Somewhere far out in the Universe, in a system called Zeta Centauri, a group of scientists were searching all planets and asteroids for any alien species, alive or extinct. And they came across this one planet, not very big, on which there was a single giant, just sitting down. Tests conducted showed that it was some sort of living rock. However, this "living statue" never moved, nor spoke. After several months of researching this giant, one rather frustrated biologist, while working in the near vicinity of the creature, threw down his papers and tools, and said, "How can there possibly be a living creature with no purpose, not even to move?!" 

After which the giant stood up, appeared to be thinking for a few minutes, said "There can't," and sat back down.

"OF COURSE!!!" exclaimed the surprised biologist. "It only stands to reason!"
