Are you saying 30 times bigger then a regular map in the game? If so, that's almost impossible with the limited support a single map can handle as a flash game, it would be very hard and would have extreme lag. For example Rio is a map I have trouble to play with all the lag; and it takes up 3.5MB of data (one of the larger maps when it comes to data size). It may not seem like a lot, but if you think about it, with all the other maps, this would take up a lot of data and cause even more lag. Maybe in the unity version it may be able to handle bigger maps.

So....

  • I would lose my battle fund that I had worked up
  • I would spend time trying to find everyone
  • Players would just hide until they can fight the last people
  • It wouldn't be very fair.......

Also, the map size you are suggesting is way too large for the Flash engine.

I think this is a good idea (except for the big map idea)

 

I know where you are coming from, let me explain

 

Its like in gta san andreas multilayer (which im sure some of you play) where players are selected to take part in one big death match and the winner who survives gets crystals, it could be like a new tournament mode

 

Of course the tanks health could be modified in this mode and the maps played could be new, or have some special custom mode (water, land, sea etc) Like those gta maps. Hope they implement this

What if it is plain open ground. Nothing else. No props. No bumps (Like ones in massacare).

In any battle most of the server load is due to the game engine calculating tank movement and interaction between players. A bigger map will take longer to load initially, but even Dusseldorf will have less lag than Sandbox if there are less players in the former.

guys let me rephrase this there would be a couple servers for this not totally random also 30X THE MAP Size was an exaggeration is a base idea not every little detail planed out that's what devs are for

With tweaks, this could be fun:

  • Players would be given the option to be sent to the All-Out DM. That way, they can choose whether or not to lose their score/stop chatting with friends.
  • The map wouldn't be very large, perhaps an existing map that is large enough for about 20 players.
  • There would be one All-Out DM per server, and if 20 players do not register, then it's cancelled for awhile.
  • Maybe only 1-2 of these per day at random times.
