V-LOG ep 42 is waiting for you online

The biggest reason people complain about turrets being over powered is because people hate dying so frequently.

People who choose light hulls KNOW THAT IT IS GOING TO HAPPEN. I've only played video games for roughly 7 years (mostly RPGs), but light hulls trade speed for health, and it seems NOBODY REALIZES THAT. Also, DEFINE "OVERPOWERED". PLEASE. I INSIST. If every other turret "is as overpowered the overpowered turret" IT IS NO LONGER OVERPOWERED, as now the turret has no significant advantage over the other turrets.

I hope a good update will come to Hunter. It's an unpopular hull, and all I see in the matches now-a-days are just Vikings .-. what fun is that?

This is exactly my point. Why has viking so popular now? People are willing to sacrifice speed for protection because they are tired of dying before they even have a chance to do anything with light hulls, and after this new proposed re-re-balance (or is it re-re-re-balance, I've lost count) light hulls will be basically useless. PLAYERS WE NEED TO STOP THIS BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE. (yes I'm yelling)

yes the turrets will be balanced compared to each other but still over powered. You are correct about players choosing light hulls for the speed, but when you can't last longer then a few seconds without being killed by turrets that are too strong, that extra speed is pointless.

You're only supposed to last a few seconds with light hulls...? Speed has plenty of uses but i rarely see people use them because nobody is good at the game.

I bet if you did a survey, you would find out the opposite. Players don't want to die before they can get anywhere, they want to play a game not spend all their time re-spawning.  You can't really use any kind of strategy if you die every few seconds. Capture the Flag games will become harder, maybe even pointless because no one will ever be able to capture a flag. We will all be dead. As an example just look at any game where a team comes in with 2 vulcans, the opposite team usually just leaves, because the game is lost. Vulcan has become a game spoiler. Why? because it is WAY too strong. SO HOW is making all the other turrets stronger going to make this any better?

Actually the rebalance would put light hull in advantage. This is because the rebalance will strengthen the role of firepower in the game. In other words, armour will play lesser role, be it light or heavy hull.

You have to consider that your opponent has a stronger weapon as well :P

 

I think it is true. If the weapons are balanced by increasing the "normal" ones to match "some overpowered" ones.. then the hulls would have to be better armoured as well. In lower ranks this is not necessary.. as the players miss a lot. But in higher ranks with all the aiming updates and shot-at-tower thing light hulls are an easy prey (on most maps, as some maps suit them better then others)

 

(but now some might starts again to mix um diversity with balance with popularity with fun. Four totally different things, that have to be considered by their importance first..)

By the sounds of what was said in V-blog 42, the anti-cheat system does not work very well. It can't tell the difference between lag and a hack. Hacker and cheaters will only use this to their advantage. They will realize that there is no really punishment for using hacks and will use them on alternate accounts to boost battle funds for their mains. Hackers will not care about self-destructs. Reporting them is the only way to get them removed and banned and videos are not an option for many players. So we need a better reporting system. How about an improved /vote system?

The changes are minor at best, 5 extra DPS on every turret isn't going to ruin the game

Yes I know the word "player" was missing out of the first pop-up. It has been fixed and now reads 

"Click on the name of the player you want to report"

Actually, the way this works is that if someone attempts a hack, he self destructs before he can use it to his advantage. For example, let's say a person initiates a fly hack when a gold box is dropping. The hacker self destructs before touching the gold box, therefore preventing any harm to the honest players.

May I ask how your perfect balance would look like, that makes 90% of all tankers happy, all games and situations perfectly balanced and would be able to sustain over 2 years? I am really curious to it.

(and I am no staff member.. I am really just curious)

 

first of all let me ask you a question how many guns or hulls have been added to the game since it been online ? to my info only 2 guns have been added (hummer and vulcan only) and NO new hulls !!! just because they added 2 overpowerd guns they should rebalance others ? why not just rebalance those 2 guns only ?
 
 why it can not sustain for years  ? we are not talking about hunderds of items which makes rebalancing a complex and lengthy process, there are only 12 guns and 7 hulls  ! and they do not add new gun every month !.  once these items get rebalanced it means rebalanced why do we need to balance them all again once we add new thing ?

I sent a PM to and the response was rushed due to his busy schedule, but he confirmed that they have considered the effects of this re-balance on Wasp and Hornet.  If I understand correctly the re-balance may only be part of a bigger plan.  I feel a little more at ease after seeing that, so I will wait and see before passing any further judgment. I just hope my previous prediction are proven wrong.

What I want: Weight switch between Hornet and Wasp. Wasp gains a 0.5 speed boost and 5 health boost at M4 while Hornet gains a 15 health boost at M4.

 

What will happen: Wasp or Hornet becomes F-Tier/Low-Tier/1 out of 10/abysmal/not worth using/terribad (etc)
