Hello!

As you all know, when a weapon upgrades from m0 to m3, the look of not only the weapon itself changes, but its shot changes as well.

For example, the Thunder shot gets bigger, the Shaft shot becomes red, and the Twins plasma becomes green.

However there is something strange in the visual changes of Firebird and Freeze upgrade.

For reference (credit to splitterpoint's topic), here is what the changes in these guns looks like as they upgrade:

There is little to no difference at all between the shots of these two guns as they upgrade. This is especially true for Freeze...it stays exactly the same! Wouldn't you like to tell them apart somehow, just as you could a Twins, or a Railgun?

You could say this topic is meaningless, it's just a visual effect, it's not important. But it actually would be crucial in battle, since this way you could very quickly see what you are up against from afar, without having to take a close look at the gun itself.

And the thing is, during the old pre-2012 graphics there existed a stark difference between their shots. Old Tanki veterans can attest to this. M2 Firebird shot purple fire, while M3's stream of fire turned blue. This gave it a fearsome look! Meanwhile Freeze shots slowly became white at M3.

But for some odd reason, developers removed the difference. Realism perhaps? For a sci-fi arcade shooter, realism becomes stale, wouldn't you agree?

My proposal is to return these visual distinctions and add a little excitement to gameplay.

Here is a rough draft on how it would look in the new graphics (please excuse the n00b-level photoshop :P  ):

So you see the difference. And it does not take away from the gameplay. Rather, like I said, it adds to variety and excitement.

What do you think? Do you agree that there should there be these visual changes between the Firebird and Freeze upgrades? Or should it remain "realistic"? Take the poll, and voice your opinions below!

What if I told you that before the new graphics update from a couple years ago this was exactly what Firebird's flame colours were for different upgrades. It looked cool, but the developers didn't like it, so they made all flame colours a shade of yellow. I'n pretty sure Freeze also had different shades of blue and white, but they changed that too. I doubt that the old colours will ever be back exactly the way they were before.

He did say that these were the old graphics.

Personally, I would like to see stark differences in the color as you upgrade, it makes for unique-ness.

These visual effects will not return to the game due the developers goals, and overall plan. Furthermore, suggestions regarding the return of Tanki to any of its previous states is not allowed.
