my shaft m3 is useless now because it turns itself down up and sideways. Thanks for making my shaft out of control

Yes. And not just Shaft: other players with other turrets find themselves spinning for no reason. When will these bugs finally be fixed?

i am playing a game right now and shaft contorls are very sluggish and seem to freeze again......

Yeah, mine are VERY sluggish and if I press rotate and then go to sniping mode, the spin continues and cannot be stopped at all.

Oddly enough, the much ballyhooed "turret rotation speedup" that "nitro" is supposed to provide has been rendered almost completely worthless by the latest update. This means less nitro is being used even than before.

Full rotation base M3 shaft : 17 seconds (21 degree/sec)

Full rotation with speedup : 16 seconds (22 degree/sec)

This is MUCH LESS than the original specs, or the faster update. By contrast, the turning speed is 72 degrees per second (less than the stated 90).

Today we have released an update including several bug fixes for mouse controls, including the Shaft issue. Enter the game, check it out and get back to this thread to tell me if it works ok or not. Thanks!

But there are still problems
Who uses USB keyboard experience crashes and spins out of control.

Well, the spinning has just cost me two battle wins in Monte Carlo. Looks like I'll be gone for a week after all, until they can fix ALL the bugs they managed to introduce into Shaft.

Improved but there are still problems

Who would NOT use a USB keyboard?  Do you think PS/2 keyboards are the norm?  lol

Do you think keyboards ??? I think that's why laughs.
I need to buy !!!
And I have no connector PS / 2
When I "find" a new laptop I'll change my keyboard.

I tried to play, but still, this is impossible.
Before it was the tower that turned out of control
Now is the entire tank spinning out of control
and hangs loaded the shot (this happened even before the update but it made things worse).

I don't use a USB keyboard because I have a laptop. USB keyboard have thicker keys which actually takes longer to push which means your reactions will be slower. So I don't use USB ones :)

I use chrome and my shaft works just fine... i admit it is annoying that i had to download firefox to try out mouse controls but other than that it is fine to me.

Before you continue on that refund thing...if tanki thinks that players were temporally disadvantaged for something on there part they would compensate but they would never refund...and example of this is last year near the end of summer when tanki offered a 70% discount on firebird for one hour and the discount didn't appear in some garages. Tanki saw that this happened and the sale was extended for 1 whole day to make it right.

Just because the devs aren't here saying "Sorry! Sorry! it will never happen again, please forgive us!" doesn't mean that they are ignoring the bugs.I fact that should be a good thing... it shows that they are trying to fix it.

It is impossible for the devs to fix an update that took months to make in 1 week if you take into consideration the following:

  1. The time it would take to spot the problem with not only the shaft miss firing but to make it playable on most browsers
  2. The time to fix the problem
  3. The fact that most of tanki's devs are working hard on re-writing tanki onto the unity platform for better performance
  4. Fixing the new problem that the E-Sports server is facing in order to play the remaining matches.

to those who say that the devs should take update out... you don't know if it is as simple as that. It may be even harder to take the update out that to just fix it

If you still think that devs are just sitting in an office all day playing cards that is your opinion.

Look, I don't think the Devs are doing nothing. Obviously you are one of them. That's OK. The problem is communication. Silence is the worst action. The point everyone was making is that first you try and test thoroughly, and only then you put to the customer. Obviously that was not don't hard enough.

Happy to know you think of me as a dev xD but i'm not. I just see that they are trying their best to fix the problem and all everyone is doing to getting angry at them which isn't helping a bit

I concurr. When you enter scope mode directional controls do not work for a moment. Therefore it's impossible to suprise a shaft that is already aiming (unless he is blind). That very fraction of a second delay before directional controls kick in gets you killed every time whereas it was quite easy to do before.

Same for me there. I use Chrome on Windows 7 64 bits.

At the moment the bug seems fixed. I have played on Fire fox and none of the previous problems accured - off target, turret spinning. I will aknowledge full when in fact no problems accour in the longer run.

No it isn't...lots of other games which are developed in America control the turrent via the mouse.

Ok ok ok... slow down t

It had to take a week of outrage for this to be fixed...

here for a sec... where did the refund part come from...no one paid for the mouse controls xD

And what do you think is the reason for making this topic....let me answer that for you.

As you guys say there are lots of bugs than need fixing but shouting at the devs about the same thing over and over not going to make the update come more quickly :/

For shafts: So the simple solution is just don't use mouse controls if it's not working for you.

Cool, the "aim moving by itself" shaft bug has been fixed :)

But I noted another issues when using shaft with keyboard controls (I disabled mouse controls from options):

1. When entering scope mode, cross hair cannot be controlled until zoom in animation has ended.

This has been reported also by other players as "sluggish controls".

Steps to reproduce:

1. Press space to enter scope mode.

2. Quickly press right arrow, before zoom in animation ends.

Expected outcome: Cross hair starts immediately to move to right.

Actual outcome: Cross hair starts to move only after zoom in animation ended.

2. Diagonal cross hair movements are not possible right after entering scope mode.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Press space to enter scope mode.

2. Quickly press up arrow and right arrow, before zoom in animation ends.

Expected outcome: Cross hair starts immediately to move in diagonal up-right direction.

Actual outcome: Cross hair starts to move (after zoom in animation ended) either up or right, but not in diagonal.

Note that this is not a keyboard controller issue, that can be verified pressing up and right arrows at the same time after zoom in animation ended, which results in correct diagonal aim movement as expected.

3. Turret rotation "stuck" just after firing.

1. Press space to enter scope mode, and wait to full charge.

2. Release space to fire.

3. Very (very) quickly press "Z" and down arrow, before zoom out animation ends.

Expected outcome: Tank start moving backwards, while rotating turret to the left.

Actual outcome: Tank start moving backwards, but turret does not rotate.

---

Problems arise when scope mode does not recognize keys pressed before zoom in animation, or when main game does not recognize keys pressed inside scope mode. But in fast paced battles, having to wait for the right moment to press control keys is really annoying... It would be nice if both game and scope acted based on actual state of keys, ignoring the timing or order of each key press.

as far as i know, you dont even play with shaft as your main weapon...

and trust me it is not your moral duty to reply to every negative post regarding the faulty updates unless you have some ulterior motives....

and also stop bullying them...

These guys here play with shaft as their main usually and they have every right to say whatever they want to if they are not happy.. afterall this is the forum.....

as for the devs.. this is going in to week 2... and the issue should have been resolved mid week.... but just to cheer you guys up and so that you dont feel down..... APPLAUSE.....

Laptop keys (1/4 to zero travel) can actually be 2 msec slower than a tactile-response keyboard if you have to hold them down (as I often do).

Besides, your reaction time is much slower than that...

However, I grant that the WASD keys might be easier to use than the smaller buttons found on some HP keyboards (not sure why they need such a huge DELETE button -- that could be a problem because of the self destruct).

I think we have to just [close?] our mouths and let the devs to do the work

Why? Are they paying us??

If no one had complained, nothing would have been done. The only way to express our continued unhappiness with the update is to reinforce that efforts to fix them are SLOW and INCOMPLETE. Are we kicking them in the shin and distracting them? No.

Yay, the shaft bug is fixed.

One of them. :(  Have you tried shooting while spinning? Fortunately there *is* a way out : go to sniping mode and then traverse in the same direction as the spin... this unlocks the turn command. Unfortunately, while you are doing this, you will likely be shot and lose the battle.

Shaft controls in keyboard are still a bit sticky to use, but good job making it usable again.

Devs get no credit for getting it right *the second time* --

Usable but much worse than before the update, when I was just ripping along to 4 star.

I thought you said it was working fine for you the whole time?

Guys what are you doing there?! :( It is from 10 to 5. When aiming moved itselfs, it was easy to fix it with controls, but now I can't be fast in aiming, because if I'll ride from behind wall, I am rotating turret, pressing space to aim, and it stops. WHY?! I thought it should still move. It was one of things what I liked on shaft, fast aim, shot, hide behind wall, check if someone aims to me, and again. I can't do it very well now, I am always getting shot, damage. It's bad, skilled snipers are usefull now. It was better with problem with aiming. It was, it is sad but it really was :/
