Dear all

I have updated "clans" section rules to bring the rules in accordance to the original russian version. Please feel free too add your comments, additions and suggestions. This topic will be unsticked tomorrow, to free space for more important information.

This is old and might come in useful now. BUMP! xD

I'm putting up this complaint not because I don't disrespect tanki rules, but because I think that tanki could be improved with a modification. Clan rules, specifically:

1.3.2. All members must have rank higher or at least equal to Third Lieutenant

My clan, Ironclads was closed because most of the members (including me) violated these rules. In addition, warnings were posted on pretty much every clan's page.

In my perspective, what this rule is saying is telling leaders of clans that they aren't allowed to accept members below 3rd Lt. If tanki seriously wanted this rule to be strictly adhered to, I would think they would make clans more bound to the actual tanki game. In other words, in order to join a clan, you'd have to acquire a rank (e.g. 3rd Lt.), and upon achieving the rank, a popup window would come up giving you some link or code to access the clan application page for all clans.

However, this isn't the case. Yet mods and admins are very adamant about the following of this rule. In my opinion, accepting members should be up to the clan leader or administrator, not up to mods, admins, or any other tanki authorities.

From what I have observed on the forum in the last month or two, is that clans are openly accepting members below 3rd Lt, clans are being closed and reopened, closed and reopened, (SS) and nobody has a problem with any of this. Suddenly, within a span of 3 hours, all that has changed. My clan was shut down, and warnings have gone out and suddenly everyone below 3rd Lt. is kicked out and clanless.

Russian clans all stick to this rule, but why should this be necessary for English ones? Correct me if I'm wrong, but from what I've seen, the vast majority of English players are below 3rd Lt. These are not necessarily players who are on this forum, but most are only ingame. On the other hand, in my whole tanki career, I've only stumbled on a few low ranking Russian players.

Lastly, if Russians choose to go by these standards, why do the English clans have to do so too? It's not like there are ever wars between English and Russian clans. English and Russian clans are in separate categories and timezones, and I believe shouldn't be governed by the same rules.

I must say i find it strange that clans even need rules handed down from up high. for a start tanki offers nothing other than a forum topic, you cant be recognised as a clan in game, no team paints, nothing not until tanki 2 and thats a long way off yet.

this is the first online multilayer game that i have played that has had clan rules created by someone other than the leader of a clan? why should rank have any bearing on playing in a team of friends? lets say a group of people all join together all low rank, lets say they start there own clan get members in slowly start to build up there clan and friendships and after time become good players and a strong clan.

why should tanki dictate to us what we do as a group on a game we all play together. if tanki only wants to cater for the pros and not the new people then they have no reason to stay and try and get to what ever mad lvl they set.

If they want people to stop using the forum for there clans and go to another forum and set up there own clans then thats what will happen.

why cant they just let us do what we want untill they give us tanki 2 then they can impose there Stalinist rules.

just my thoughts on this as a lowly clanless WO4 :)

Why dont u make a lil group? have compitions against other groups, takover games, and have fun wit dem? It wont be anytin like a clan, u can have a paint or whatever.

Russian clans already get their own stickers and things. English clans have to wait until 2.0, whenever that's going to be.

Also, members build strong friendships, and I seriously think that tanki and mods have no right whatsoever to interfere with them by making silly rules and locking topics.

Actualey, with out the rules, I can scry that it would be so disorderley...just igmagin: you and youre friends are playing a game, then one says you are cheating, but you retaliate that...no, dont you remember, there were no rules asigned...so, yea...point proven?

I agree fully with the tanki rules, except for this one. This 3rd Lt. rule is what we're talking about, not all rules in general.

You can still have your little clans. Just no topic. Stop complaining, and play bye the rules. There is a reason that you have to be a major to lead a clan. ;)

True, true. But I still disagree with this rule. Mods shouldn't have the power to control clan's decisions. If a clan has a bad leader, the clan will naturally suffer in wars.

Hehe true. :-) He said he would be willing to "be" the leader, but he didn't really do anything. So the clan was closed because of "faking".
