Reduce power of garage supplies

No problem for a high ranked player IMO, indeed too much for a low- to medium ranked player.

Don 't see TO changing this soon. It 's already been suggested many times before.

Which is one of the facts that indicate a totally different agenda from Devs' side, than what they claim... By now, I 'm pretty sure it's not technical issues or lack of possibilities for a number of problems players face..  I guess, the company doesn't really have a priority for old players or for real game balance, only for wealthy customers. Short term profit, on the expense of long term fans.

I had this confirmed by in a PM about a year ago. He claims their focus is on acquiring new players and not keeping them after they reach Generalissimo. He claims that high rank player do not spend as much as the low to middle ranks. This is where a person good at marking should step up and offer other ways for high ranks to spend money on the game, willingly.

Sad thing, but it make sense ... in Tanki distorted marketing logic, I mean!

As you said, Tanki is no innovation, no marketing concepts newer than '80s and no creativity (marketing speaking). They are everything that both a modern company and a internet-related company should not be!

Sad thing ... greed ... sad thing! Could have been a 20 years business, not a 4 years one!

Great suggestion for young minds that come to think that everything in life has shortcuts ... pay and get what you want when you want

 

... in the end (as said earlier) you have managers that have no idea of what they do, politicians that exclusively look for ways to get profits from their powers and adults that jump from the 7th floor thinking they bought a magic fly belt!

I very much agree with the general sentiments of the OP.

 

I recently had the opportunity to use the test server and be a 'Generalisimo' for the first time, with unlimited access to everything, including supplies - I hated it. Why? Because it doesn't matter if you have the top equipment and paints - you have to drug just to keep up because everyone else drugs non-stop. This is no fun at all and there is nothing stategic about it.

 

Now I don't play Tanki as much because this style of play is not for me so I'm in no rush to progress any further. It has got nothing to do with whether I spend money on drugs or not - it's just not an enjoyable style of gameplay for me.

 

When people are using Double Power all the time other people hardly get a chance to spawn, get their bearings and drive their pride and joy a couple of metres before they're dead - where's the fun in that?

 

"Go join a Pro Battle" I hear some of you cry! You must be joking! Not only are there hardly any Pro Battles around, but, just like in the test server, in Pro Battles I rarely see the 'no supplies' option activated - instead I see the 'smart cool downs' turned off so people can drug even more!!!!

 

Supplies should not be the main focus of this game IMO. Perhaps the default use of supplies should be much more limited and one should join a Pro Battle if one wants to drug alot rather than the other way around.

 

But then again, if this is the main way that the developers make money, I guess you have get used to drugging a lot more, which is a very different type of game for someone who has made there way up to a certain level without doing that (like me) - or play a different game altogether.

 

If using supplies is an integral part of the game, then perhaps a lot more free supplies should be made available at Recruit level onwards so people get used to using them as such.

 

And breathe... :P

I finally got a Pro Pass. Played for about one hour in a CTF Silence match on RU3. 3 flag capture limit, no supplies, no drugs. Really lots of fun and between the gold box and winnings it paid for half the Pro Pass.

 

Totally worth it.

Earlier today, I went up against a good team in Rio CTF. Everyone was equal until a tanker called

Dani-555-ALIEN came in. He had full drugs activated and pwned everyone. It was awful playing against him. At the end of the battle, he had a score of 524 while most of the others on his side had less than 350.

 

On our side, i had a score of 350 with most others on my side getting less than 200. Early in, it had taken us 5 players, half the team, to take him out once. Even worse, the Gold Box dropped and he took it. It ruined the completely for everyone in that battle. He took a lot of chances of getting flags and kills from his own team and stopped our team from getting anything. 

 

He was out of control completely. And because there's no drug use limit or other barrier stopping the overuse of drugs, he could just get hundreds of crystals every round. He's probably still playing in the same battle, doing the exact same thing.

I managed to find a PRO battle yesterday with all supplies turned off. Sandbox CTF but not XP. Most fun I've had in months. I could actually compete and even came in first a few times. All battles where close to the end and nobody was extremely over powered.  

 

 

What ever happened to this?  Weren't we going to use EN3 for this as well?

I'm working on getting some of the other people in my friend's list to get a Pro Pass. Including the main posters in this thread I have 4 more who bought one recently and I'm working on persuading 4 more. They all have the same thing in common: tired of the druggers.

 

The Silence map I played last night was the most fun I ever had in Tanki. No drops, no drugs. Just tanks versus tanks. And, as an Isida player, people were grateful for me constantly moving around and healing - even if it was just a small amount. I can't recall at any time my charge bar ever being full (except when I respawned). Though we lost it was not a bad feeling - we didn't lose because of a bunch of people drugging - we lost because someone's strategy was just a bit better.

 

For the first time that I can recall the members of my team did their best to actually protect me - most of the time players ignore the Isida and do little to help them survive. But when you're the only source of "first aid" anywhere all of a sudden you're the most valuable asset on the team.

Also the other great thing was not a single time was I ever killed by a single shot - that's the part of drugging that irritates me the most - being one shotted.

Pro pass have been in my garage for months, but I rarely use it.

Problem, hard to find a good battle in high ranks, non XP, non full drugging.

Best option, but rare, is garage supplies off. Drops on, but garage off. The best game ever.

Without any supplies, after a couple of battles (with the same players) the balance gets too much. You see the same scenario more or less. But with drops on, it takes much longer for this to happen.

 

So, it's not that it doesn't "pay", but that they seldom create "drops only" battles....

I played a few with drops on but garage off and from what I saw it turns into a lopsided mess. There was one hack that had a 25-1 kill/death ratio at the end of Kungar. Basically impossible to get to him because one he controlled the drop zones it was impossible to take him out.

 

I suppose the issue being that if someone has MU'ed their combo then the additions of even drops makes it that much more OP.

 

The problem is that there's no way to know when someone's a Gismo what their overall XP level is or their status on their turrets/hulls.

 

Honestly I think they need to subdivide ranks a bit more - Gismos with 2,000,000 or more really have no business in battles with others below them.

 

I just finished another Silence CTF on RU3 - same as last night with no supplies at all - end of the battle the score was 0-0 but with a high battle fund everyone was a winner.

I am getting sick of drugging. Recently maybe 90% of the battles I lose it is because of drugging. What pisses me off is when we are winning and everything is going well with a reasonable opposition, and near the end everybody on that team starts drugging and we can't capture anything anymore. This is very irritating.

 

I am going to buy the PRO pass sometime soon. I am lazy because of the Gizmos with the upgraded Mammies that render your medium hull practically like an M0 hull.

 

Regarding the lack of battles we like, I think we should create some. We can't always depend on other people to create our favorites. I rarely create battles, but once I got a stupid mission for a battle that was not there. I created it, and everything went well right away.

When you go from a non-drug use map (no supplies or drops) to a normal one it almost seems comical in a sick and twisted way to see all the powerups being used. It's almost shocking how pathetic it really is to have to use them to compete.
