Hello tankers! With the recent update that brought us Mouse Controls also brought some nasty bugs. The most frequent, and the most frustrating of these is the Shaft bug:

nbucdt.png

As you can see from the picture, the Shaft scope is off-center to the upper left, and it stays that way even though your pointer is in the middle of the screen. You move it around, but it still follows what it thinks is your mouse, and it is very difficult to hit anything. -_-

The solution is as follows:

Note the difference? The screen is at the maximum size (changeable with the - and + keys) and the Shaft Scope is perfectly on-center. So when you play with Shaft, make sure to have your screen at the maximum size.

I do know that some of you use a smaller screen to reduce lag, but until the Developers fix the bug, enabling use of a smaller size window, this will be your best solution. :)

(NOTE: If you don't use Shaft, you can still use a smaller size window.)

Thank you for reading, and I hope this helps! See you on the battlefield! ^_^

Is this about mouse controls ?

Most people have problems with keyboard controls.....i am sure you are aware of this issue.....?

turret and scope moving on its own......!! or not moving at all...?

your solution is not solution.....

I am already looking at different tank games......

if this issue happens with Shaft...it may happen with any other turret!!!

that is irresponsible.

Sir, this is to address the problem of Shaft in Mouse Mode. I am not trying to help solve any other glitch or bug, just this one. As for other Turrets, they are not the problem, nor do they have issues in Mouse Mode that I have noticed. The topic title is pointing to a solution for the Shaft Bug only.

If you want to play different tank games, that is your decision.

im sorry but the full screen causes lag to my computer thats why i play with short screen so yeah its still a problem

It's only a problem if you can't play with a full window, and I hope that turning off all the graphics settings will help you. Or you could use a different Turret. ;)

I tried using Shaft with mouse controls but I never faced any such problem. Maybe it is to some tankers as I did see a few topics about the problem on the forum. Well, I guess this would be useful to those having the problem. :)

Please edit a title. This is not a solution. Camera view reduction feature was there for a reason and now you're suggesting to stop using it. So this kind of "solution" introduces another problem.

Agreed.

This is not a solution. I have an older laptop and using a smaller view helps the game run smoothly.

Shaft Problems:

- Aim off centre (up and left) using ANY amount of screen size reduction.

- Checking scores with TAB whilst zoomed in now fires the shaft.

- Random turret spinning both after spawning and at any point in the game.

I agree this topic title is misleading. Yes the off centre aim is resolved by using maximum screen size, but the feature to reduce screen size existed for a reason.

None of the other problems are resolved by using maximum screen size.

Not sure if this is on topic or not - please redirect me if this is off topic.

I have a shaft bug which appeared about the same time as I turned on and then turned off mouse controls (coincidence or not, I don't know.)

The nature of the bug is that when I zoom the shaft in on a target the turret drops downwards and I cannot regain control of it until it has reached the bottom.

Am I the first to report this?  Is there a solution in play or in testing?

Many thanks

ps - excellent game btw

Should be an easy fix for the programmers. They just didn't take the smaller view into consideration for locating the mouse location. It needs to be confined to within the playable area and not the whole screen.

When you can't minimize TankiOnline to reduce lagg, but you still want to play with shaft, just keep the TO big and reduce your browser size,it will help too xD

I have been having problems with the shaft. It is moving on its own while I'm driving and trying to kill someone. Can you help me?

with key control turn your turret first in the direction of the movement then in the opposite direction ... then the moving should have stopped ... helped for me

I use Shaft sometimes, but I use Chrome so I don't use mouse controls. Even with keyboard controls the crosshairs for shaft are at the top left of the screen. Also, while in sniping mode it moves on its own and will not move the other direction. I paid a lot of crystals for Shaft, (well, for a Warrant Officer 4 it seems like alot) and I like using it. But this bug is just really upsetting.

EDIT: I tried doing the maximum screen size thing and it worked! I usually don't use maximum screen size because of the lag, but for a little lag I guess it's worth it!

Thank you for bringing up this issue. I've spent a lot of money developing shaft, just to see it worthless. Come on guys, aren't you getting paid for this?

This is absolutely ridiculous. Having Shaft start turning at random makes it incredibly frustrating to try to play this game. Thanks for all of the "expertise".

Does anybody realize that the shaft bug is still NOT fixed???? How can you play if every time you fire the turret spins, or aims to the sky? How many crystals have I thrown away because every time I power up, I am killed because my tank is spinning worthlessly?????

How many crystals are you guys planning on replenishing for this ridiculous bug? Have you thought about using computer engineers, and not just volunteer high schoolers?

This is absolutely unprofessional. You can take my money, but you can't provide the intended product?????????????? I bet the banking software has no bugs in it, just the product. You guys should be really proud.

Dear all..

I am using Firefox with the latest flash player on .. and I have the Shaft bug myself ..

When using full screen mode you proposed, I can aim properly for a shot or two , and then the shaft is rotating continuously 360 degrees ,

and quite fast I would say ..  ( let us forget the lag issues involved after entering full screen size ..)

I do understand that this was an "unpredicted" side effect of the latest upgrade for the mouse controls ..

I still wonder though why it was not picked up during your in house tests, prior to going live ..

which is something you should consider for your test scenarios next time, so as to optimize this process ..

In any case , I believe it is a matter of time, before your developers find out and solve for good the issue that arose ..

But until this is achieved , the matter is what is your company policy on that ..

Since it has been discovered, and as you see from those who voted that 80% is unhappy ..

Why don't you "Roll Back" your upgrade till this matter is solved for good ?

There are people who prefer to use shaft as their favorite weapon, and they have "invested" some money buying crystals

to reach to a point and enjoy the game ..

And they should receive the same gaming quality experience using shaft , like everybody else ..

Besides, the mouse control option has been announced quite some time.. ( correct me if I am wrong ..)

and we waited all this time , till it got implemented nowadays  ..

A week's delay or two , till you get all the related issues & bugs discovered  & settled down would not make any difference ...

I would expect a company of your size to act "faster" on such matters,

safe-guarding and ensuring the smooth operation of the "product" , rather than "delaying" & creating "unsatisfied customers" ..

Kindly roll back your latest upgrade till you manage to get it working properly ..

Apart from that ( and the annoying "fatal errors" kicking out almost half the players ) , it is indeed a great game

Thanks is advance
