Mouse controls and changes in auto-aim mechanism

You keep tweaking the aiming feature to where you have to TRY to  miss.  This was bad enough when you got rid of the 'drift' for Shaft where anyone can use it.  Before, it actually took some skill.

Dumbing the game down only makes it fun for dumb players, and they won't stick around very long because they will get bored, assuming they can focus upon anything for more than 10 minutes anyway.

A game should be a challenge, not merely a means to spend money and waste time, which does not equate to 'fun' in my book.  But what do I know, I'm an old man...

Autoaim: acutally it would be cool if all those easy stuff is active for lower ranks.. and it gets gradualy harder for higher ranks.

Sorry didn't actually understand, is this "AutoAim" function update stopping me from doing opposite backwards movements?

The mouse control is a problem. I use an iMAC. Worked fine until I pressed the mouse control. My fault - I did not read the entire article which also stated that the controls are not ready for Chrome and safari, both which I use. However, a problem occuered when I turned the mouse control back to "off". The aiming mechanism in the shaft I use went sideways, to the left top corner of the screen. Other users I asked about this had the same complaint. Some just decided not to use the shaft any more. I eventually found a resolution - I downloaded the Firefox browser. Now the shaft works as new. Opera also solved the problem of aiming but, there is a problem with the other controls. So, anyway problem solved, unfortunately NOT thanks to the admin team of Tanki. New here is my major complaint. I got into one of the arenas to chat with an admin there. I explained my problem. HEADMASTERO told me to simply turn the mouse key off. After I explained that I had done so, he rudely suggested that my problem is becasue I have a terrible computer and that I should "trash it". Not only was this unhelpful and very inpolite, but also not true. This is not the way to treat a player. I was seeking help and in return got disregarded by this particular Admin. My expectation is that he/she will be at least told off that this is not the standard Tanki is aspiring to. I would like to recieve a wirtten statement in response to this message. I hope  that Tanki agrees that the solution to the problem with the aiming system should have first come from the Admin, not form me. My e-mail: peter_moisthero@yahoo.com.

I have the same problem with Shaft. :) Using Chrome. :)

The only players I may expect to use these controls are those whose keyboards won't allow them to move/turn and shoot at the same time. You said that "there should be no advantages/disadvantages for using one control over the other", and yet mouse controls have a huge disadvantage over keyboard controls:

1- You can barely turn your turret 90º degrees, imagine those cases where you have to turn 180º or the enemy is circling you

2- The camera tries to follow the invisible mouse, instead of focusing to where your turret is pointing

I don't like this update at all

I use a shaft

My turret is spinning without my control.

As soon as I enter the game, my turret starts spinning.

After I've been killed and spawn, my turret starts spinning

In both cases, I need to turn the turret the other way and get it under control before I can engage the scope and take aim at someone.  In the time it takes to do this, I am getting hit by my opponents.

Also, the scope starts tracking upwards without my control.

again, I have to track the scope downwards to get it under control,

wasting more time, not being able to target an opponent.

Please remove this update.

I can't find the mouse control button in the settings. It's not where it was when I played on the test server recently (a week ago).

Doesn't work on chrome.

it's not working. my shaft can't aim now. i don't know where it is going to shoot to. the aim circle is now always on left side, even when i disabled the mouse control function in setting, it still affects my aiming and shooting.

i have it disabled.. also not in full screen... and it is causing problems with scope mode on shaft... not just me others were having issues as well... aim goes down or up for no reason... also fireing automaticly... or stopping firing on vulcan...

please remove untill you get it right... and here is an idea... don't deploy updates like this untill you know for sure it works...

or an even better idea... just STOP with the moronic updates!!! and take the damn lazer off the shaft. you can't "sniper" with a snitch beacon on your gun... think things through... you guys are acting like a bunch of adolesent pot smokers...

Like I said previously, the aiming issues will resolve themselves once

you enter full-screen mode, but the aim will still go UP or DOWN on

the Shaft when you enter aiming mode. Anything other than full-screen

seems to be scrambled because of the mouse controls.

I'm playing on Chrome btw...

Personally I think mouse controls just screwed everything up, and I'm

not saying that just because I got used to the keyboard. Maybe giving

it a trial run was a decent idea, but probably the best solution to this

problem would be to go back to the original scheme and forget this

happened.

There is an ancient saying... goes something like this:

"Don't fix something if it isn't broken in the first place!"

Tanki screwed up most of the weapons now, and the funny thing is :

  • Ideas regarding changes to the actual Tanki Online to its previous versions, or ideas regarding the removal of updates are not accepted.

Not a big fan of the mouse controls. They seem to be quite buggy, so I think I'll stick to keyboard for now.

Something to remember: the mouse controls are optional, and they're disabled by default. If it's glitching out for you or you dislike it, you can go straight back to using the good ol' keyboard controls.

That hasn't always been the case. Remember when they first pushed out the system that ends battles earlier and it didn't work well at all? They removed it from the game for tweaking. If this update pans out badly, there's a possibility that they might pull it back to fix the issues.

only problem, i have a trackpad for a mac desktop, so i can't try the mouse controls

There is one even bigger problem than that... I'm running multiple browsers,

and currently ONLY Mozilla Firefox allows the mouse controls option, on

Google Chrome, Opera and even Internet Explorer the Mouse Controls

option isn't available... no it isn't grayed out... IT DOESN'T EXIST in

the options meny...

EDIT UPDATE, avoiding multi-posting...

Like I just said, on ANY other browser than Mozilla the option doesn't seem

to exist, so we can't try it elsewhere even if we wanted to... and even as a

non-existant option it STILL causes the problems listed above...

PPS EDIT:

Also, regarding non-compatible keyboard commands, I strongly advise

anyone who maneveurs their tank backwards a lot to avoid using the DOWN

arrow, because there is one particular button combination that universally

doesn't work:

Down arrow + Left arrow + Any other button

In most games, especially driving games, this combination causes the

computer to beep and to "refuse" register the aditional third keypress,

and if that keypress is hit before the Left arrow, the computer will refuse

to register the Left arrow. Personal recommendation, use WASD to move

and <> and SPACE to use the turret...
