Big problem or just crazy?

Hello people,

I have a question for all of you: Am I getting crazy or is this thing really a big problem?

It's not a very long time ago, that we reached about 7.000.000.000 people worldwide. And it's still growing. But also the gap between poot and rich is growing bigger and bigger. We're using all fossie fuel can find and we're producing huge amounts of (genetically modified) food to feed our growing poputation. But are these the real probleem?

We are destroying our planet, but that's something most people already knew. Like a lot of bugs van destroy our farms, we are destroying this planet. There's more and more people who want more and more of everything. What if we are the real problem? What if we are a plague, destroying everything we have?

My opinion: there's simply to many humans on this planet. But killing people is illigal so this problem could be hard to solve. Should there be a worldwide law to let every married couple have only one child? What do you think?

Greetings,

Your possibily crazy AbsoluteOmega

Family planning is becoming increasingly popular in developed and developing countries. In China, norms have been passed to promote one child per couple propaganda. The only solution to this problem is creating awareness amongst people about harms of having many children. Methods to avoid having more children should be promoted. In many countries, especially Asian and Middle East, talking about such things in open is a taboo and is looked down upon.

Superstition is also the cause of population explosion. Many people believe that a child is gift of God and hence every family produces many children. Also, many people want a son and if a son is not born to them, they have many daughters. Such superstitions should be addressed and people should be educated.

When there are too many of the same species they fight for food, land, etc. and many of them die. This is normal and is called natural selection. But the problem is that instead of fighting for food we make artificial food. Instead of fighting for a place to live we build cities on oceans and we turn deserts into green lands. New technologies help fighting against various diseases and this is why the population grows quickly.

Well, in your calculation the growth rate is constant.

No, the rate of growth of growth rate if population is constant.

death rate? did you count that also? health facilities is good nowadays so death rate is decreasing, resulting in a increase in population.

Damn! Already reached 7 trillion?

Oops. 'Billion' in English is something different than 'biljoen' in Dutch, however when you say both it's almost the same. Sometimes it's confusing... (I'm Dutch)

in most well developed countries and places, couples prefer to enjoy their lives theirs and no plan to have child,

so the population is decreasing in some countries,

well in less developed places, people need to have more child to be able to work to support the family,

in a poor family, having only one child is too risky, as all the hope of their future is bet on one child.

so they have like 5-6 children, hope one or two of them can eventually make into a better life.

so it is not as simple as 1 child or not.

also you need to count those farming based countries, people need to have more boys to do the heavy farming works,

so if they have only 1 girl as child, then how the family going to survive the farming season with only one man to be able to heavy works.

Even in china, the one child policy is not very strict in far village areas, where people rely heavily on farming or tree planting works, they need more child to grow up to help the labor work

it all depends on case by case situation.

well you opened a nest egg with this one

for one i`m a mom as most of you know who has three children

..now for them to go into to the world and not have children and same with others in time we would not have anyone to further this world and the population would be at zero then where would we  be who would take care of the planet?? ask that one..now if my children choose`s to have children of there own i hope they have enough money and resources to take good care of them and also take better care of the planet where our parents and there parents before them had no clue about the pollution or the damage  of things they used in the past would cause so  much harmful destruction to this planet..we are the next teachers to teach our children to respect and care for our planet ..not just recycle but to give back to the land for what it gave us ..for example trees and clean water , healthy soil with no chemicals poured back into it,,

The planet’s large, growing, and overconsuming human population, especially the increasing affluent component, is rapidly eroding many of the Earth’s natural ecosystems. However, society’s only real policy lever to reduce the human population humanely is to encourage lower per capita fertility. There are many ways to cut down a massive lump of the population, The solution will be coming around the next corner, More likely to end to half the population, its World war III. It seems these days the world is literally on fire. Conflict continues on and off in Ukraine, there are tensions throughout the Asia-Pacific, Ebola is on the rampage, ISIS continues its bloody war of attrition throughout Syria, into Iraq and on and on. Yet, could something even worse be on the horizon—a conflict with more-severe global ramifications?

World war III could start any where in the world, Nearly every country have lost territory to neighbouring country's through out the world.

Well, ww2 lead to the death of 60Mil people which I honestly think wasn't much of a dent to the total pop(2Bil) of that time. I believe ww3 wouldn't cause much of a difference(population wise).
