Mouse controls and changes in auto-aim mechanism

The reason for those barriers on the maps was to prevent a team to hide a flag at an unreachable position.

Unfortunately they killed sniper positions. On serpuchov I had a classic attack route with freeze, which is now also blcoked.

What do you mean unreachable? That was a lame excuse for them to use. If the enemy could put it there then you can retrieve it as well, or simply shoot the flag holder and it will return in a minute. If a shaft player could get to these spots, then it is not unreachable, is it?

Okay, now someone has been tweaking things for sure with Isida:

at Rio, we had a green Isida beam going 40 meters through buildings!

Is someone trying to make it less likely to change targets? Because this was ridiculous.

Video:

Look at some of the Isida beams here! (0:00 and 2:10) -- very colorful but still a serious glitch.

I had to play for both teams to get this to show.

That glitch has been around for over a year, so apparently it most be lag or they would have fixed it. Right?

I thought the same until yesterday.. although I saw no advantage. If a sniper was up there.. I simply sniped him with my rail.

Yesterday I was in a battle with some generalissimos.. we where in lead, the other team left.. and some really skilled guys came in.

They took one flag after the other.. and we where about to loose this game.

Then, one of our guys took their flag and dropped it in a pit far away from their respawn area.

So then we all 4 (whole team) could co to retrieve our own flag and defend our base as well as the pit.

It was obviously a measure to wait until the battle ends, and at the same time stealing your opponents opportunity to cap more flags.

I saw something like that the first time. But maybe it is common in higher ranks. Imagine if those guy pushed self destruct and would drive into the pit some seconds later. Pickes up the flag, destructes, again the flag timer starts. In the ranks I played up to now it was never an issue.. but maybe in higher ranks it is.

@Rohrmeister

I had a similar situation about a week ago, I can't remember the name of the map

since I only tried it out once. The score was 2-0 for our team, and then one of our

teammates decided to take the enemy flag and jump into a tight crack in the floor,

then refused to self destruct. The funny thing is that nobody from the enemy team

managed to land a shot on him, even when they jumped into the hole after him, so

he remained there practicly unharmed, and since the hole was out of the way from

the regular routes between flags, more than half of the players on the map failed to

notice this. Since he never moved or said or fired on anything, I assumed it was

just someone's multi, so I stuck around draining enemies until the round ended,

feeling asured that we will win the round no matter how hard the enemy team tried,

and that's exactly what happened.

On topic, regarding mouse control:

Fine, whatever, if the developers already decided on our behalf that mouse controls

are better for the game, there is nothing we can do about it other than accept he fact,

or leave. But if you are going to provide us with the option NOT TO USE MOUSE

CONTROLS, at least make sure that the keyboard controls are working properly,

as they did before this update came along...

Hello tankers!

Today, Tanki has received yet another feature for you to play with — the mouse control option!

You can use your mouse for camera control, aiming and shooting. Mouse controls can be enabled by using the respective option in the game settings page.

You will then need to enter fullscreen mode. To do so, simple left-click anywhere inside the game area (not the interface) during a battle. You can also use the dedicated fullscreen button in the upper menu.

To make the cursor appear while using mouse controls, press and hold the TAB key.

We have also added the ability to control your camera without rotating the turret. This is a welcome change for fans of turrets that have a slow rotation speed. Holding the right mouse button allows you to look around without rotating your turret.

You can switch between keyboard-only and mouse controls at any moment. To do that, use the turret rotation keys or the left mouse button respectively.

The mouse is an alternative control option aimed at those who are just starting out with Tanki, or existing players who would like to try out something new. It’s an additional feature. It can be easily disabled in the settings to prevent any accidental clicks.

What you see in the game is not the final version of the feature. It will be improved further, to make it more stable and easier to use. Also, due to restrictions outside our control, this feature is currently not supported by Chrome and Safari browsers. If you would like to try out mouse controls and your browser prevents you from doing so, please install Firefox or Opera.

By the way, we have also made some changes to the auto-aim mechanism:

  • Isida now aims not at the center of an enemy tank, but at the closest point of it.
  • Turrets now better aim for small visible parts of enemy tanks at long distances.
  • Auto-aim mechanism has been optimized, which can lead to performance improvements in some cases.

That’s all for now. Time for you to try out mouse controls! Make sure you share your thoughts about this new feature in comments below. Your feedback will help us polish it to perfection.

Good luck on the battlefield, tankers!

I dont see the respective option in the settings
