abuse it, but the majority don't.

A new battle was created.Soon players started joining and having fun killing each others ,gaining xp and crystals.More and more players started joining ,and then a drugger came in.The original players still had fun killing each other farily as that 1 drugger didnt bother them as much. Then more and more druggers entered the game. For the first players it was very difficult to kill someone and they left the battle.Soon the game was druggers vs druggers. But after a while they realised it was super boring to kill someone as it took so long using shields,healthpacks.etc.So they too started leaving.Soon the battle was empty once again.

At lower ranks the effects of drugging is not so bad - I would say that once you start getting stars on your badge the ratio of good to bad battles starts becoming 1:3. Past the mid-General ranks the battles start to approach 1:1. This means as you move up the bad imbalanced battles due to drugging get worse and worse.

The funny thing is that if you gain skills and start over as a recruit you can cut through them like a hot knife through butter:

205sg14.png

This is the purest form of Tanki available as nobody has supplies. You can see how pure skills alone wipe out enemies.

Now, imagine why drugs are popular...because it allows the unskilled to just press 1-2-3-4 and suddenly have the power to overcome those with skills.

In my opinion players that have the skills that many of the high ranks do should not be allowed to restart at the bottom. It is as bad, if not worse then being a drugger. As much fun as it is to do exactly what you did, it has a negative effect on the game. It is possible that one of those players you pulverized my have quit playing for good, thinking this game is way too hard. They don't understand why we appear to be so so good.  Don't get me wrong, I do it too, but it's still not right. Tanki needs more new players and with guys like us scaring them all off it a lot harder to find new players.

Good point - this is why the ability to register multiple accounts is a bad idea.

Did you know that for Chinese Tanki you must provide a real name and your national ID card number to register? This is not needed for English, Russian, Brazil, or German  versions.

(That is what the bottom two fields are for - name and national identity number for China).

That is exactly so, except from one little point.. the point that Tanki, squeezing players so hard make it all the more difficult for them to proceed in high ranks, but the game is good, so what to do? let's create another account and play cool, even without drugs.. at least until W05 (like you said)...

What I obviously mean is that Tanki itself makes* many players go back to the start and play like semi-gods against newbies, etc etc.

Drugging, raiding, multing, goldbox hunting, they really are nothing else than  different results of a bad economy system.

Monopoly of power based on actual money, makes Tanki a rich player's heaven.

However, it's a universal game. Monetary differences between countries can create huge inequalities between players. 10 euros in Belgium or the Netherlands are quite different than 10 euros in Spain or Greece, let along Bulgaria or other balkan countries.

minimum-wage-map.jpg

So, keeping prices universal is a factor that makes the game too expensive to some, too cheap for others. Imagine if the above map included the arabs.... to them, a Serbian or a Romanian wage is just pocket-money...

So, concluding, bad economy makes the game too difficult to proceed halfway the rank ladder and above, and this difficulty leads to alternative ways of proceeding. Some of them, like drugging, are profitable for Alternativa (on a short term though), while others, like multing are indifferent to them.

Isn't this a matter of inadequate management really?

There are a few big time druggers I see nightly when I play (usually between 9pm-12am EST). I shall not name names, but, most of them don't bother to turn their turrets (they seem to all have unlimited drug supplies and tend to have every paint, turret, and hull available at their rank. There is one named erol1111 that is a big time drugger and constantly switches hulls, turrets, and paints during each round of Rio. He always boasts about how great he is, how many kills he gets as if he's some super tanker born with the greatest skills in all of Tanki's history. Then after pulverizing the losing team he insults them by saying "GG"

When players such as him are playing against other non-skilled players or other non-skilled druggers they tend to do well. All these have to do is point and shoot in a general direction. But when some players with skills and drugs show up the non-turret-turning-unskilled-druggers get wiped out the same way as non-druggers get wiped out by the non-turret-turning-unskilled-druggers. When druggers with skills show up suddenly people such as erol1111 fall to the bottom of the list and eventually leave because of lack of skills. Pressing 1-2-3-4 all the time isn't a useful skill.

In a way it's like a giant feeding frenzy - humorous to watch as a form of justice, but, exposes the worst flaws: overpowered tanks against weaker tanks coupled with drugs where skills take a back seat.

This is why my little experiment with the alt account was interesting. At the low levels everyone is equal in terms of firepower and defense - there really is little difference between the hulls or turrets, and, even with field supplies the effects of DD are so minimal that it's as if the box is empty (for example Firebird at M0 seems no different between no DD and using DD).  Easy to mow people down because of the knowledge of the game, but, in reality the way to succeed quickly the rest of the career is to drug the heck out of every round.

I quite agree with you creeperskelly

Yet a drugged fast "career" bring the same result as many and many company todays managers that came from university straight to leading position because of "transversal helps" ... the result is the economy we see today and the many bankrupsies we see around, as they don't even know where they are. They like "don't even turn the turret" ...  :)

Tanki exploit an actual society problem: the lazyness and the lack of will of doing experience "from the ground up" ... young people pretend to have and be everything with a click ... they don't even understand there is a path to "build up" a person!

Yet this "strategy" has no future ... not in Tanki, not in real life!

Quite sad!

Wow ... that is curious!

But I am not soo surprise (I could expect something like this) because I know they have very heavy restrictions on communications. Everything in internet everything is filtered in and out.

Probably you will confirm my thoughts, creeper ... you seem to know well that situation :)

Obviously that is part of what they are doing with requiring registration. I tried playing on the Chinese server and it was miserable - the lag was worse than anything I have ever experienced on Tanki - so bad in fact that it was like watching stop motion animation. I don't think the ping was ever below 600. Also odd is almost nobody uses a name for their account (such as we do) - almost all of their players use numbers.

So, instead of creeperskelly I would be 295354635.  Thus, the battle list is populated mostly with numbers. Really creepy, eh?

Also the registration system is not part of Tanki - my username here would not allow me to login there.

I did see one or two others with names (I registered as "vandownbytheriver") :D

Garage prices are the same.

They get the worst deal overall of anyone in the world for crystals (this is the equivalent of 3,100 crystals per USD - our rate is 3,500 per USD).

10pr600.png

The worst part of it? Almost nobody plays it. There are only two servers and one is totally void of players. What you see in this list is everyone who is playing Chinese Tanki.
