Whether it dropped or not has nothing to do with whether it will drop in the next second or next hour.

 

It's super annoying to see people join, ask the question, then leave.

I dont really like the idea.... Who will read banners? Beggers certanly wont... Even I ask if a Gold was or Pls gold to get my fustration off...

 

BUT what should be done is to place a light in the corner of the screen, an orange light, wich appears when a gold box is dropping... This way players who joined at that moment could see that here is some Gold activity... And, under the light should be a timer, showing the 30seconds, BUT if the gold comes out of the ground, it would show 20 (cuz it comes much faster)... 

If there is no golden activity the light would disappear... I think this is a good idea...

Ok it's nice idea, and my mind about banners: 1st is better but Text should be that: Please note that nobody can drop the gold box, even moderators. They are dropped randomly.

More notifications for the Gold are not needed, the current notification is enough, and it already distracts players from the game as it is.....

 

This idea isn't about that anyway, it's about creating a loading banner to alert players that the Gold Box is automatic. ;)

I don't know man. Every time someone asks for a Gold Box in chat, a Gold Box usually drops in the next 5 minutes. Strange how that works.

Why not just block phrases such as please admin, gold box, bill... im tired of seeing this dumb garbage. I turn off my chat and next thing I know one of my friends are mad at me for ignoring them.

It wouldn't be very practical, since the Gold Box is completely random, and an extra tab showing all Golds dropped would be pointless....

 

Why not just block phrases such as please admin, gold box, bill... im tired of seeing this dumb garbage. I turn off my chat and next thing I know one of my friends are mad at me for ignoring them.

Blocking it won't do much good, and it makes the chat look like swearing even though it is a perfectly harmless statement.

You can block it yourself though....just type /block [playernamehere] ;)

They do add new ones, like the PRO battle Smoky/Wasp on the pile of scrap tanks. :D

A very good idea. I have played in 3 types of battles.

1. The enjoyable battle where the team plays and does what they need to. Using chat only for necessaries (were the enemies are and when they flip:D)
2. Gold pls. Admin shows up a little bit, but ignorable. A shut up or short explanation works.
3. The most annoying types of battles, and for me, the most rare. Were 1 person says that phrase, and the entire chat blows up with it. Eventually, somebody pretends to be an administrator and says that gold will be dropped soon. The problem with this is that they do not understand golds, they do not understand administrators, and they PRETEND to be administrators, and worst of all, they basically throw a ton of dry wood onto a roaring flame. I hate these battles. I do not report these people for pretending to be an administrator because A.) half of the people would be banned or B.) I do not believe that incompetence is a crime.

While we are on this subject, were in the world did people get the idea that devs. and admins. drop gold boxes?

The origins are unknown, but a common suggestion is they started as videos recorded in the test sever, where you can.

 

Then OUFA instigated it further with an even more phony video.

I suspect it has something to do with Godmode_ON....since that particular player drops 3 Gold Boxes every time a player kills him/her, and since Godmode_ON is rumored to be controlled by a Developer, people connect the two, and assume that Developers can drop Gold boxes.

 

As with any rumor, it grows, and grows, and grows....until players start thinking that Administrators can drop Golds on command, and then the list started to include any Moderator.

And now, anyone who hears this from a passing player assumes it is the "absolute" truth, and goes around doing the exact same thing hoping to get a free Gold box...never mind that they have a 1/8 chance (at best, it varies per battle) to catch it if it does actually fall.

And other players just do it for no good reason, like to troll, or just for the lols.
