I've been through the same situation, so I know exactly what you're talking about.... ;)

First, don't be awkward around her, just be calm and cool..... just be yourself.... :)

Second, talk about something that she likes, and then she will open up and talk more freely.... ;)

Third, say only nice things around her...

NEVER talk about anything negative.... ;)

Fourth, read through this topic to get some more advice.... :)

First, get comfortable with her group. Since it's a bus, she must have a friend or two. Once you get used to talking to her in a group, it won't be much difficult to talk to her alone.
