Forum Positions

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

As everyone else in Tankionline I love this game, and would like to make it fair and equal, so that we can all enjoy this MMO in the best way possible. I purpose that a player is limited to only one given forum position at a time, unless they are administrators. I feel that there are many of the same players with any jobs around the forum. Let's give everyone a chance to establish themselves on the forum.

Feel free to up vote ^_^!

Thanks!

I have mixed feelings about this. Yes, even though it does seem that the same old players are getting all the job, you have to realize that the reason behind it is because the administrators feel that these players are qualified to do the job. They shoot for quality, and if these players can prove that, why deny them? Plus, some of them tend to have experience behind the line of duty and thus could probably do a much better job at the start than someone who is starting new.

Don't fret about having to establish yourself and everything on the forum. Just be a regular user and show maturity, good intentions, and knowledge of the game itself.

If you are thinking of joining the staff, consider the chat moderator position. The chat is so under-staffed and this game only grows bigger by the day. I'm sure you could do a great job to help the progress of this game ;)

Staff positions exist because there is a job that needs to be done. Players are appointed into positions to accomplish tasks in the most efficient way possible. Nothing is stopping regular players from getting staff jobs. If you have what it takes to join the staff, there is nothing stopping you. Administrators may have a slight bias towards members that are already part of the staff, but only because they have proven themselves competent enough to be in one staff position. This bias only makes sense. Also, it is no coincidence that many staff members hold multiple positions. They are quality, competent members that are capable of taking multiple positions.

It is actually unfair to prevent already staff members from taking part in another position. These players obviously want to devote a portion of their life to the game, and why stop them?

Summing things up.. Staff Positions aren't given out to reward players or anything like that. These positions are necessary to keep the game running smoothly. The administrators pick the highest quality candidates who they think will help the game, and there is no reason to interfere with this.

Thanks for the input, its not as if I don't feel as they are not experienced, rather I feel like there should be more vacancies, so that some other people can also try out these staff positions

I respect your view on how, the players are experienced to hold these positions, although I wish to see more and more new people rotating around on the forum management and all other areas of staff a little more often.

Thanks for your input nonetheless I value every and all opinions!  :D

No my intentions are to make more players experience new positions as helpers of TankiOnline if they want to that is, I feel too many of the same people possess multiple jobs around the game, hindering the chances of other players to apply for the positions as they are probably overwhelmed by the amount of people already in administration. Leading to not applying for a position at all.

As it has already been said by others, if a person can do more than 1 job with the same quality, then there's no reason to disallow that, actually it's a good thing.

Let's give everyone a chance to establish themselves on the forum.

This chance is already present, anyone is able to apply for a staff member, and this has nothing to do with the amount of staff members that we already have :)

Vacancies? I see your point, you're saying to forbid staff members to take new jobs, so there can be space for other players, as vacancies are limited. However, vacancies are unlimited, staff applications (except for reporters) are always open, i.e. it doesn't matter how many members a staff group has, new ones can always be taken.

so that some other people can also try out these staff positions

I'm sorry, but staff is not something you "try out", it's a serious thing requiring much responsibility, and not everyone is able to do that. Just like in real life, for example the police, new police officers are taken to keep the order, not to simply "try out" the job, shoot some bullets and play with the siren.

Getting new faces in staff depends only on how many players meeting the requirements exist, and how many of them are actually willing to devote their time to Tanki :)

As I already said above, it doesn't matter how many people in staff we have already, we can always get new ones, anyone is free to apply ;)
