Lets discuss The Server Updates

Recommended Posts

We all know Server Updates can be frustrating and sometimes long. Which,at times, makes us hate the game for a little bit. Now, we all know its to help the game be better, but what if we had updates on servers individually? Would that be better? Think about it. All you had to do was switch to another server. No logging in again, no waiting, and no people saying they hate the game just because of updates. Anyway, that's just what i think. :)  :)  :)

  • Server updates aren't long, unless it is for an update. They last five minutes, and this is really not bad at all.
  • If we had individual updates for each server, it would just take a lot more of the developers time to fix a very minor issue.
  • It would be impossible to have separate server updates for a game update. The developers are changing the files for the game, so it wouldn't be possible for it to happen in separate servers. If it could, it would be weird because some servers would already have the new update and some wouldn't.

Not a bad idea. But not necessarily worth it.

Thank you for the advice!!!

All servers are connected to each other so any change in one reflects in all others. For example, when you rank up in EN3 you will also rank up in say, RU1. This way any update has to affect all servers.

Of course, your idea is applicable to non connected servers like Brazilian server.

[Note : This is how test servers work. Any update on test servers does not affect main servers]

Hmm.. but wouldn't that change the whole concept of 'Server updates'? If you're asking that TO should have server updates on each server separately than that would create a lot of work for the system/person running the whole thing of Server updates. Plus it would be a much complex task. Inspite of that, in times of an update this concept would not work.

The server update happens at an unusual time by default. After a couple of minutes of being shut down the servers are back and readily waiting for players to enter. :)

I'm pretty sure it's automatic...  -_-

Updating the servers is easier when doing all of them at once. If they are updating a few at a time, the other ones would have more of a load, if they all update at the same time, it's just a few minutes to wait normally.

Answer is simple: Be Patient.

How about a special server for applying all new updates and see how they go for a day or two, before these updates are implemented in the other servers?

A normal one, not like test server, where all players enter with their password and own whatever they own in general. But where all changes will apply first.

Thus, proper feedback would be available and major frustration from failed updates (like the one regarding early battle finish) could be avoided...

I'm a bit mixed on server updates. They are pretty useful to have, esp. when ending those what seem like never ending battles. Imagine a 999 battle @_@ they'd take days to finish and the original starters of the match would be gone.......hopefully. Server updates helps refresh everything or make everything new IMO.
