Reworking of maps

Some maps need to be reworked. Maps such as Massacre, and Monte Carlo.

Monte Carlo:

This map is just a mistake. Yes it was made to be difficult but its just a very annoying map. What sense is it to make a map narrow, without any barricades protecting you from falling. This map is popular for CTF. However the stupid thing about it is that has so many clear angles for long range weapons, including Thunder. Heres another thing that makes it unfair. The only hull that can jump over the ramps to reach across to the other side, is Wasp M2. Wasp M2 became popular around the rank of . However it is unlocked at . Tanki has not yet learned their lesson from allowing players to unlock equipment to early. Its the same thing really, before it was just the hulls unlocked to early. Now its the same thing, without the paints. Another serious thing is that the flags are placed right at the edge of each team. I still do not understand what accomplishment tanki has made from something like that. People camp on the ramps, mine it and push opponents off the map. The only way to clear them besides long ranges, which means you will have to take them out one by one, is by short range weapons.This is where strategy comes into play. However you cant go far without a shaft or railgun flipping or damaging you. Also to acquire the flag you need light hulls, and with light hulls comes faster speeds. There arent any barricades to stop them.

Massacre:

This map is uneven. Hulls flip at random because of bumps you cannot see in the map.

Monte Carlo was initially designed as a racing map to make fun races with friends. However, it became popular for battles so the developers added it onto the main servers. It is very unique and requires careful strategy to win, unlike most other maps where the even the most basic gameplay tactic, such as attacking the enemy base over and over again, will eventually yield results.

  1. Monte Carlo is made specifically for long range guns, so if you're a fan of Twins, Firebird, Rico and other limited range guns - simply don't go there if you don't like challenges.
  2. Not only light hulls can jump that gap. With nitro even a Viking M3 is able to jump across, so it's not exactly unfair. Gameplay is designed to work around the M4 modification, therefore there is no need to change anything here.
  3. Ramp camping and mining is a valid strategy that is crucial for that map. If you keep getting blown up as you try to hump across then you need to think of a better strategy. Come from the other side and kill the miner or try to somehow trick the other team with your actions.


 

I will somewhat agree with you about Massacre, however the limited possibilities of the map making software that the developers have means that the hills can't be as smooth as we would like them to be, so we'll just have to wait for the Unity version.

Wasp M2 doesnt require nitro though. Its valid for ramp camping, but there isnt a way to save a player from being pushed. IF they do survive they sideline, meaning they land upside down. 

 

The old massacre didnt have this problem, it was smooth and it was designed well.

So if there were no way for players to fall off, where does skill come to play when driving at full speed??

This is where you and your know it all powers are low. What point would i be making if there wasnt a way to fall off. They should at least move the flags more to the the triangular bridge. or on it.

 

Massacre's unevenness is it's signature though....

The name "Massacre" is supposed to refer to a lot of death or riots, not people flipping at random.

both maps are popular upto some extent & i dont see any fault in either one of the maps but masscare is a flippy

monte carlo on the other hand is a map for rails & shafts & i enjoy playing in it with my alt acc

Hhhh. I get that, but whats the point of camping the whole time?

These maps are unique and it provides diversity, that is why they are hard.

Guess what else is unique?

u will only need to camp if you're using shaft but with rail u could fliup enemies who are trying to get to your flag by jumping through the ramp or just killing everyone who camps 

i prefer to use viking as shaft could not destroy me in 1 shot

Why is that? The map would become too boring, because campers would make offense way too hard. The balance is good as it is, because you can easily jump over and pump some napalm into the Shaft campers before running out again. Then again, the campers can lay mines to combat this. And to combat that, the attackers use different routes or they try to kill them from long-range. This build-up of game-play styles is what makes maps so unique and fun to play. (and by the way, no one is forcing you to play on Monte Carlo :))

"Massacre" means "an indiscriminate and brutal slaughter of people." Meaning that if you flip, you are brutally slaughtered. :P (depending on how nice the other team is, however. :D)

 

Just know where those bumps and map glitches are, memorize them, and make sure not to hit them. :)
