Parkour guides discussion - what helps you learn parkour?

Many parkour clubs make parkour guides, and it seems like they are almost the only type of videos most parkour clubs produce.

I asked a few players that make parkour guides what is the purpose of these guides. Everyone said the same - to teach players parkour. A few players also said it is for fun. The reason I asked them about it is very simple - I don't think the parkour guides do what they're supposed to do so well. In most parkour guides I see a repetitive use of mine jumps and sometimes just a few different tricks without much variety.

Please tell me what do you think about parkour guides, what do you expect from them, what's good about them, what's bad, what would you suggest...

Also please tell me if it is easier to learn parkour using parkour guides or using the Parkour Dictionary. In the Parkour Dictionary you can find the name, description and video of each trick, while parkour guides show how to use combinations of a few tricks.

Although I haven't watched very many guides, I may be able to provide a bit of info.

I personally don't find parkour guides extremely helpful. Most guides just show the last movement made to get someone on a building. It would be more useful to see some of the prep work as well. Also, slow motion would be useful too, to see the exact moment of shots fired and mines hit. 

 

Also please tell me if it is easier to learn parkour using parkour guides or using the Parkour Dictionary. In the Parkour Dictionary you can find the name, description and video of each trick, while parkour guides show how to use combinations of a few tricks.

Again, I haven't watch very much of your Parkour Dictionary, but based on what you described, I would find it easier to learn parkour using the Parkour Dictionary instead of parkour guides.

What do I need the most to learn parkour? Someone in the battle with me, teaching me tricks and showing me how they work. Doing the parkour with me, in game. That's what I need, but I doubt there's any video that can do that, and I doubt there's anyone (outside my parkour club) who is going to take the the time to teach me some parkour.

True, that's the best way to learn tricks or basics of parkour. But unfortunately no one is willing to do that, because it normally takes a long time. I tried to educate some tankers about basics of parkour, but if you ask me, you have to be a parkour person in order to be good in it. For some, standing in an exact position in just normal, tho you gotta explain everything to other type of tankers, and in the end, they still don't do it correctly.

Parkour is simple we can gather member and try to do some Amazing Parkours ! But some Parkour we can do ourselves.

I think I gathered enough votes to call these results reliable :) Now if anyone is thinking how to improve his videos he may use this information, I'm gonna use it myself too. Unfortunately I don't have spectator mode yet :\
