A remedy for players "holding the flag"

I've been seeing game flow disrupted by players grabbing the flag, then running and hiding instead of planting the flag: 

I suggest that there be a time limit on players having possession of the flag, after which the flag automatically returns to it's base.

For example, from my experience, 90-120 seconds is plenty of time (on smaller maps) to get the enemy flag to your base, even when there are large teams (10-12 players per team)

but on bigger maps a little more time would be needed.

I have just wasted 30 minutes because players would not capture and I had nowhere to turn.

Tanki online is a disgrace if it can't sort such a simple little problem out.

 

I used /vote 4 times in that battle against 4 players.

 

I will of course report them all but it's going to take me another hour to do that and for what, a slap on the wrist? Really Tanki, this is pathetic. Sort this out.

That's the most annoying thing with the way the current report system works. Besides, it's physically impossible to report someone on an unfilled map since you need more than half of the players to report.

im not that stupid & ik this isnt a good idea at all so 

I never said you were but come on, it goes without saying that if both teams are holding flags then timers do not apply.

I agree with the idea, however, it's not perfect. The circumstances in which time depends on are not always stable. Maybe some enemy tanks are in the way or you have a heavy hull.

Maybe if there are no enemies in their base, the limit expires after 50 seconds for maps like Noise,Silence and for maps like Madness, well no limit.

Maps over 1000 Square metres like Serpukhov, Esplanade around 110 seconds?

And Maps over 1500-2000 Square metres, such as Berlin, Madness and Lost Temple no time limit?

There are good and bad sides to this......I think that it's a real problem, but what happens if the flag goes back when the player is not multing? I would get soooo mad.

 

Maybe double the time you suggested?
