Ideas for Turrets!

Thunder can two shot five out of seven hulls and one shot kill all light hulls in the game the same way.

That is the reason why Thunder needs 10% damage nerf...

The bounce is only for rapid-fire shots or also for sniper shots?

 

Range is one of the most important turret parametres because it affects its gameplay more than any other parameter. Does the gun have unlimited range like Railgun and Striker or 100-130 range like Thunder, Smoky and Vulcan?

 

Thunder and Vulcan have 50% weak damage, that means they deal 50% damage beyond their effective range. Smoky has only 10% weak damage so it gets outplayed by Thunder at long range (one of the reasons why Thunder is OP, the others are splash and big DPS for a long range gun).

New Turret

 

I like the name of "Frigate" or "Rambut "Drill" fits better

 

Facts

-Automatic turret

-Shots bullets

-Its bullets has gravity so its useless in maps like Highways but works and maps like Sandal (i mean when shooting enemy base from you base)

-Time per shot 0.2 secs

-It need to use all its bullets to reload again (around 150 bullets to reload again) (30 seconds firing)

-Its bullets can penetrate small walls

BUT to do this you must shot at same area at least 7 seconds "to break it".

Obviusly the wall will be not broken, when its bullets begin to "pierce the wall", it will just show a visual effect like Dust.

Railgun doesnt need a buff!!!!!!!!1!11111!1 


freeze and magnum and maybe smoky need a nerf (or at least to their anti-railgun power), that's probably what is making Railgun seem "under-powered". But Railgun itself does not need a buff.

Railgun needs more skill than any other turret except Striker.

Debatable. I strongly disagree.

 

Ah yes. Railgun deals damage so it is OP. I see. 

Remember the Railgun boi can't just spam double damage, he's on a cooldown. Unless he dies a bunch which isn't the most beneficial to him either. 

You're on a cooldown too. DD lasts 30 seconds and has a 30 seconds cooldown. 30 seconds of continuous one-shot kills, 30 seconds of normal effectiveness. I can't help but feel you've never played against guys with the high caliber alteration and drugs, they ruin games. Like I said before somewhere: if there is a Railgun in the game and you are not using a heavy hull, you have to constantly use DA if you don't want to get one-shotted from across the map.

 

First of all, railgun cannot one shot medium hulls with DP since 2016.

Secondly, I was talking about railgun. No one here was talking about drugs.

You are simply deluding yourself into thinking that.

Any half-way competent Railgun player (and incompetent ones too) is using high caliber now, it's been 2 years, everyone who wanted it has bought it. Drugs are relevant to this discussion, because they are ingrained in the game meta now. The problem I have with Railgun is the one-shot ability. It's not like Shaft, where you have to expose yourself for a few seconds to get a kill, with Railgun you can poke out for a fraction of a second. It takes 0 skill to play and is a massive pain to fight against. 

 

Thunder has a very small chance of one-shotting lights. Railgun consistently one-shots meds of its own modification, and can one-shot meds even of the next modification.

It needs double damage to do so, WHICH IS EASILY COUNTERED BY A DOUBLE ARMOR FOR EQUAL COST.

Right, you need double armor enabled practically at all times to not get instantly one-shotted. Does this seem fair and balanced? You at least have time to react against Thunder, Smoky, even Magnum, etc, and they also have finite range and damage dropoff (except Magnum). With Railgun, forget it. High caliber Rail is massive cancer once it is unlocked.

 

I know on paper this doesn't seem like much, but in battle . . . if there are two or more it's worse than Magnum sometimes.

I would be fine if it had no high-caliber alteration. Tbh i never liked alterations anyways


As someone pointed out, they were supposed to change the gameplay of the turret while still keeping it balanced, but right now they're almost always an upgrade

I got an idea for new turret. I call it: Excalibur and heres how it works.

 

It has rapid fire like vulcan and sniper mode like shaft+ the bouncing projectiles of ricochet and hammer. It also can be an excellent choice of parkour.

 

Pros

Very powerful

Combined with the abilities of multiple weapons

You can zoom in the sniper mode a lot faster.

Overheating time is slower than vulcan

 

Cons

Very expensive if its in the garage.

Takes time to master.

Does self damage

Long reload time

Have you ever thought about the term: "Game Balance"?

Heavy caliber turrets like Railgun, Thunder or Smoky can not penetrate the walls and you want to add a machine gun which penetrates them?

 

The idea of adding a machine gun with 30-50 rounds magazine is great idea because it could not fire 'forever' (until self-destruction) like Vulcan so it could have more DPS and it would require more skill. The player would need to pay attention on the ammo.

Without HC alt or with. Both are fun to play and need different styles of playing. The HC alt gives you the feeling of the railgun before 2016. Without it, rail can be a versatile mid-range turret. Playing against experienced or skilled players is harder, because you cannot just shoot and score. You have to place your shot. It is a lot of more fun then "shooting ducks" which happens if there is no answer against its all-range power. I play a lot of railgun and love its difficulties and challenges when encountered with a strong opponent. Please do not buff or nerf railgun. It is really fine.

It is a valid point, since if there is a Railgun in the battle, you have to have double armor on at all times if you don't want to get one-shotted. And even if the supplies cancel out, you get half of you HP taken off in one shot. Railgun with alterations (majority of serious Railgun players) is a massive pain to fight and takes absolutely 0 game sense or skill to play.

its not as op  as you think because of modules and repair kits is really effective against it because of the reload time.

It needs buff because it has serious problems with Thunder and its 50% 'weak' damage.

tanki already ruined the game with magnum, this would make it much worse

It would be OK without wall penetration. Do machine guns and auto-cannons ruin War Thunder? No, they make it better and more funny.

 

Just try War Thunder. It is so amazing to destroy tanks with GAZ-MM 72-K, ZIS-12 94-KM, M15 GMC or another AA truck.

 

Tanki really need more turrets xD

The gun strongly needs a buff ,

 

In 2016 they killed rail by the huge nerf ,

 

 

They add alt cost 100k just to re the gun how it was before buying that alt , its look like they add. Extra 100k to rail price ,

 

 

Xp bp battles ruined by the 3 shots coz of the very low min dmg that's completely unfair ! ,

 

 

And I see many agreed with me that railgun needs a buff , but even if the whole community agree for rail buff it won't get that buff , why and how ?

 

 

First of all nives and his crew (mods-forum Adkins) are not passing any ideas they are here wasting time , second , if the devs hear that the community wants railgun buff (it won't coz of nives and his crew I swear) they won't .
