'Potential Cut'

Potential Cut

 

 I would like to introduce this idea of a potential cut. First, let me explain the background. When in battle, however long or short, ctf or cp, there is always the battle fund box in the lower right along with the score. 

 

 However, when seeing the battle fund many players are surprised when it is high, or dismayed when its low and many players want to know how much they will ACTUALLY receive from the battle. It is hard to know from the battle fund and your score how much crystals you will get at the end, and it would be much more useful and motivational if next to the battle fund there was a box which said 'potential cut'.

 

 This would be the amount of crystals that you would be projected to get at the end of the battle. So, if the fund was 10,000 and you were 2nd on the winning team with a score of 697, it would be pretty hard to guess what you would get. So, using the system the developers already have for determining fund distribution at the end of the battle, it could be put into action every minute. So it would say potential cut: 2,397 and battle fund: 10,000. And if next minute, you perhaps weren't able to get as many points on the board it would maybe be like potential cut: 2,276 and would shift depending on the action of all players.

 

 This would firstly be very useful, since tankers saving up for items, or maybe leaving early or for any other reason could have a quick, easy access to the amount of crystals they would receive at the end of the match. It would also be motivational, and encourage players to keep on playing the game. How often have we seen tankers play great and at the end of the battle see their cut being over 1k and being ecstatic. If this were projected to them maybe earlier in the game it would motivate them to play better and would encourage more teamwork and communication.

 

 I think that this idea is very neat and intuitive and would be a very nice addition to the game if people showed their support for this idea by giving it a +1. Add any changes and developments you would like to add, I would be happy to include.

Although this idea is interesting, it would IMO promote multing. Mults would join battles, see the potential cut, and if acceptable, just stick around and wait for the battle to end. An interesting thing is the more you play this game, by judging your score and other players score, you will be able to guesstimate your fund in-take. Judging by your rank, you should have some idea on how much you'd make in a battle ;)

What you've said in your 3rd paragraph really interests me. The potential reward being showed only in the late part of the battle,where it gets really exciting is a really good idea,but not when the battle just started,this amount of calculating can better go somewhere els. :)

 You can't just know by your score and fund how big the reward will be...You need to check all scores,the score of the top player in your team and the 3rd and 4th and the game' score. Do you know how to? 0:

It won't motivate the losing team unless they know how much you're going to earn,so they can like "compare" by asking you your reward xD It'll only help the winning team in my opinion....

Mults will see their potential reward going down and becoming smaller and I don't think mults care about their reward  :rolleyes:
