That proves nothing, it is possible to be healthy and fit as a vegetarian. Like I already showed you. The fact that most people who eat meat that I have met, are over weight doesn't prove anything either. So don't bother bringing such an argument up.

I'm just trying to save you from the big mistake you are making... btw meat doesn't make you fat or obese.

Exactly my point, this is why I said, that argument is irrelevant. (Nor does being vegetarian make you skinny)

Trying to save me from making a big mistake huh? And what mistake is that?

Being vegetarian ._. cuz i eat both vegies and meat.

How is eating meat a mistake? I'm saving animals and I'm perfectly healthy. How could it possibly be a mistake?

God made us fit in the ecosystem, we were mean't to eat meat and vegetables, we weren't just meant to eat, just vegetables...

I am not much of a fan for animals, but I feel guilty watching them get tortured and eating them :L
So yea... I am slowly stepping away from this meat-eating thing...

You don't find them convincing? But it's a fact that you can get protein without eating meat.

"But seriously, meat contains some important nutrients which vegetation does not contain, so for having a normally functioning organism you sometimes have to eat meat."

There are millions of vegetarians that are "normally functioning" and are healthy and fit.

Yes but

proteinsources.jpgI don't like most of them and the only one of those I wouldn't mind eating is egg

If I have learned anything from this topic, it is that Paratrix is a devout vegetarian.

But each to their own I guess. I'm not planning on becoming a vegetarian anytime soon. It's not as if we're the only species who hunt and eat other creatures.

^ lol well I guess you could say unnecessarily killing animal life for consumption when we don't even have a nutritional requirement for eating meat is a mistake too =P

Well the vegetarians are acting like we are the only ones who  kill animals lol

Of course we don't. We don't have control over what other species eat. But we do have control over ourselves and we can try and convince other humans.

Like I said before, it comes down to pleasure, laziness, being uneducated or simply being selfish and not caring for the other species who we share this planet with.

Just because other species do things, doesn't mean we should. Those species that hunt animals, usually do it because they need to do it to survive.

Years ago, the human species used to hunt animals to survive. No need to stop now. Food chains revolve around the idea of supply and demand; species are balanced.

Just because we did something in the past doesn't mean we should and need to do it now. Like I said the other day, we are more civilised now. - With that attitude, we would never have abolished slavery. The human species used to have other humans as slaves, but now we know that to be wrong. There is no need to eat meat, so why put animals through such suffering.

Dear Players,                                                           Be Vegetarian!

I'm just writing this to make you stop eating Animals meat. You don't know how many Animals suffer when you kill them and just eat them? They suffer just like us Humans when we are killed. Most animals that are Hunted (Not to eat them) are: Lions, Tigers, Elephants (Only a small amount left on the Earth). Animals are our friends sometimes, So be Vegetarian! and Plants are also considered as living things. When you get their roots out it hearts them.

Hmmm not sure how much you have thought this through. Are you against people eating meat, or do you have a problem with hunting?.

Killing animals just for there tusk or fur is not good i will agree but killing for food is fine. Just look at our teeth we have Molars, premolars, canines and incisors. these are desinged for all sort of food from fruit and veg to meat. I also like a nice steak, lamb chop, pork chop, etc so shall not be giving up meat anytime soon.

Well, i agree the 2nd point, Stop hunting animals without eating.

but i like meat not all meats, i like chicken :) if we dont eat them, who will do that ? they will get more and more .

anyway GL ;)

since when is chicken a meat its poultry..lol

not really if you keep the roosters away then the females wont breed any more so that`s one way lol..we do need the males close buy to make the females lay eggs only as long as they are not fertile were good there safe to eat the eggs

and yea there is a point to all this for the farm animals we do it like a industry the more you breed the more we have but one day too many breeding will give us cross breeding and then we have problems..for the ones who hunt ( like my husband) for sport its ok if you are eating the meat but if your going in it for pleasure then there is no need for it..for us we only kill deer ( bambi) for over population areas not for trophies and for the record he has never killed one ever..the guys mostly hang at the cabin and talk about the good old days before they got married lol

1. Have you been inside slaughter houses, do you know what they're like? There are many videos that show animals being abused in slaughter houses but very few if any at all that show them being treated well. I have proof, you have none (that you've shown). TheVeganAtheist is fairy unbiased shown from his other videos - for example, his "stupid vegan comments" videos.

There are so many videos that show animal cruelity, it must be done on quite a large scale

2. Ok (:

3.I'm saying that usually the reason that people aren't vegetarian is because they find eating meat very pleasurable or too lazy to find an alternative.(when shopping or making home-made vegetarian alternatives)

But I do admit that it often comes down to people being uneducated or them just not caring about other species

1. No, I haven't been in any slaughterhouses, my opinion is mostly based on what is said in the rules and regulations about animal welfare, on the authorities that check if the rules are being followed, the veterinarians always being present in slaughterhouses and studies written about this matter. Have you been in any slaughterhouses?

This isn't proof that it always goes like this and if you think this is also cruel, then it's just a difference in opinon between us.

I'd like to point out though, that dying is never without stress or pain, dying is never fun, but dying is inevitable.

Also, you think TheVeganAtheist is fairly unbiased. I've watched some of his videos and I've come to the conclusion that he finds facts that confirm his beliefs, just like pretty much everyone does, including you and me. I can also tell you that the video he made about animal cruelty is outdated to an extend (at least some parts are filmed 20 years ago). Like I said before, this shows the worst, it's made to shock people, which it does not fail to do. But in reality, it's not as black and white as the video implies. In some parts he implies something as true, like the part about dairy cows: 'they collapse and die from exhaustion', which I know from experience is not the norm, and cows being dragged like that, doesn't happen unless they're in a position that endangers themselves and/or others. Also, dehorning without anesthetics is (at least in Europe) against the rules, antibiotics are only given to dairy cows to cure them from a disease and only when it's prescribed and given by a veterinarian. Milk from cows who have been given antibiotics is strictly forbidden to be delivered to the dairy factory, same goes with meat animals by the way. There's a certain period of time (7-14 days for example) after antibiotic injection, animals or animal products cant be processed for consumption. If a farmer does deliver, he will be fined (all of this in an effort to prevent more antibiotic resistance).

We've come a long way since those images shown in that video, people have gotten much more aware of animal welfare, which I think is great. It's still far from perfect, but we're heading in the right direction.

2. (:

3. Agreed on that, still many people think a meal should consist of vegetables, meat/fish and potatoes/rice/pasta... while there are so many other combinations you can make.

I also agree with you that we're not having a verbal war, it's a discussion. I'm also in no way trying to convince you to to start eating meat and I also don't think you're stupid for being a vegan, you have every right to be.
