Ideas for Turrets!

hmm... That is what should make it difficult to use... With a laser guided arc it will become too easy. If a player spends some time testing and trying to play with this turret he will soon be able to visualize where his shot will land. Long back I used to play an FPS called uberstrike in that game u did have grenade launchers which required some visualization of where a grenade would land.

Well, players starting off with the gun wouldn't be able to aim it at all. There's gotta be at least some indicator of (approximately) where it will hit. A large-ish target that moves away from the player in the direction they're aiming could work, as it would become difficult to see it, and the shell wouldn't land exactly on top of the bulls-eye of the target.

no need for the indicator since there will be those players who will be totally confused and not use the weapon at all while there will be those players who will take the pains to learn the weapon and soon pawn everybody with it in the right conditions for the weapon, this when other players will realise that the turret can be rewarding if learnt how to use properly. Well yeah, but Vulcan wasn't impossible to aim, and the players knew what they were getting into since the gun's description was in the garage. This gun would be very difficult to aim until you got the hang of it after practicing for a long time with it. I really think there should be some sort of minimal indicator for where the shell will hit. It doesn't have to be super precise, but should give an approximate location of where the shell will hit. Eventually players will be able to predict more accurately than the indicator, but the indicator helps to make that prediction. I just think it would be necessary in order to play with the mortar, similar to the shaft's scope being able to move up and down instead of following the normal turret movement line, the shaft is just unusable without that aspect.

I think there should be a missile launcher. To shot you would tap space, then you would go into shoot mode where you would point a laser that would guide the missile. Then you tap space again and if you can keep it on the enemy long enough( because the missile will go slower than Rico) then if they don't go around a corner or a wall you'd hit them and be able to move again.

Tanki has many types of turrets but one more turret which I feel they should add is an artillery turret which would combine best with a medium hull like dictator or the two heavy hulls. U could also name the turret howitzer as it would function like one. I suggest this turret should have a decently long range. Also if u may have noticed that there is no turret in this game whose projectiles do not travel in a straight line. Therefore this turret's projectiles will curve and fall due to gravity. Also this turret will have a very low velocity projectile speed (something between twins and ricochet projectile speeds). This turret will also need to charge before firing similar to shaft but it won't have an optical scope attached to it. Also longer u hold on to the charge, farther would the projectile travel. Therefore for medium range targets u should not hold on to the charge for long otherwise the projectile would fly overhead harmlessly. It would have a reload similar to that of shaft and damage will vary for how long u ho the charge similar way to the way it works in shaft though max damage will never be more than that f railgun and minimum damage will be a little less than hammer and max range will be a little les than that of Vulcan. The difference between this turret and other mid range turrets is that hwitzer's damage will keep increasing over range. It will be ideal for mid to long range mapsit wll also have a splash damage which will damage itself if it fires on a wall or any obstacle within its radius. Therefore this turret will require a lot of skill but learning how to use it will also be very rewarding. It can always use cover while attacking and attack enemies under cover. Will also be ideal to tackle campers close to the flag like in Noise though it will require a lot of skill be able to use a high charge in that map otherwise the projectile would fly out of the map harmlessly. I don't think this turret is a bad idea and howitzer is also a decent name. This turret will be most effective in defensive roles therefore won't be very good for DMs unless the user finds a good camping spot.

 

I think this is a very accurate description of how an artillery turret should work in this game. Also if such a turret is introduced, they would have to add protection from this turret to existing paints and may also have to create new paints. I wonder if the Devs will read this but guys if u like my idea please up vote it since it may make a difference.

I will see if I can come up with how the turret should look like. Like please :)

I suggest a new turret called the Moofleycoop. This turret is a large, green blob, and shoots goofyflurps. These goofylflurps bounce across the ground, heading for any enemy tanks they can see. When they come across the ground they leave trails of green goofyooze. This goofyooze will stuckify any tank that crosses it. The stuckified tanks must do the goofygoo dance in order to escape from the stickyness.

Devs, hire this guy as a designer right now, k.

hi guys.my idea is for ricochet.when you play in team and shot to a friend it just punch with impact force.i think that if its shot ricochet from friends tank,it would be great and better.

This gun is more for camping and it can come werry useful for everyone, because of turrets position. As you might see turret is on right side so it can become werry useful in combination with wasp so you can show only turret to your enemy.

For not being the same as shaft, it HAVE to own different stats or projectiles.

Projectiles should look like smoky is shooting when they hit the target.

+ Good for camping behind walls using wasp or other tiny hulls (Hornet wont be good choise)

+ This turret is hight in air so can become realy useful with hulls like dictator

- If you HAVE to stay behind wall where you cant show only turret, you have to show all your tank what might kill you.

- using with dictator may cause problems of killing viking what is lowest hull in game yet. So if it bumbps you, you are almost already dead.

- Where it aims it shows light point on the ground, wall or tank.

-isnt too strong like shaft now.

new gun-The Shrapnel gun

 

similar thing was used in real life  9 shrapnel shells for anti-personel and more like the suggestion the flak shells bringing down bombers

 

basicly imahine the shell of this gun as a glass cube with explosives inside it- when it explodes there is shrapnel flying everywere

 

so as i said this gun would have a meter added to the HUD in the purpuse of it would by for example holding a button we set the range at witch it will explode when it explodes at that range it will do damige in the are but not splash damige- there should be set ammount of shrapnels witch randomly

shatter like for example hammers shots so its a gamble but either way you dont have to set up the range you can simply fire-but then it will not explode and it will need direct hit to do damige AND that damige will be only the portion of damige it could have done otherwise

 

now that combined with the kick of the shrapnels hiting you you could lead your enemy to some pretty trickey situations

realy opens a room to think

 

for the look i think it should have a long barrel it should be relativly show turning and its shrapnel damige should be incrised from the thunders to compensate for the range setting and the gamble and thats its undetonated hit should have around eh 2 -3 ricos shots

 

i think it would fit into game much more nicely then thunder becuse from my experience 99,9 kills i get in thunder i get from direct hits and indirectly damiging is not really efficant and i get a kill only if they are about to die-

 

------------this suggestion is to make quite the opposite-the gun that actualy encuriges you to shoot indirectly but still needs skill

 

maybe then te devs will need to add 1 more gun that is damige wise closer to thunder or youst leave thunder in becuse its reload time is quite well timed or they could youst replace that with schrapnel gun too

 

please say somthing on this becuse it seems that a lots of sugestions are youst passing by

 

also support the sugestion of long self heal able hull becuse it would be quite a pair with the schrapnell gun

 

also inj real life flak rounds left dark smoke when they exploded and it can be seen on old films (the dots around planes)

 

so maybe when the round explodes it could leave dark cloud on the batlefield that would work as a tree but dark tree so multiple schrapnel guns on the field could be quite formidable

Shock launcher (Someone should think of a better name):

Does about a twins worth of damage

Smokey reload

When it hits a tank it will bounce to any other tank within a certain radius (about fire birds range)

Can bounce between tanks

Has no time limit and will destroy tanks if they stay together when hit

Can damage friends and allies by bouncing but can’t directly shoot them so no purposely hurting your team

Can damage self

If no other tanks are in range it detonates and does around a Smokey shot in damage

 

 

(Variation) Shock Sprayer (again would need a better name):

 

Range and damage is close to firebird?

When shooting a tank electricity bounces to any nearby tanks

Streams will bend around corner or down ledges to hit a tank

Shoots our thin streams of electricity

Does damage like a hammer, however many streams hit the tank it does that much damage.

Will damage allies if it bounces to them but you can’t directly shoot them

 

(Variation 2) Shock Sniper (again, new name)

 

Range or a thunder damage of Smokey

When you shoot wherever the shot hits a circle or electricity about as long as a mammoth or isida range goes out. All enemy tanks in the range are damaged and “Shocked”

“Shocked” tanks can’t move turn or shoot while shocked (or maybe only shoot or only move or something like that)

Reload is about a railgun

all allied tanks in the “shock” radius get healed about a Smokey shot???????

 

 

Maybe this gun can swap between gun modes to be close range, mid ranged, or long ranged gun by hitting  1,2 or 3  or scrolling

I'm thinking about an artillery gun with splash damage, perhaps it have clips(3 shot then a long reload) like the Hammer and damage maybe like Thunder or BETTER. The turret shape perhaps look like the M109 Howitzer.

 

The Advantage would be :-

-auto-loading feature(clipgun, like the Hammer)

-high splash damage (sniping mode only) (like the Thunder)

-big splash radius

-arcade mode (like the Shaft).

 

The disadvantages of this gun would be:-

-slow shell velocity

-long reload (due to clipgun)

-low arcade mode damage(like the Shaft again)
-unable to hit the enemy hiding behind cover such as building.

-lack of accuracy(sniping mode only).

-vulnerable in small maps.

-slow traverse speed.

-penalty aiming time when elevating the gun. (For sniping mode only - crosshair shaking like the Shaft from previous version on sniping mode and stop when the penalty time ends)

 

The interface of crosshair perhaps look like the one in World Of Tanks maybe.
