Let's discuss the updated system for earlier battle finish

There's still a bug in the new system, when there is 2vs8 for example and not much killing is happening the alarm says the battle is about to end but then it is stopped but no kills have been made, then keeps repeating till battle finishes. Could this please be fixed ASAP.

It is way to buggy

 

It goes on and off every minute in most battles and even when its some ridiculous line up like 2v9 it goes off in the other teams favor despite us dominating the battle

 

Please fix it and Keep up the work devs

I was observing this battle from outside and saw the early end switch on and off as you can see in the video. , then I wanted to get into it and see what it happening in the inside. I intended to join the winning side because it was 1 player up and not play, but the losing side started firing at me, and then I found out that the losing side had full team, so I joined the game. You can see that no real changes happened while the early end toggled on and off, on and off, on and off, on and off, etc. Nothing happened (out of the ordinary) inside the battle.
 
One key thing I want to emphasize here, if the losing team overruns the winning team, let them be. The result is obvious that they may :) win, but they are not winning yet, so if you end the battle early, you are being unfair to them.

 

While I waited for this video to render, I was looking at the battle list. I saw a battle with the early timer on with 2 players on one side and nobody on the other side, and they were waiting. Their scores were low. So I joined the battle and asked them if they were seriously waiting for a 100 crystal battle fund. One of them destroyed my tank. Do you know how I punished them? When I joined the battle, the timer reset to the original timer. I left the battle, so the early timer toggled restarting from 3 minutes. I waited until there was 1 minute left and rejoined the battle. The timer reset again although I did not capture a point or kill anybody. I left the battle immediately. While I was about to join the battle again to continue my punishment while I waited for the video, a poor guy joined the battle. A minute later, he did not score anything and left. Then a couple of guys joined the battle. It was hilarious. I hope they enjoyed the punishment. That is one good side of the early end system. :P

This is another battle that I joined about half an hour ago. It looks as balanced as a battle can be yet, within the 11 minutes I was in the battle, the early horn sounded 5 times followed almost immediately by the all clear. That happened within about 5 minutes. For those, the average was a horn/clear horn every minute. Obviously, some minutes got more than that. The score was very close. Both teams were doing equally well. I have no idea what toggled the horn.

 

Through analyzing this video by looking at the notifications on the top right, I think I found what the problem is. Whenever a team destroys a few tanks of the other team and/or capture the point, the horn sounds. When the other team destroys a few tanks or recaptures the point, the battle returns to normal.

 

The problem is that you are following the battle too closely. You practically expect whenever a team destroys a tank, the other team should destroy a tank immediately. If a team destroyed 4 tanks or so, then you panic. Well, you need to look farther than the last 5 or 10 seconds you are looking at. You need to look at an entire minute at least. You also need to factor in the total score of the battle or both teams. You can't panic if a team gets a lucky 1 or 2 minutes. Again, you need to look at the entire score. Also, be careful not to panic if this happens in the first 2 minutes. At least, give it 5 minutes.

 

Though, I emphasize that when an entire team leaves the battle, you need to end it virtually immediately. If they want, they can stick around and join a new battle, but there is no point in waiting.

Fail - Completely Fail . Game never ends. if the loosing team has only one member and he managed to kill someone the game proceed. then it says game will end soon and he kill another one and it proceed. so game's time ends naturally before forcing end of game.

it still enacts far to frequently in small battle like island cps.. the thing that's really the most annoying is the claxon, please remove the claxon sound it might be bearable then and leave the red clock in battle if you have to have the noise make it so it only goes off once please not 15-20 times even after you  re updated it thank you

Someone stop that horns!

The system can't decide if the game should or not end earlier, so now...  it is honking every second!

 

It puts my blood flowing through my synapses and drives me crazy. Leaves me mad beyond words.

 

I mean... is there someone in development team, testing all the s**** they implement? Or let me guess... all of you play / test the game with iPod playing some junky music directly on your ears, so you can't realize how annoying this second by second claxon is?

Keep it simple...

If there is a 10 - 0 flag score in a 15 minutes game, and the time left is... say 6 min, it is clear the game should end earlier unless there is a miracle and the other team manages to capture more than 1 flag every minute, and that means no oposition,and no run away time.

 

So take the time to measure on every map, the expected time a tank take from one flag to the other, and use this and the time left to decide on game early finish.

 

But who am I to tell you this, right? I'm just a stupid IT dev myself...

Red timer STILL popping up far far too often, when game is beyond salvage.

And how can a red timer come on even after only few seconds of gameplay.

All very annoying.

The notifications come so fast from, you are losing, to, normal to, you are winning. The gold box notification also disappeared within microseconds due to early battle notification. If it wasn't for gold box alarm, I would never have known that gold is dropping.

Please make Gold box notification longer and unaffected by other notifications.

I play in Polygon CP a lot lately and the timer goes off about every 10 seconds in a decent battle, hardly ever when it's only a few people playing...very odd, but I'd respectfully say that this still needs some attention.  Immediate attention would be nice to get rid of the frequent notification.  Rolling back to the previous version would be nice, this one really doesn't work and is so annoying.

dumb update,as most of them lately..this game have so much bigger and real problems!All those horns every 10 seconds are making game incredible laggy,lost quite amonut of crystals because game laggs and I can't get in time back.You have hackers on ranks from recruit till brigadier ranks,that problem reoccures in quite many cases as much I can see (I have few accounts from wo1 to gismo and I know what am I talking about),today I even saw what I haven't quite some time,although,jump hackers are quite normal in wo ranks (almost every battle have at least one),today I encountered invisible one..I could only see him when he fired a shot (rail),map was CP polygon,hell,he even took the point alone,and no line (we were blue team and blue line is seen when caping/neutralizing point),nobody could hit him,this game laggs that much that I even don't even bother to record,even if he would be blocked,he will start over again,he'll reach that same rank in 2-3 days if want's to,and it will produce same old things all over again.I asked my team to vote him (EN server),no one knew what is that..all they know,and I quote sentence that I see daily 100+ times from ranks of WO till marshall (so sad to see):"admin plz goldbox"..if you devs have some common sence make some update which will educate your players about some basic game rules/settings,then,and only then make other useless updates again..thy for reading

This update is horrible for several reasons:

1. The system cannot tell when to and when not to use the quick-battle-end timer. It is completely random.

2. The timer comes on at dumb times, and for the wrong reasons. It seems to be influenced more by capture rate than flag number. More than once, I and others have been in battles where a few flags were captured very quickly, but we were still behind, and yet the timer came on anyway.

3. The system doesn't come into effect when it really needs to. Sometimes players who aren't as good don't do as well, and get completely stomped. However, the timer still won't come on at appropriate times to simply grant them mercy. This gets very boring very fast. Everyone ends up leaving.

4. The timer notice is illogical. Often, the timer comes on when the losing team captures several flags in quick succession, completely ruining its chances of getting ahead, or the timer comes on at moments where the score is very close, and the timer ruins the game for everyone by ending the game at inconvenient moments.

5. It doesn't make a difference sometimes: the timers come on when the battle is close to finishing anyways, when there are only a few minutes left on the normal clock.

Overall, the idea is very good, but past implementation has shown this to be impossible to actually be helpful, and in fact be detrimental to the game as a whole. Unless the developers actually control the arrival of the timer at right times, this "feature" should be removed from the game.

There are times when an idea which is conceptually appealing is simply unrealistic. This is one of those times.

 

Please cease spending valuable time attempting to improve this feature and remove it.

Hey guys! We noted the feedback about the red timer popping up too often. Thanks a lot for sharing the info with us. Our game designers have just changed the system's parameters, now it's harder to trigger (3 times harder, to be precise). The updated system applies to all battles created today after 7 am UTC.

 

If you have more things to share about the work of the system, make sure you share them in this topic.

Still no good!

 

We're still getting all those nonsense notices and noise all the time! And the battle's time keeps on changing for no reasonable motive!

 

Please scrap this!

 

Keep it simple! The basis for your algorithm is obviously flawed!

Why don't you just give up on the timer?

Go back to a certain number of captured flags or do away with the timer all together.

Players can't even play the battle till the the time ends to try and get xp.

Also when making a come back the game ends too soon.

This thing does not work. Sorry... please take it out and thing about something different.

On top of that it is not working, it really disturbs the battle flow.

 

we sit in a battle, one team is behind (as usual).

In Noise last time every 30 seconds this damm horn blasts in..

Funny thing was, althugh we won 31:11 flags, the game was _not_ terminated in advance xD (but we have been horn'ed all the time)

 

This really distracts from the game.

In smaller battles when we wait to fill them up (sandbox 4:4) and keep killing to get the time passed by, the thing comes in and in.. and we have to make sure the thing does not terminate in advance, while we have not yet started plaing..

this update = very annoying. The alert comes on every three seconds.. the opponent team captured a flag so it was 1 : 0 and the alert came on. Then our team only had two minutes to get more points or the battle would end. The alert is too sensitive and doesn't manage to solve its intended goal.

a real annoying update.i cant see where i shoot text is everywhere very bad for snipers also the horn sounds are bothering my ears  plz fix this.can u plz put an option for logging out i dont want to clear my browser cache everyday to play with my alt

Deves remove this "new" timer and then give us back the old one.

 

Once you have fixed this one do an open testing on the test server to remove any found bugs, that's what its there for! Then bring the non-buggy one back into the game.
