You're playing a battle in Silence CTF, teams are very uneven. Battle is about to end and you will leave after the fund is given out, causing the battle to be empty and removed from server list.

 

So why not have a system that scrambles each team after the round ends? It would increase the life span of a battle's existence, which makes for more battles to choose from in smaller servers.

 

Here is how it would work.

 

Example

You're in a Silence CTF, Flag limit is 10. Your team wins by 10-3 over enemy team.

Here is what the leader board would look like.

(Keeping teams to 4 on 4 to simplify)

After this battle ends this is what the scrambled teams should look like with points taken into account.

Note that teams have switched sides as in the game.

Red 1 switched teams as normal for next round.

Blue 2 even though he was 2nd on his team last round had a better kill/death rating than Blue 1.

Blue 1 had 12 more deaths than kills, meaning he would spend more time respawning than helping his team by knocking out enemy tanks.

Red 2 Scored 2 flags and had a more kills than deaths. He also had scored 2 flags, more than Blue 2, which would make his distribution points* higher than Blue 2.

Blue 3 Had the same amount of flags as red 3 and more kills, but 2 more deaths. Since the 2 players had such close scores (points) during the battle Red 3 performed better, was alive more often.

Red 3 Had close points to Blue 3, but less deaths. 

Red 4 Had 1 more death than Blue 4, but more points and kills make him a more valuable player.

Blue 4 Had less points than Red 4, but 1 less death. Not a big enough difference to make him more valuable than Red 4.

 

*Distribution points Will work like this:                                                                                                    (Note that this is an early version and the system may be refined at a later date)

 

The base Distribution points will be taken from each player's score during that round. Every death will remove 15 points*, Every kill will add 10 points. Each flag** will add 150 points.

The overall points will be calculated during the time after the battle ends (A timer like during the server restart will say "Teams being rebalanced"). If a player has been in the battle for less than 2 minutes the system will skip him.

 

* If player has score of 0 the Distribution points will go negative.

** Due to players dropping flag for another player this may be substituted for time holding flag and a whole new points system for that, but players may mult by holding the flag longer (This may be fixed by not disclosing how the system works).

 

The function for scrambling teams every round could be turned on with PRO battles, so it is not mandatory.

 

Auto scramble during battle

There may also be a function for this to happen during a battle. It would normally be triggered when the early battle end countdown normally starts. It would have a voting interface pop up on the side of the screen and players will vote by mouse click, or pressing a keyboard button (Y/N)

Such a system is present in the popular game "Team Fortress 2" and may also work in this game. The only problem would be that players may lose a part of their battle fund.

 

This system may be edited as it is a rough idea. Hope this gets the game somewhere!

I think one reason why this idea may not work out is because even after a hard battle, most people, even on the winning side, just want to leave and get out of it. You get tired after a hard-fought battle.

The problem that people lose some battle fund is quite a problem. Crystal boxes no longer drop but get added to the fund which is therefore growing quicker. Also, people may want to play with friends and having auto scramble, this would stop them doing so.

I said it is an option for PRO battles.

 

 

I think one reason why this idea may not work out is because even after a hard battle, most people, even on the winning side, just want to leave and get out of it. You get tired after a hard-fought battle.

So the teams join and leave as usual, not a problem.

Players will know as it is only possible for PRO battles (in my vision). So they are aware this could happen.

True, but a lot of battles now (atleast in my rank) end with a score of 15-0 in a 15 min match... Every time there is a battle which is actually evenly matched, I stay in it because it is quite rare. I dunno but it seems like an ok idea but it has some flaws to it too as you said :/

Flaws can always be worked out, like I said, this is still a rough idea.

Unless you can prove a topic (not archived) of this level has been created on this very subject there is no evidence.

 

You might also be feeling this as I have played a few different games where a similar system was/is in place.

But hey,I'm not saying it's a bad idea,just being "forced to do something" is never good,what if the system would suggest you to join the other team,and there would be an option to join without losing score if the system allows you to,just to even the teams out? xD

Hmm.... How about instead of just transferring the score, you transfer the crystals too? Cos if I had 400 pts and my team is winning 15-0, 400 pts on the winning team will be way different than that if you were on the loosing team... Maybe it is like the game gives the allocated crystals but only to the person switching teams?

Well.... I haven't played team fortress 2 but if I am understanding correctly is that this might happen DURING the battle

What about if you play with 3 or 4 friends? Its not as much fun if you are versing them, then it is playing with them on your team.

 

Otherwise good idea, the friend idea just needs to be worked around.

It should be in pro. An option for battle scrambler and if you do not want, turn it off
