Let's discuss increased HP for heavy and medium tanks

This is how I kill the heavy tanks:

 

Heavy tanks are very slow - they are 'sitting ducks' in my book.  Shafts are often so buried in their scope that they do not see you coming.

A light tank with a gun like ricochet, twins or thunder can sneak up as close as possible and then maybe dash right across the front of a Shaft and if possible down the side and maybe behind them.

Try seeing what this is like by using a shaft yourself and you will see how hard it is for the shaft to let go of the trigger at the right time (partly because the lag on the internet will cause the shaft to miss).

Now you have your light tank down the side of the large tank turn your turret and kill it (you only need to aim at a small part of it - the back tread will do).  If necessary as the turret comes round move to the other side and repeat.

The golden rule with shaft is never to cross the laser line more than say 10 meters from the tank.  This is like a hair trigger and you will die.

A good tactic is to wait until the shaft has fired - it then takes about 4 seconds before it can hurt you.  It takes my M2 Rico 5 seconds to kill most Mammoths.

 

Twins and Rico can take on Shaft head on - the buffet from each hit will prevent them shooting back accurately.  The proviso is that you get in front while they are reloading.

If the Large tank has an Izzy supporting it then you must to kill the Izzy first from a distance or wait for a Shaft or Rail to do it for you.

Rico can use bounce tactics to kill the Izzy first.  Or if you're lucky enough to have a freeze or a firebird with you (my son aged 12) - these can take out the Izzy and help damage the big tank.

 

Vikings, Hunters and Dictators are most easily taken down from behind, but be prepared to hide once they turn.

Railguns reload so slowly (7 seconds),  you can wait for it to shoot - then hit and hide and repeat until dead.

Dealing with a Thunder is probably the hardest because their turret moves fast and they reload fast (about 2 seconds - not enough time to hide).

The only way I know is using Rico bounce tactics.  Also Thunders will self destruct if you suicide on the front of them especially if they have double damage on.  Then after the re- spawn try and kill them while they 'lumber' back to their camping spot.

I have rarely seen a big tank go back to the same site 'of death' more than twice!  I think they get such a 'mauling' from my Rico that they don't want 3 times in a row.

Izzy, Freeze, Hammer and Firebird can all do the above if they can get close enough - perhaps by following another tank.

If big tanks have double damage or double armour then keep away for 40 seconds until it 'wears off'.  If you see serial drugging going on then use the other side of the map if possible or maybe quit that map.

or as I do sometimes - I spend the entire game persecuting them - and if I can get in the spawning sites then I kill them from behind.

 

Alternatively - put a shaft on a Hornet and kill big tanks from distance (it might take 3 hits at full power).  The hornet hull allows you to keep moving and find more cover spots.

If you sit in one place too long they will kill you.

It's possible that Tanki will now find more Hornet's in the game then ever before - driven by the desire to kill big tanks for fun! and more big tanks will quit or change to hornets!

However, I use M1 Wasp / M2 Rico - because this can kill anything (including its-self!) - let's see what happens when I get M2 Wasp next month.

My second favorite account is my Hornet / Shaft and I still do the flag runs with this!

The more I play, the more I'm getting sure that this is a definite cripple for hornet and wasp.

 

I don't like slow hulls. If I had to play slow Tanki, I would play WoT.

 

I think I'll take the weekend off, it'll be better for everyone..

This update might reflect on me by using Hunter and Viking more often than usual. I'm used to using XP in Pro Battles, and to see this update, more people might see more medium/heavy hulls on the field, which wont be good for all the Rail users :o.  U should increase some turrets damage slightly, and kinds edit light hulls a bit.

Hazel usually you are a cool and agreeable person, but in this topic you've shown to be just the opposite. Did you, as a community leader, bother to address any of his points before making that snobby child-like reply? My guess would be not.

This is update is less about improvements, and more about forcing players to buy more crystals. What happens when you have trouble destroying a Tank? You use double power. So now you will be using a lot more supplies which means you will need to buy crystals to replenish those used supplies or be happy with losing.

I like it! I tend to be a lighter hull user, so I don't really benifit from it but it's provided a somewhat more challenging kill!

I got a diverse garage so this update is okay. Wasp for trolling and regular battles, Dictator for trolling, Golds and battles and Mammy for that guy running around the map with 600+HP

I hate this up date !!!! :angry:  :angry:  :angry:  I use hornet  most of all  because of her speed and NO I don't use rail.

 I am a fire , hammer ' thunder ' kind of girl ,

This was wrong to give all bigger hulls ' more armor '  that I had trouble trying to kill  in the first  place and now they have  even more armor grrr   :angry:  :angry: I Am not giving this game NO more money!! ;)  :D SO THERE.  :angry:  :angry:  :angry:

This update was the focus of Heavy/Medium hull popularity, not to buy more! Tanki is tryin to make the game more diverse. All i see is Hornet, and hardly any other hull. Also if u complain, Tanki wont change this update, and also Skill = More Kills.

Again, Tanki logic makes no sense. The claim was that the medium and heavy hulls where unpopular. Seeing as I see more vikings then anything else, I wonder which battles they are watching. XP maybe. LOL The question is why are the lite hulls more popular? I would say speed not protection. If protection was an  issue, why would we choose a lite hull with less protection ? So if we choose lite hulls because of their speed, why would Tanki choose to add protection in an attempt to make heavy more popular? They should of added speed.

WELL your  just a baby tanker and big hulls cost to much!! for your rank.

You are 100% correct. Tanki will never change this update it stands to make them money. When will you people ever learn that all decisions made are more about Tanki making money, and less about player satisfaction.

You are 100% correct. Tanki will never change this update it stands to make them money. When will you people ever learn that all decisions made are more about Tanki making money, and less about player satisfaction. 

I don't know about you.. But collecting a few 3k goldbox's on the women's day event suuure would make me satisfied!

Why would I buy, if they can't put Cry Boxes back in the game..

You are right. The only way to get good scores with light hulls is when using DP 's.

 

Being a light hull Tanker myself who doesn 't only pick other light hull players as the obvious easy victims

and just attack everything that 's in range I know all too well that taking down those heavy hulls

takes a lot of time: especially when playing without DP 's.

 

I never bought supplies before, but I did buy Double Powers on the New Years discount.

DP 's for 25 crystals are totally worth it: I can easily earn more crystals than I have spend on those DP 's.

 

Ofcourse now I 'm getting accused of being a drugger, noob, even hacker etc.

I really couldn 't care less. When playing light hulls (90% of the time, because they are the most fun

to play with IMO) I am very vulnerable when I do get hit by enemy fire and I simply refuse

to spend crystals on health packs.

 

Not worth the huge amount (150 or at least 75 crystals at once...) and I personally don 't like this supply.

Wish these med kits weren 't in the game at all: maybe only as dropped supply.

Totally unbalances a fair duel, and even than when fighting a heavier hull than yourself,

and the opponent has equal skills: you will still loose.

Flagcapers should be more vulnerable too, would make the game a lot more interesting in my view.

 

Ofcourse DP 's unbalance the game too, so my reasoning in this matter is questionable: but when I 'm

in a regular Tanki battle where medium and heavy hulls also use supplies and where Double Armours

(a Mammoth M4 on DA is now 900 HP...) and health packs really give them a lot more advantage:

DP is the recipe.

(and besides Tanki actually did do a good thing in that regard with the new increased battle fund for lower ranks)

I just reached Warrant Officer 5 level: my favorite turret is Isida, and hull is Hornet M1, with protection upgraded to max (25/25): armor is 133.6...

I am constantly getting killed by W.O. 2, 3 and 4 players using Hammer, Vulcan, Ricochet, Rail and Thunder, in just 1,2 or 3 shots.

Sure, I have a fast hull, able to drive circles around slower hulls, but it doesn't do me any good WHEN I CAN'T REACH THEM.

Short range/close proximity turrets are already at a disadvantage (on most maps), but when they're coupled with a weak armored hull, it makes the game really "challenging".

I've seen a few players calling me "drugger" because I've stocked up on Supplies;

well, next time you're camped out around the flag with your crew around you, with your Titans and Hammer/Vulcan/Railgun, wasting me from hundreds of feet away, and I use every supply at my disposal to get to you and maybe take 1 of you out, and/or snatch the flag,

then BITE ME.

Actualy I have the impression, that it is not about making it more diverse.. but instead of purchasing other hulls.

And I am fine with tanki want to earn money.. they have to eat.. but it is a shame that this spoils game balance (in terms of having different hull combos same effective).

I don't care to much for the devs to be changing things around. I have m2 honet and m2 rail and there are days when it does nothing much in the way of destroying and protection.

I was looking forward to buying m3 hornet and m3 rail. But whats to say the devs are'nt going to fiddle with the m3's.

I think I will not upgrade.

If I haven't met you , I have met your clone :D . I am the Titan/Vulcan dude.  Get that Diamond (3rd Lt.) and buy Isida M2. . Past that , work on doing covered approaches. Get to within 15m, and you can't lose. Play maps that work to your advantage.

 

PS- Don't fight DD Hammers.

This update is nice, but like what other tankers have said, hornet is still going to be as popular as it was. 

 

I feel like this update didn't encourage people to use heavy hulls more, but instead it just encouraged people who already use heavy hulls to keep using heavy hulls.

Friendly advice. Don't invest in MUing your tank before reach M3. It's too costy. I know, life is a b_tch without drugs, but keep trying to avoid tougher tanks and make your way slowly towards the top, gathering crystals for upgrading your tank.
