Bonuses for kill streaks

I have idea about adding some new mechanics about kills. There should be double, triple and quad kills. I have interesting idea on how would they work and what will they give.

  • Double kill - gives 1.2x to those 2 kills, meaning instead of 20 EXP you will get 24 EXP, also gives 1.2x to the battlefound ( instead of normal value that adds up for killing tank with certain rank )
  • Triple kill - gives 1.3x to those 3 kills, meaning instead of 30 EXP you will get 39 EXP, also gives 1.3x to the battlefound ( instead of normal value that adds up for killing tank with certain rank )
  • Quad kill - gives 1.4x to those 4 kills, meaning instead of 40 EXP you will get 56 EXP, also gives 1.4x to the battlefound ( instead of normal value that adds up for killing tank with certain rank )

If you get 1st kill, you have 1/1.5 second to make second and make a double kill and so on.

This way weapons with energy and small reload with no splash can make kill series if they react quick.

Now only weapon that cannot do multi kills is shaft and eventually smoky. That is duo their lower reolad speed/no splash DMG. This way i think you can reward tankers with just a little bit of extra EXP points while not breaking game mechanics. Now the only down side is that im not sure will tankers be able to use this as farming, but even if they do the small EXP boost provides almost nothing more then killing 2,3,4 tanks at once. So i think this might be some cool tweak to the game and it can also open much more opportunities, new daily missions, new "assignment" for weekend giveaways and so on. It might not be bad!

Why bad idea? I guess you never played Poly CP or havent thought about it ;) . Many times i mad double kill with thunder i`d say about 5 times per 60 mins. Wouldnt that little buff me with like 20 EXP? It is not much but in 120 min battle you can make around 10 DK, 1-2 TK and maybe a QK which can provide you with extra lets say about 100 EXP. Not bad? Per day it is and it is totaly free + it would bee shown and added o your score so if you make multi kill you can be more competetive. Bad side, again it can make tankers wait for each other so some of them gets last shot and kill which can ruin gameplay significantly BUT again the EXP bonus is not big at all so idk. Maybe its too small but i think it might be ussefull for such situations. And it can increase battlefound and make battle more worthy. Its all big maybe.

 

EDIT: Maybe remove the EXP rewards, only add multiplier to battlefound ( like per each rank DoubleK x1.2 , TripleK x1.3 and so on, instead of ussual value for the rank kill )

I do not want this update otherwise people would not go out and attack. There would just be campers which would disrupt the balance of the game.

A couple of times I get really excited and feel really pro (I'm pretty sure a lot of you guys do too) when I'm on a kill streak or I get a double/triple kill. Especially when I'm using Railgun. 

 

The suggestion:

  • Implement a killstreak system
  • Plus 5 XP for every consecutive kill made in one life i.e. 1st kill 10XP, 2nd kill 15XP, etc. up to 6 kills
  • Multi-kills made in the killstreak would give more XP than consecutive kills that are made one by one
  • I.e. Double kill 20XP, Triple kill 25XP, Quad kill 35XP, Penta-kill 50XP, anything above would be very difficult unless you are playing a Polygon CP which is still pretty uncommon and difficult to pull off (excluding Double Damage users but usually there are people with Double Armor equipped and there probably isn't 6 people at the point at once.
  • All killstreaks and double/combo kills are made with one life. Activating a repair kit would get rid of your killstreak.
  • XP Multiplier resets at 6 kills to prevent counter leveling
  • Another suggestion would be to add a killstreak timer where you are given a certain amount of time to kill as many players as possible within that time to prevent campers. The timer would activate once you get 2/3 consecutive kills in one life
  • XP for team kills should be more than solo/regular kills (as in multiple players contribute to one kill, thus giving each player more XP instead of the normal 15XP split) The 15XP split happens often in XP/BP battles (the most common battles now) where one player does most of the damage to a hull and the other one kills him and the XP is split 11-4 (average) respectively.

Pros:

  • Encourages players to develop skills to dodge shots and increase accuracy and efficiency
  • Makes most of the turrets more popular since most of the turrets are capable of killing multiple enemies at once (only Smoky, Isida, Ricochet, and Vulcan are one-kill-at-a-time but kill streaks are still viable)
  • Helpful for those who do not have the Premium account 50% XP bonus and want to rank up fast
  • Must be solo kills, no team assists
  • Increases popularity of Isida since you can heal yourself while you kill enemies
  • Happens once in while
  • Ever since the changes in CTF where all contributors to a kill get divided xp, there has been way way less TDM battles, so this system could promote more TDM battles because there is no flag to worry about so you can concentrate on getting those killstreaks. ;)

Cons:

  • Can be taken advantage of by players who gather a group of friends and line them up for easy multi-kill and bonus xp
  • The main con is that it encourages drugging (with a heavy hull and lots of health) to get kill streaks
  • System favors Shaft (RustyNail), however, Shaft is not the only turret that can multi-kill and it is very rare in battles for a players to line-up for a Shaft in the proper position with the right angle and damage to multi-kill them.
  • Isida, Smoky, Ricochet, and Vulcan cannot get multi-kills which is unfair and promotes other turrets capable of it (RustyNail)

 

Like if you want this in the game!   :) :D

I like this idea and have thought of it myself a long time ago, honestly dont know why it aint in the game.

Yes for normal battlefound. Instead of like 9.some cry for killing legend you will get 9.some x1.2,1.3,1.4 added to battlefound. Maybe ussefull, right?

Was going to say that if this goes into battle-fund it might be useful.

 

But then I remembered the times when battles were out of control - where one side is spawn-killing the other.

Then this idea is a huge problem - as it just encourages more spawn-killing.

The winning team will then get a larger portion of a larger pie.

And even though battle fund might be larger, the losing team likely get even less as you don't get many crystals for dying.

 

Sorry - can't endorse the idea for team battles.

 

Maybe in DMs it can work. I see less exploitation there.

Thats true but the only thing that is increasing here is battlefound and by almost nothing more than ussual. Sometimes that 1 team dominates over another i dont think that can ruin balances with prizes because anyways losing team gets (almost) nothing + they always run away. If some team easly dominates over another they will run not depending on battlefound, i think it can only motivate them to play harder to equalize match.

All these people saying "good idea" but this is practically useless for short range turrets and any regular shaft can easily get a massive amount of score.

Excuse me, are you talking general on EXP streaks or my idea. Not sure what your talkin bout.

If you kill players in a row you will get 5 extra score per kill and +5 after every 10 kills in a row

I'm Shaft player

Right now I have 0 kills and score per kill is 10 score :)

I killed 10 Tanks & I have 100 score. Score per kill changed to 15 :D

I killed 20 tanks & I have 250 score. Score per kill changed to 20 :ph34r:

Oh I firebird destroyed me :ph34r:

Score per kill reset to 10 :(

Let developers decide after what number of kills score bonus will be activated

Killing 10 players in the same life should give you more score than killing 1 person at a time for ten times

Double,Triple,Ultra Kill

when you destroy a tank and right after that you destroy another tank you will see a sign saying double kill which will give you more points and XP, but if you are that skilled and you kil a third person then it would say triple kill which will triple your points and XP, but for example you have [thunder, magnum, striker, guass] and you kill  two or three tanks in a row it will say either double kill or triple which will double or triple the amount of XP and points of the normal amount, but if you kill more than three at once it will say ultra kill which will make your XP and points ultra.

I don't exactly remember if bonus points for kill streaks were in Tanki X, but I DO remember there was a voice informing you about your success in battle. It was kinda cool.

Double Kill!

Triple Kill!

Kill Streak!

 

Kinda like how it is in SJR we have today.
